Long Time

It's been forever since I posted here. And if I know me it will be forever before I post again.

My interests have shifted from crochet to knitting. I am working on my second pair of socks. The first pair were for my daughter and now I have finished the first one of the pair for my husband. I find knitting fun and relaxing.

Oh yea I have become a Facebook geek:) I play and play those games. They are so addictive!

Yesterday I finished a ski mask for my husband. It's been very cold here, in the 20's which is unusual for us. I bought him a mask at Walmart but it didn't fit so I made him one and he loves it:)
I finished also a purse organizer that is felted. But of course the felting isn't working for me. I have to read more and get it figured out.
Worse thing is my asthma is driving me nuts. It's been 3 weeks now and not getting gone. I am finishing up my prednisone so will probably end up at the docs again. Say a prayer for me please. The asthma really does slow me down.

It's been over a year?????

Wow I can't believe that it's been over a year since I posted here or crocheted for that matter. I have had a busy year and I hope for a more blessed year in 2009 for all.
I have the crochet bug again so watch out:) I am working on a shawler over at Crochet Manics for a CAL. The pattern is by Shelle Cain and it's lovely. You can find the links below in my link section for Crochet Manics forum and Shelle.

Well I am off to get back to hooking. God bless and Happy New Year!

Busy So Far This Year

Well the New Year has officially begun! Welcome 2008:) I hope and pray you will be a good year.

I was blessed to get a laptop yesterday! Wow it's so different from my desktop so it will take getting used to. It's just the keyboard that is tricky oh and the mouse pad too lol. So I have hooked up a track ball mouse and that makes that part easier. I just need to keep using the keyboard until I get good at it.

So I hope that you are doing good and have a great week:)

I just want to wish everyone and Happy New Year! I pray that 2008 will be full of blessings for you:)

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas:) I hope that you and your family have a blessed Christmas and that you share it with those you love. Remember to keep CHRISTmas in Christmas. God bless:)

Vicki Howell Podcast

Hi just wanted to pass this on. I love watching Vicki on Knitty Gritty and now she is doing a Podcast which starts on November 1st. Here is the link so go and take a look see:) Click HERE to see what it's all about!

A Mystery CAL, bracelet, dishcloth and ongoing tote

Hi it's WIP Wednesday. The only one that is an actual WIP is this tote that I am working up in Afgan stitch. I really like how it's turning out:)
Here is a bracelet I made using a pattern from . It was really fun and easy:) And my dd likes it:)
Next is a knitted dishcloth I just finished this morning. It was so much fun to do. I just started it last night. Now that is fast for me:) I am just a beginning knitter:)
Last but not least is my finished Mystery CAL we did at Crochet Mania:) The pattern is from The Crochet Dude. It was fun:)
Thanks for looking:)

Happy Birthday to me:)

Well I turned...29 again yesterday:) I had a great day:) My daughter made me a great cake and we had a nice dinner together just us 3:) It was very special:)

I received so many lovely well wishes and gifts online. I

It's about time...

I posted. LOL I have been busy but a good busy. RL is starting to even out and get better:) Thanks for the prayers for us.

Ok first off over at Crochet Mania we had a delightful exchange called, Christmas in July:) I received the most adorable crocheted ornaments and awesome hot pad from TX Crochetlover! Wow did I have a time trying to keep my daughter from stealing them:) Thanks Selina for the great exchange:)

OK well it was my turn to make some fun things for my exchange partner for the same Christmas exchange. I got to send my creations to Gina Laughed:) They were so much fun to make!
Ok on to what is more current. I have been having a hankering for a crocheted purse. I found a pattern for a duffle shaped bag. It's a little small for what I usually carry and I need to buy a button for the closure. Can you believe I can't find a button to sew on? Anyway I will probably use is for a notions holder or something.

Here is a thing I made to hold my scissors, counter and stitch holders. I drap it around my neck and it works good. I love the colors:) My favorites:)

I went to Joann's last week and found for $1 a skein some Moda Dea Gleam and fell in love with it. It's the first time I used any fancy yarn that had some actual natural fibers. LOL I am bad and go for the cheap stuff. But this stuff is 35% kid mohair and its so soft and I love the color. So I made a shaw with it. I just love to wrap up in it. LOL it's kind of like a kids blanket:) The picture doesn't do it justice. I used a Q hook in single crochet.

Ok I finally broke down and am trying to learn to knit. It's been fun learning a new craft. I have managed to learn both continental and english method and interchange the two. But so far I am only doing knits and purls. Here is a sneak preview of my basketweave scarf.

Well thats it for this update. I will try not to wait so long in doing so again.
God bless:)

Just another Wednesday

Well I finished a star rug I was making for my daughter. I am not really happy with how it turned out. For some reason its really puckered in the points. But she did take it to bed with her. Who knows she might use it for a small afgan. This picture was about 1/2 way through.

This is an afgan I made for my husband for Christmas 2006. I did it with a giant hook and 2 strands of yarn. LOL it's really big hehe.

This is a prized posession of mine. It's an afgan that my mom made me. She died 10 years ago this month. I really miss her. I love how she made this one. She made Granny Squares and then set them on the diaginal.

Sharing some of my goodies:)

I haven't yet posted any creations. LOL Up until now there is no proof that I can even crochet. LOL So here a couple of my things.

This is a pattern that was designed to use up scraps. It did it's job:) It was a fun pattern to work.

These are a couple of hats I made. The purple one is from a loom and the blue one is using broomstick crochet.
This is one of the scarfs I made my daughter:)

I know it's a little bit late...

but Happy Independance Day:)
We are so blessed to live in this country. I know there are a lot of things wrong with it but there is more that is right. I watched Jimmy Cagney in Yankee Doodle Dandy last night. I remember seeing it as a child. I just love the patriotic songs in it like Over There. We really need to show our support to the troops and be thankful that they are defending our freedom.
Love, Phoenix

Just another Saturday

Hi and thanks to Patty and Nymph for the sweet comments about my site here:) LOL still trying to figure out in my mind if I want to make another one on my url.

Well it's just another Saturday around here. I have to work tonight and tomorrow night so will be sleeping mostly. It's hot already in the 80's and it's only 11am. I really dislike the summer heat. But would probably dislike the real cold weather too cause it gets in my bones and I can't get warm.

I had a delightful trip to Joann's craft store yesterday:) I found the clover soft touch crochet needles that I have heard about and got a g and a j. I really like them. I can go a mile a minute and have made 3 gifts since yesterday for my Christmas in July swap partner over at CrochetMania:) I will take pics and post them later after the exchange. Here is a graphic I made for the members there. It's a great place:)
Well I hope that you all have a blessed weekend:) Hugs;0)

First Post

Wow it's been a long night! My WordPress site wouldn't work for all the tea in China so I ended up deleting the whole shebang! Boy that did hurt. So I decided to make a site here at and use my site for storage. I figure I can incorporate my family, dolling, crafts and homeschool all into one place:) So thus this blogger was born. I hope in the future to fill it with fun and interesting stuff. I hope you visit often my friends.
