canon 5d review

Wed, 14 Dec 2011 16:15:00 +0000

DonaldVery good unit. Image quality. Good reactivity. Requires very high optical. Perfect for use in photo of architectural or studio and even reportage.I use this device only as a camera. Previously, I was an amateur filmmaker. Then I switched to 16 mm. I stayed long faithful to the latter format because it gave me a picture quality that could offer me video equipment. Last year (2010), I learned that professional film, released in cinemas, had been shot with the Canon like Super 8. So,I decided to buy it. The price is much lower than that of a 16 mm camera, if it still exists. The result far exceeded my expectations: This device restores an image above the ..... 35MM!!. The sound is excellent, especially when using an auxiliary stereo microphone. In short, with the Canon, it has both the advantages of the video (low cost, shooting in all lighting conditions, approvaland possibilities of virtual editing, sound lip) and the pictorial quality and the best cinema sound professional.Filmmakers, brothers, here, finally, the Holy Grail. So go for it!!!. I'M HAPPY!! VERY, VERY HAPPY !!!!!CarlitoThe rendering of images is excellent, a 24x36 full-frame sensor digital camera that brings the money. Excellent box, very professional, quality impeccable. HD video quality is impressive. A small flash would be a Plus.LaurentNot much to say except that a great case. Beautiful building, beautiful sight, intuitive menu, good image quality in high ISO up to 3200, amazing video mode. With the 24-105 f4 Is you a box pro with reasonable weight, coupled with a 70-200 F4 IS, as you have a case you can take without constraint by any weight or size and with an impeccable image quality. Brief but happiness for the enthusiast but also for the professional. Now it's greedy battery, minimum two batteries if you will not spend the day.HarryHi, First of all here I'm not at all pro just passionate.Until then I had my little 450d gave me great satisfaction to the day I took a friend Canon 5D Review in the hands of lightning flash!I did not find as heavy as I feared, very intuitive, almost intuitively we start buttons, Getting Started quick and easy.My first picture with the advice of my friend's settings (it takes more overexposed than the 450D is the most obvious.) And I see the first photo (Not good in hindsight) but with such a difference!. My first tests on horses in motion in very gray and rainy that will convince me that I have no need to burst:) and they just get in the Iso sudden I just increase my speed:) ((I thought one day go to 7D, before touching the 5dII).At that moment I know it will be the Canon 5D, a dream machine, extremely easy to use.Acquired in early December, I had the time to really handle only recently confirmed the happy picture:). Then the video from 2 days so far I've always had a horror of camcorders, and although I must admit that I like the video now:))). It's unsettling at first, I'm still rocking boat, but the output quality is amazing! I have fun.So without being pro why not have fun:) (and more now we use it for my job), good for the price with my friends have found it full of excuses, no one smokes etc. .... but a camera and a camcorder with these qualities there (HD waouhhhh) separately it must do more expensive. My conclusion, in life there is work to have fun, and pro or not if you love the photo where the fun we had one hell dose ..... as happiness this unit.A small flat all the same, when I convert raw jpeg on some pictures I have a net loss of quality, I have not found where it could coming ... if anyone has a solution, I'm bucket;). canon 5D about us

Wed, 14 Dec 2011 15:33:00 +0000

I am a user for 15 years with Nikon a great device.Until the day when a friend passed me his Canon 5D Mark II. The images are of a kind of loyalty and simply fabulous. Auto ISO is extrodinaire with pictures of inside a clear quietly incredible.

This device is a pure joy. Beautiful building, beautiful sight, intuitive menu, good image quality in high ISO up to 3200,amazing video mode. With the 24-105 f4, a box pro with reasonable weight, coupled with a 70-200 F4 IS, as you have a bag,you can take without constraint by any weight or size and with an impeccable image quality. Brief but happiness for the enthusiast but also for the professional. Now it's greedy battery, minimum two batteries if you will not spend the day.Ingenious Canon Engineers appreciate its ergonomics. We are indeed  fortunate to have access to braketing in 2 clicks, our collection of  HDR will further increase.

