Holy crap! These look so good. I normally hate these because I haven't ever had them home made, and you're exactly right - in the restaurants they're just deep fried and too heavy. I really want to make these now!!

I absolutely love your pictures! I look forward to them when I get home from a late night out and I'm hungry. It inspires me to shop for good stuff at the farmers market and cook the next day. By the way, Bells beer is very popular here in DC at many of the independent pubs. If you're ever here, check out The Reef ( They have wonderful organic food and great rare drafts.

Those look so fabulous! I might be drooling right now....So simple, but yet I never would have thought of it myself. Haha.

Wow. Those look 100 times better than the ones I ordered a long time ago. They were unforgetable. But not because I ever wanted to order them again. :)

Hey Chris! Yeah, I got these at Union Square - Norwich Meadow Farm, I think? They were awesome, really fresh and with a good amount of heat. I've tried charring them over the burner but I also have had bad luck with that. The broiler works pretty well for me.

i love poblanos! but i have no patience to prepare them. but i guess i was trying to do it over the burner, i'll have to try it in the broiler (why can't they just engineer a poblano that either has a softer skin, or better yet, a removable skin like a banana!) are those from union square? i gotta get me some!
