Hi Shilpa, looks simple & tasty ..Thanks for sharing. will try it out. At my native, we usually prepare this with Chana minus the ginger & garlic and call it chana usli..Usal for us is a dish with gravy and when it is served with some sev, it is misal.

My mom used to add peanuts in the tadka and lemon juice, that gives a different taste.......but it sure is a healthy dish and we used to have it as a snack.

Great Recipe. I also make this but avoid adding the garlic and onions. They mask the flavor of the sprouted mati. I also add some kala masala. Keep up with the wonderful recipes.

This usal goes so well as a sandwich filling and the leftovers are dedicated to making misal :-D Never tried it with gul though, will use it next time. Shilpa, this picture is gorgeous-don't worry about it at all.

Matkichi favourite..My Mom used to make this with Bhakri(jowar roti).Thanks for reminding this dish..will make for chapatis instead..