HD video is a nice touch and the results are impressive.

Finally the full format accessible financially and what image quality! The video is an option much more exciting than I thought: quality cinema.

For the photo, the autofocus is a bit outdated but works perfectly in central collimator. The 21 megapixels provides little that I allow a start cropping bluffing than offsetting my max length of 200mm for sports or wildlife (especially RAW). The RAW in high ISO up to 4000 iso is usable without problems, the grain appears to 6400 but still acceptable (what progress). Do not hesitate - the kit 24-105 is perfect - very good optical. So go for it Canon 5D.

canon 5d manual

Wed, 14 Dec 2011 15:15:00 +0000

The DSLR (digital SLR) now represent the bulk of the fleet of SLR on the market. If the advent of digital technology brings many advantages, there are still some drawbacks that all brands have not yet resolved: the cleaning of the sensors because of those pesky dust!Only Olympus had from the beginning, used a cleaning system integrated with its devices. The others follow ... more timidly than two years! However, the problem remains on many devices, and the canon Canon 5D I use, is just as sensitive to this that his "little brothers" to APS-C sensors. Here's one way (among others) to clean the digital sensor safe.   I of course accept any responsibility for the implementation of the advice given here and their consequences in case of false manipulation: does it work in my carefree, each taking its own responsibilities!Marketed cleaning solutionsCurrently, there are many solutions - more or less effective elsewhere! I refer to some "mini-vacuum cleaners" - sold on the market. For most, it takes at a minimum investment € 70 ... when we should not buy the "refills" (pec pads and other accessories of the kind!) Just as expensive!Reluctant to invest that much in cleaning materials, and especially not really "hot" to put on my Eclipse fluid sensor (I always hated my tracks by tile !!!), I had to find an easy, easy, knowing that by doing minimal attention, only a handful of dust is likely to come to stick by static electricity (grease stains can not seem to me personally, as it does not change its objectives by cooking butter!)This solution is called an ionizer! Why an ionizer? An ionizer is a device that allows you to send one ion flux to be extremely simple, which neutralizes static electricity "loaded" into an object. The goal, as part of what interests us, is precisely to relieve the sensor (or rather the filter which protects) the static holding our little dust, the better to suck then!I will not go on making such a device (which can be found on the market in accessories hifi, but sometimes prohibitive tariffs, so that we can make one yourself very easily from ... a gas lighter piezoelectric! see a design method in detail here - the final cost: by counting the purchase of a gas lighter low-end of a soldering iron and a coil of tin, € 12!) There is no risk to use an ionizer on a DSLR sensor is a process used in electronics laboratories routinely.Demonstration in picturesNothing is more convincing as a demonstration (guaranteed without special effects! Please excuse the quality of the images, they were made with the Kodak DC7220's son!) First, the necessary equipment:Materials required for cleaning the sensor  * Your case (by my Canon  5D) with the manual if you do not know how to position it as "clean sensor" * Your ionizer (my lovely gas lighter blue as amended) * A medical swab (without fibers and can be found in pharmacies) * A small flashlight to see what you are doing * A vacuum cleaner (a Rowenta 1500W about me)It is first necessary to "test" the sensor. For this traditional approach: we photograph a flat, light-colored uniform (ceiling?) By closing the aperture (f/11 at least I personally ... "farm" at the smallest aperture that I am supposed to use: no need close to f/32!) and then we look at the cleaning required ... ;-)Step 1: Position the camera mode "sensor cleaning"The EOS, it passes through the device menu, simply:Menu to access the Canon EOS sensor cleaningOK, then remove the lens allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/7SC6XImdXZ4?feature=player_embedded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />It is valid, then the act of removing the lens in place unlocks the mirror (if none, the unit will direct cleaning mode) ask the housing up and not touch it!Step 2: "ionize" the first time the sensorFor this, we will use our super ionizer, in action, however slowly (to avoid a possible accident which would generate an electric arc! canon 60d vs t3i

