In this recipe when should one add the tamarind paste? I love your blog and have been using it for many a yummy meal !I am newly married and just shifted from Delhi to the US.I really like the fact that u write so simply and the food is just like ghar ka khana. Thank you. Rajika Shilpa: Thanks Rajika for the kind words. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I have updated the post.

Shilpa, we make a dry curry (?) like this without the cumin seeds with veggies like small brinjals, okra, tindora. We call it 'Sagle'. I have never tried it with green beans , though. Green beans is a 'Sukke' staple in my household. I like this new dish. will definitely try it.

Shilpa... I am surely going to try tomm as i have huge stock of fresh beans. I guess konkanis in general , be it from Goa, SK, NK or any other place have created all the confusion with respect to names of randayis. Thanks for a different koddel.

Hi Shilpa, Your recipe here is very new to me..may be its the original koddel. I guess even in SK konkani, theres no proper definition for koddel. I have seen my MIL, Mom and few other relatives making kulith gashi or magge gashi with garlic seasoning like any other gashi, but only in these 2 cases they call it Koddel!
