Hi Stephanie! Sorry to hear that! Did you stir up the granola after the 1st 10 minutes (and every 10 minutes thereafter)? My oven at this time was not convection either (are you using fan-forced?) so that may also account for the difference...

Hi! I was looking for a great granola recipe, and yours is wonderful with the exception of the baking time and temperature. I converted to Fahrenheit, but about 20 minutes in, my granola was burnt. :( not good!

Hey Joey - I have made granola many times before but when I mentioned that it is time to make my own - I meant using your recipe. Loved it by the way!

Hi Anon! Hmmm...Really? I haven't heard that yet...I actually used vegetable oil for this batch (but that was just because I didn't have canola). What would be a good substitute you think? Although for someone like me who loves butter and animal fat, I think I may have worse things to worry about! :)

it's delicious and I'll love it, but I've just heard that canola oil isn't that healthy...what do you think about it?

Hi Katie! I'm having some right now with yogurt :) Nice to see another grain-lover here! :)

Hi Chelley325! Glad to be of help :) The Grape Nuts sound like a good addition...hope it all turns out well! :)

Hi Sha! Back to Greece for a while? That sounds fantastic! Have some Greek yogurt for me ok? :)

Thanks for the suggestions Joey! The packaged cereal is actually a great idea. I think that Grape Nuts (which, despite its name, does NOT have nuts in it) would be a great option. I'll be making this today or tomorrow - can't wait to taste it!

I too have a complete love of all grains, they are just so wholesome and comforting. Your granola looks divine and the perfect thing to munch on throughout the day.

Hi Chelley325! If you're allergic to nuts would you also be allergic to seeds like sunflower seeds, pepitas, sesame seeds? Sorry if I sound a bit ignorant but I really don't have experience with nut allergies! What about pine nuts? Or maybe a crunchy package cereal (in which case add that with the fruit after the roasting)? If you are allergic to all those then go ahead and skip the nuts and stick to dried fruit :) Wish I could be more help! Hope you enjoy the granola!

I am planning on making this granola this weekend (it looks fabulous!)... I am allergic to nuts, however - what would you suggest as a substitution? Just more dried fruit/raisins? or something else, or just omit entirely? Thanks! :)

Hi Katiez! Granola and yogurt, and some bacon on the side...a breakfast for champions! :)

Thanks MM! For all my reducing recipes because we never finish anything, the granola is going fast...and it's only me eating it!

Hi Mahek! Glad you liked the post :) You can use any combination or dried nuts/seeds that are available to you (and the fruits too of course). When roasting the granola you can use foil as well as parchment paper to line the cookie sheet...and you can cool it on the pan itself, or a separate non-stick pan :)

Hi Amanda! Thanks! You should...it's really easy and so worth it :)

Great pics Joey!
I've been saying for ages that we should make our own granola, I hope this gives me the kick I need to just do it!

2008-01-24T07:40:00.000+08:00

Joey, looks great to me. And yes, I throw in just about any combination of dried fruits and nuts, including dried cranberries, golden raisins, dried apricots, etc... And it will keep in a tightly sealed jar for a couple of weeks. :)

I don't see any reason why one cannot have granola with yogurt for breakfast...with a big side of crisp bacon. Works for me!

Hi Pille! Always glad to be of service :)

Hi Nens! I know you are...one of the things we have in common :) You can try this my mix anytime!

Hi Dhanggit! The dried mangoes are so yummy...and actually the cheapest alternative over here, unlike dried figs, which cost much more, and I only used them because I already had them. Hmmm...we should barter! :)

Hi KJ! Thanks :)

Hi Suzana! You're a sweetie to make something you don't usually enjoy for your hubby! I'm sure he will like it...and it's really a snap to make :)

Hi Rosa! "Seeds and cereals" will do just fine :) I know what you mean, I keep picking at it too!

Hi Meeta! It's very easy and the rewards are so worth it :)