Mon, 12 Dec 2011 15:26:00 +0000

More precise and more ergonomic than the EOS 50D, the Canon 60D comes on the market. Add buttons with a single function, close the shutter, or accessible to the thumb, Canon has decided that the use of a reflex expert does not have to mean complications! The Canon 60D features a CMOS sensor APS-C of 18 million pixels, with a light sensitivity between ISO 100 and 12 800. DIGIC 4 offers an image processing 14-bit to get a good color rendering, low noise and high speed processing. For ease of shooting in any position, and the Canon 60D features a swivel LCD screen of 3 inches, Clear View 3.2 for a resolution of 1,040,000 pixels. There are nine areas of focus, face detection, a 10x zoom of 1.5 x, and various creative features.    In video mode, the Canon 60D  in Full HD 1080p recording. The films can then be transferred to HDMI.APS-C CMOS sensor 18 million pixels LCD 3.2 features advanced creative rotatable 7.7 cm Full HD movies DIGIC 4 ISO 100-6 400, expandable to 12 800 Burst Mode (5.3 fps) up to 58 views JPEG 9 cross-type AF sensors iFCL measuring sensor with double-layer to 63 zonesSeventh version of a long successful series, the Canon 600D is the evolution of smooth 550D presented on February 8 last year (see our presentation here). The 600D 550D incorporates a base both in style and in electronics since sensor (18MP!), Processor (Digic IV) and auto focus module (9 points with central AF point sensitive to f/2.8) evolve no. The burst is "frozen" not at 3.7 frames / second. The optical viewfinder pentamirror type is identical to previous generations, with 95% coverage and a magnification x0.85 (or reported to the 24 × 36, magnification x0.54). Finally, the measure of light iFCL is the same and always comes from the 7D, with a measurement of 63 zones.    allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/na7h-K0DK60?feature=player_embedded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />  Therefore, what are the changes brought about by this new box?In fact, the 600D associated himself with the bulk of the "new" adopted by the Canon 60D (see our presentation here), including:- The screen articulated 3-inch format (3 / 2) of one million points. Despite the presence of the joint, the layout of controls on the back of the case is exactly the same as the 550D. Only the sensor below the viewfinder of the 550D to turn off the screen when the case is brought face to referred to disappeared. It has simply been replaced by a button "DISP" at the top of the box to the left of ISO button.- The Toy camera art filters, soft focus, grainy black and white, and finally fish eye.- The ability to choose different sizes (3 / 2, 4 / 3, 16 / 9, 1 / 1).- Control Wireless remote flash.     In addition, Canon continues its conquest of videographers with improvements next video if one is still on the full HD 1080-24, 25 or 30 frames per second, Canon has made efforts to make the video accessible to all. So, can we both use it in fully automatic mode or manual but there is the appearance of a digital zoom mode that extends the zoom to 10 times. Useful if the kit lens (3x) is not enough. In addition, a mode "snapshot" made its appearance: it limits the time to shoot at 2, 4 or 8 seconds in order to plan short and dynamic that can then be assembled with a little music directly on the casing. Still, for now, no lens reflex Canon range is optimized for video sound recording can be parasitized by the engine sound of the lens during development.canon-eos-600d-top-w-ef-s-18-55mm-is-iiThe Canon 600D is therefore a mix between a 550D and a 60D (which appeared himself as a mix between a 550D and 7D!) ... The 600D seems particularly close to the 60D (which keeps him in a box a priori robust, a pentaprism viewfinder larger, more ergonomic "expert", a shutter 1 / 8000, etc.)..The Canon 600D will be available at € 799, Body only and € 899 with a n[...]

