This is a disease caused by bacteria and spread through the bite of a deer tick.If the disease is left untreated it may cause serious health problems including skin problems, problems to nervous system, heart and joints. The bites of ticks carrying Borrelia burgdorferi bacterium is the cause of disease.Spreading of this disease is highly related to climate, ie.climate favorable for the deer ticks. Person to person transmission of disease does not occur. The symptoms may appear within 3 days to one month of tick bite. Arthritis is not a single disease, it is a term used to denote various problems related to joints. It is an inflammation of joints and a symptom more than a disease and associated with many diseases. The most common types of arthritis are Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Systematic lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Arthritis, Gout etc.Arthritis is considered as an autoimmune disease and the exact reason behind this problem is still unknown and many factors including genetic reasons are suspecting to the development of arthritis. But external factors include smoking, injuries, jobs which demand high body strain etc. are proved to be increase the possibilities of arthritis.A condition among young people named joint hyperlaxity, high flexibility of joints, obesity, less or no exercise etc. and diseases like diabetics etc. are also increase the possibilities. Arthritis can be occurred in any person at any age group. But osteoarthritis are found mostly among old aged people. A preliminary condition of rheumatic arthritis, the rheumatic fever appears among the teenagers.Fingers with OsteoarthritisPhoto by Paul Goyette affected with Rheumatoid arthritisBy Arnavaz at fr.wikipedia [Public domain], from Wikimedia CommonsGoutBy Gonzosft (Own work) [CC-BY-3.0-de (], via Wikimedia Commons As earlier stated arthritis is an autoimmune disease.Under this condition the immune system of our body which is supposed to protect our body from external threats will attacks our own body tissues due to unknown reasons. This causes destruction of bones and cartilage and wear and tear to tendons around joints which further leads to malfunctioning or nil functioning or fingers, arms, legs, joints etc. In some case it may affect liver, lungs, eyes, skin etc. If not treated in time Rheumatoid Arthritis may cause damages to eyes, heart, liver etc.and further leads to cancer and heart diseases. Osteoarthritis is also become catastrophic if not treated in early stages, that in final stages the cartilage become completely worn-out and the ability of body movements become affected.Foods containing omega-3 fatty acid is useful for controlling SLE. It may als  be useful to avoid soft drinks, alcohol,non-veg food etc. to reduce the severity of  gout. Regular exercise is a good option for easing the disease. Specially designed exercises are found effective in reducing the intensity of arthritis. These exercises increase the strength of muscles and reduces muscle atrophy.Quadriceps exercises are one of the exercises designed for arthritis patients.  Now due to the advancement of technology and research arthritis can be regulated to comfortable levels if detected earlier.More effective medicines are also available to ameliorate the symptoms of arthritis.Steroids are used to relieve symptoms of arthritis. In extreme case doctors may recommend arthroplasty ie. joint replacement.Stem cell therapy for curing arthritis is also in the pipeline, which is highly expected to emerge as a remedy for this problem.  [...]

Memory, Thinking and Reasoning skills differ human beings from other animals. The condition of gradual and progressive decline of these skills is known as dementia. The most known and widely seen dementia is caused by Alzheimer's Disease. It is a progressive, irreversible brain disorder that destroy a person's health and ability to carry out daily activities . This is caused due to the incapability of brain cells to communicate with each other. The significant symptoms are memory loss, inability to learn and communicate and the patients may have personality and behavior disorders, anxiety, suspicious and agitated. Due  to these reasons this disease will adversely affect not only the patients but also their families.Alzheimer's disease usually affects people above 65 years of age. There is a high chance for people having health problems like Hypertension and Diabetics to become an  Alzheimer's patient.                                                                 Normal BrainBy US National Institute on Aging, Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center[Public domain or Public domain], via Wikimedia CommonsBrain with Alzheimer's Disease           By US National Institute on Aging, Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center[Public domain or Public domain], via Wikimedia CommonsDiagnosisAlzheimer's disease can be diagnosed by scanning, neuro psychological testing, blood tests, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan, Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scan, Magnetic resonance spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) etc. Treatment No effective treatment or vaccines have been developed to combat Alzheimer's disease, but only medicines are available to regulate the disease up to reasonable levels. The best and only one way of prevention or delaying the disease is by switching to a healthy life style.Control Hypertension and diabetic to healthy levels.Do regular exercise and have health diet by including Vitamin-E contained vegetables and fruits.Be a Social man - spend more time with family, friends and relatives.Tacrine(Cognex), aricept are widely used drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Exelon and Razadyne ( formerly reminyl) are newer drugs found equally effective, but require small doses.Researches about using stem cells in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease are also progressing rapidly.According to latest researches carried out in England, a group of scientists have became successful to identify the genes behind Alzheimer's disease. Interesting fact is that these are the genes that are behind the cholesterol hike and inflammation. The scientists hope that prevention of this disease is not too far away. [...]

Many assumptions are prevailed about it's exact cause and it's regulation and treatment. Everybody knows that consumption of salt is directly related to hypertension and diet control is the most effective way to control the disease. But there is no idea so far about the effects of various cooking oils in relation to hypertension. However a group of researches come up with a strong recommendation of usage of a particular oil for hyper tension patients and that is"sesame oil". Through the research they have proved that the oil not only lowers the B.P. levels but also helps to reduce the quantity of medicines used to lower hypertension. The researchers proved that poly unsaturated fatty acids when mix with sesamin a compound found in sesame oil effectively reduces hypertension.Sesame fibers included in sesame oil can reduce absorption of cholesterol.Sesame oil contain poly unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E.  Moreover Ayurveda suggests the use of sesame oil for maintaining a good health condition.I, Avenafatua [GFDL (, CC-BY-SA-3.0 ( or CC-BY-SA-2.5 (], via Wikimedia Commons,Please See GFDL [...]

We are living in a polluted atmosphere.Smoke, dust, poisonous gases etc. are contained in our breathing air. Moreover it is a fact, we use a small part of the lungs for breathing, while majority of our lung area may become idle. You may aware that our body cells require oxygen to carry out metabolism and in it's absence the cells may grow unhealthy or diseased. Sometimes it may leads to cancer.A solution for this problem is belly breathing. In this style of breathing we are able to use full capacity of our lungs for breathing.Lay on bed in straight position and put both your hands on the belly area in one over the other position. We Know that our body, especially intestine carries many colonies of different micro organisms. But have you ever thought these parasites can change or shape our personality. Yes, it is a real fact. The chemical substances produced by these micro organisms can alter or change functioning of body organs. Some toxins or chemicals can change the patterns of brain chemistry. The researchers of McMaster University of Canada conducted studies among mice about the influence of bacteria in behavioral patterns. They fed the mice with Lactobacillus Ramnosuss, a bacteria which is common in curd. The mice fed with this bacteria exhibited less fear and stress. They also observed the changes occurred in the brain after feeding the bacteria.Toxoplasma bacteriaCredit: Image provided by Ke Hu and John Murray.,DOI: 10.1371/journal.ppat.0020020.g001Scientists already established the link between Toxoplasma bacterium and schizophrenia.