canon 5d mark iii

Fri, 09 Dec 2011 15:18:00 +0000

In the program: the same CMOS sensor from 19 to 21 Mpix his little brother the EOS 600D. Some optimizations of the new AF system appeared on the EOS 7D (it is new and deserves a few minor ergonomic improvements). Other than that I see nothing fundamental ...Probably some minor ergonomic improvements and the arrival of a screen ratio 3 / 2 (that's really great to use, one realizes only when used), possibly steerable. To replace the Canon EOS 5D Mk2: I take Paris in September 2011 for the worst (or a life of three years as its predecessor) ... Optimists watch for the announcement in March 2011 (two years and a half after its predecessor, which is also possible):    * EOS 5D (13 MP): August 22, 2005 (36 months of life).    * EOS 5D Mk2 (21 MP): September 17, 2008 (longevity from 30 to 36 months?).    * Canon 5D Mk iii (24-32 MP) between March and September 2011?Currently the EOS 5D Mk2 has no fear and is almost always one on one niche (read our famous guide full frame SLR written two years ago). Admittedly, the Nikon D700 is beginning to be marginalized by too small a sensor of 12 Mpix only ... When both full frame Sony Alpha, you never see it (but then never really, have you noticed), they are virtually ignored by professional photographers.  The EOS 5D Mk iii know a number of improvements (including ergonomics), emerged over the past three years on the EOS 7D, 60D and 550D:    * Full frame sensor from 24 to 32 Mpix.    * Extension of ISO sensitivity up to 51,200.    * 5 RAW file sizes (in 3 places now).    * Output up to 6 images / sec.    * Customization (supervision) of ISO Range Auto.    * New AF system inherited from the EOS 7D.    * New measure 63 areas (the former suited me very well).    * Display the ratio 3 / 2 (possibly larger and more defined).    * Screen swivel (optional).    * Blocking mode dial.    * Move to the right of Depth of Field.    * Move to the left of the On / Off switch.    * Locking rear wheel, separate from the On / Off switch.    * New buttons for controlling the video.    * Setting finest burst of speed.    * Artificial Horizon.    * 100% viewfinder display of the image.    * Display a grid option in the viewfinder.     * Embedded Image Editing (RAW conversion).    * Backup / transfer parameter settings on card.    Fixed optical geometric and chromatic aberrations.    * Improved functions and customization of the video.    * Edit functions / rigging video.    * Intervalometer board.    * Compatible with Battery LP-E6 EOS 5D Mk2 current / 7D.    * Dual slot for CF and SD cards.    * Accompanied by a new EF 21-110 mm f / 4 L IS USM     A word about the successor to the EOS 60D (announced in August 2010), we should probably wait until August or even into the fall 2011 (if he resumes the life of the old traditional two-EOS figures was 18 months)  It will take the same sensor from 19 to 21 Mpix. Also possible for such models "intermediate", Canon back to life a little longer (14 to 18 months), now there are three parallel lines, equipped with the same sensors. The useful life of 12 months of EOS 40D and 50D will probably remain exceptions[...]

If the camera's firmware is already version 2.0.9, it is not necessary to perform the update.FAQ: Preparation for firmware update:Q: What are the changes in version 2.0.9 firmware? A: The following improvements and fixes have been incorporated. 1. Improved speed of writing and reading UDMA CF cards compatible 7. 2. Correction of non functioning of image stabilization (IS) when Custom Function C. Fn III-2 is set to [5: Activation stab. image] and the target does not have a stop button for autofocus. This is explained by the use of custom function C. Fn III -2 (AF goal setting button) on a product not provided with this button.Q: Are the improvements from previous versions of firmware were included in the version 2.0.9 firmware? A: Yes, the following improvements from previous versions are included:Improvements in version 2.0.8 (above)-The Canon 5D : 1. Corrects the phenomenon * 1) for which the videos are not recorded in the shooting mode selected in the settings of the user, if the shooting mode Aperture priority (or shutter priority) is chosen from any of the user settings of the camera (C1, C2, C3) and the user tries to record a video. * 1) This phenomenon occurs with cameras which are installed on versions 2.0.3 / 2.0.4 / 2.0.7 firmware. 2. Corrects the phenomenon of non-shutter when you press the shutter button and the automatic shutoff feature is set to "on." This happens because of the communication between the camera and the lens or flash, or because of the CF card. 3. Corrects the phenomenon * 2) of overexposure occur during the shooting mode simulation with the screen covered by the ISO speed set to L. * 2) This phenomenon occurs only when the Extender EF 2x is used, the ISO speed the camera is set to L (Low) and the shooting mode is set to P (program AE) . 4. Corrects the phenomenon back to the default settings of the transmitter ST-E2 flash when the camera and the ST-E2 are set to automatic shutdown. 5. Fixes a phenomenon in which the macro ring flash (MR-14EX, MT-24EX) and slave flash not synchronizing over the wireless shooting. Improvements in version 2.0.7 (above): 1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the diaphragm moves abnormally when recording video in manual exposure mode and aperture priority AE (Av mode) using some Canon lenses (such as macro lenses). Additional Information: This involves an abnormal movement of the diaphragm of the lens when the focusing ring moves (during development). For zoom-objective variable maximum apertures, opening changes when the zoom ring is used (for the action of the zoom), but this is normal behavior, and the actual opening changes according to the focal length (zoom position). 2. Corrects the phenomenon in which the exposure level indicated on the LCD screen is different from what is displayed in the viewfinder when shooting still images in manual exposure mode. 3. Corrects the phenomenon in which the Wireless File Transmitter (WFT-E4 or WFT-E4 II) may not stop automatically when it is used for FTP transfers.Improvements in version 2.0.4 (previous) version 2.0.4 firmware incorporates improvements five video function and correction function manually cleaning the sensor of the Canon 5D. canon 60d vs nikon d7000

Wed, 07 Dec 2011 16:53:00 +0000

Canon EOS 60D vs Nikon D7000: reminder of forcesFirst out, the Canon 60D offers both Full HD recording and a rotating screen perfect for video recording in 3:2 aspect ratio, the sensor 18 megapixels of 7D and 550D in a revised version according to Canon, a frame rate to 5.3 i / s, etc. .... Positioned between the EOS 7D and EOS 550D, it has many qualities of the 7D. The Nikon D7000 (that we can now win the video contest "I'm a hero") is positioned between the D90 and D300 but by giving back a shot of old technology to its congeners. Indeed, it adopts the new APS-C sensor of 16 megapixels, which is illustrated in particular on the new Pentax K-5. Its finish is strengthened and evolves finish a level above that of the EOS 60D, very plastic. His muscular shutter (1/8000s and 150 000 shots), a rate of shooting burst of 6 i / s, 39 AF points, recording Full HD video, the new cell exposure measurement and 'AF sensor with 2,016 .... It is marketed for several days at a price of 1149 euros or 50 euros less than its competitor Canon.DxOMark 2011: benchmark reflex and objectivesDxO's testing is conducted in a scientific manner. The software editor provides us with measurements on the sensors, in RAW, which he uses to achieve its correction modules and develop RAW photos of the main reflex of the market. On all measures shown below, the performance of the Nikon D7000 are in red and those of the Canon 60D yellow. (For once, the two brands share their colors). It goes without saying that this test can not judge the sensors and devices in their entirety (features, usability, etc ...)All measurements are on the DxO site: www.dxomark.com.Color depthExpressed in bits, the color depth of the sensor's ability to give back the shades of color. The advantage is the sensor of the Nikon that provides a constant feed of about 0.5 bit. The superiority remains steady over the entire range of ISO sensitivities, both cases have their "tonal response" down in the same way at the same time that the sensitivity increases. Slight advantage to the Nikon (the privilege of a sensor 16 against 1mégapixels)Measures "screen".Measures "Print" in which pictures are converted into an output of 8 megapixels to judge the quality expected of a draw that may differ from that seen at 100%. allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/sVpGpHSpcIg?feature=player_embedded' FRAMEBORDER='0' /> Canon EOS 60D vs Nikon D7000: the dynamic rangeWe run after all! It has become a criterion of choice for advanced photographers who are fond of the RAW format for its ability to cash diaph. And it is precisely the public of both sides. The chart below speaks for itself: the Nikon D7000 "is a slap" severe sensor Canon 60D. The Nikon D700 (at ISO 83) Cash 13.8 EV dynamics when the Canon EOS 60D tops out at 11.5 EV at ISO 93. The comparative-terrain certainly show a visible difference with highlights breakthroughs later in the D7000 which will provide a wider latitude of recovery and a picture more fully exposed. What progress! The difference in the dynamics of the two sensors is then reduced with increased sensitivity, but still the order of an EV at ISO 400 and ISO up to 1600, to become insignificant beyond ISO 3200 . Big advantage of this setting in Nikon D7000, which is illustrated with an impressive dynamic between 100 and 400 ISO. He filed the same as a full-frame Canon EOS 5D MKII yet to 11.87 EV at ISO 100 ....Canon EOS 60D vs Nikon D7000: sensitivityThis test shows the latitude are mainly manufacturers with the values ISO sensitivity: ISO 100, the Canon 60D is worth only 93 and the Nikon D7000 is worth 83 ... This also contributes to its good results in the lowest sensitivities. The two reflex are equivalent. Richer in teaching, let's look at the signal to noise ratio.Canon 60D vs Nikon D7000: the signal / noise i[...]

canon 5d mark ii vs 7d - canon 5d vs 7d

But today, the magazine ignored the barriers of thought and made the two brothers who compete believed never to compete in against each other. The Canon EOS 7D: Finally an APS-C DSLR expert worthy of the name Canon.Who is more pro? Is it really what we think? For many professionals, not full frame sensor, no salvation. However, the Canon EOS 7D, with outstanding image quality for an APS-C, calls into question the supremacy of the full frame. We do not give here the final score of the match  Canon 5D vs S 7D that is read in the number 213s of December 2009 Photo of answers, but the winner is perhaps not what one believes. To break the tie in the end, it will look its own priorities, as always, and whether the emphasis on image quality and flexibility of use that appears, for the magazine, which would classify them.  allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/C3-fHf0Y990?feature=player_embedded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />  High ISO sensitivityFor shooting hand held in low light, the EOS 5D Mark II offers ISO sensitivities up to 6400. Tue, 06 Dec 2011 16:31:00 +0000

The Canon EOS 5D is a nice evolution of the previous model with significant changes at the sensor, processor, or in the viewfinder with the ability to shoot movies in Full HD. However, these changes are primarily internal and the interface of the new model does not seem to have changed dramatically. The owners of a 5D will be immediately comfortable, but we would have liked the changes further.     Canon EOS 5D Mark II test The first notable change is the barrel of exposure modes. It is enriched by two additional customizable modes and the famous mode CA (Creative Auto), which appeared on the EOS 50D. If it may seem superfluous, the first two and can prove very useful to quickly switch to a mode set for night photography or black and white for example. The Canon EOS 5D now has three modes C1, C2 and C3 customizable. On the left shoulder, you will find 3 double commands to set the light metering, white balance, autofocus, the engine, the sensitivity and the flash exposure compensation. These dual controls (one button to change two parameters depending on whether the wheel or the wheel on the handle is used) are not obvious at first. Fortunately, help is displayed on the rear LCD panel for ease of handling. Attention those accustomed to the settings of the 5D will likely be a bit surprised at the change of use of the keys (same as the 50D). Indeed, the previous model, the pairs of settings are autofocus, white balance, motor-sensitivity and measurement of light-exposure compensation. It will therefore certainly a little time to get used to these changes. The back of the case is largely occupied by a stately and comfortable 3-inch LCD (920,000 dots) VGA display. We note at the bottom of the screen a small cell that automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to ambient lighting. A convenient feature, but sometimes misleading to estimate (without using the histogram) exposure of an image. We will detail the game menus in the next chapter, but it is interesting to note that the new  Canon EOS 5D has a display screen that allows you to adjust settings directly on the rear LCD panel. The INFO button. summarizes the various parameters of shooting (see above) and click on the Joystik can move on options. The values are then modified using the encoder. A new AF-ON is also emerging. It enables autofocus in Live View mode with contrast or conventional development without pressing the shutter button.
