Changes need to be made...To frustrated right now to begin..What I know is SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE!!!

6 games that had me on me glued to my TV and really that's all you can ask for..Can't wait for Lakers vs Jazz Conference Finals 2009.

Al, just because you've been a Lakers fan for 20 years doesn't give you any excuse to be classless and continue to remind them over and over again why you believe our team is superior to theirs.

We won the game and the series, so clearly, in this series we were the better team. This doesn't give us any excuse to lord it over the losing team. If they are unhappy to have lost the series and believe that there were factors outside of their control, then that's their prerogative to do so.

Jeff, speak for yourself. No one appointed you the voice of Laker Fans. I have been a Laker fan for over 20 years. And no, it really wasn't an amazing series. Each Laker win was never really in doubt, and the Lakers could have easily closed them out in 5. Sitting close enough to pick up on little nuances of each team, it was clear that Utah had no chance. Especially with the bitterness a few of the players have for one another. And to the notion that superstars get calls. Well, superstars who drive to the basket and are playing against a team of hacks get calls. I was really amazed at the amount of times Jazz players looked shocked at a foul call when it was blatant. There is another reason why the Lakers shot more free throws. Jazz players dont play d. They hack. Being physical is fine. But being physical to the point that you are fouling every time down the floor is stupid. Playing aggressive, physical d, contesting shots without fouling is much more productive. And I didn't hear anyone complaining when the Jazz shot 45 fts and 20 more than the Lakers in game 4. Like i said in my original comment, Utah is inherently flawed. I feel bad for them because I would hate having to root for guys that I truly know wont be able to get over the hump and into the finals.

sorry for rubbing it in! am done with that. anyways was born in provo but as an enlisted dude i dont have a permanent address as of yet. i say trade boozer for a defensive center and move okur to PF spot. trade AK for a good enough SG. and seriuosly consider revising the offensive sets. man it was run 20 years ago, every coach in the league have ideas how to stop it. especially the zen master.

That was an amazing series. You guys have an incredible team. It looks like the Lakers and the Jazz will be fighting it out for years to come.

I also apologize for all of those bandwagon classless fans that are coming out to gloat. Please realize that they aren't representative of the Laker nation.

Thanks Al. That's the first time anyone has ever brought up the Fisher situation. Glad you could shed some light on it. Oh, and you are not going to break our hearts throwing Boozer under the bus so go ahead.
Enough with the smack on fans. Crazy, over-dramatic fans are everywhere rooting for teams througout professional sports. We saw plenty of them wearing purple and yellow last night so the fans being cold holds no ground...at all. We could pick apart every arena out there.
Yes, you (Lakers) have an All-Star Team that is going to be tough to beat, we are not arguing that with you. Good luck next series.
To the Machine, I know all superstars get calls, that's why I said, "Because of the baby-sitting league the NBA is, us Jazz fans expect a little of that for D-Will, but nope."
One day we will know what it's like to have a player get star treatment. Maybe then I won't whine about the refs.....nah. I'll still whine.

2008-05-17T14:00:00.000-06:00

Hey Chubs,

Who is the "John Smith" that you keep referencing? You talk about him as if you know who he is. If you are trying to make fun of Mormons by talking bad about our founding Prophet at least do us the courtesy of getting his name right. It's Joe Smith. Be careful out there in the big world, your ignorance and intollerance will catch up to you some day.

As for the game, it pains me to say this, but the better team won. And really it was not even that close. Boozer was heartless, Derron was a superstar and the rest of the team looked star struck.

The Jazz had a decent year, but this series exposed some flaws that need to be addressed for this team. Namely, our front line and defense.

I hate the Lakers more today than I did yesterday, especially Kobe and D-Fish. Seriously, if Fisher would have played that well for us during the San Antonio series last year we would never have let him go. I really enjoyed most of the back and hope we can meet up again next year in the playoffs. Stay Classy guys.

2008-05-17T13:50:00.000-06:00

I admit when I'm wrong...the Lakers only won by 3, not by 16. It was definitely going the way I envisioned up until the 4th quarter, though. You have to admit that the Lakers offense is awesome to watch.

All superstars get calls, boone. Did you see the charge call on Pierce in the other game last night? That was called because it was Lebron James. Get a superstar, get calls. Fortunately for Jazz fan, Deron Williams will almost certainly be in that class. Dude is scary. I fully expected that last shot of his to go in.

Good series, good teams, good blogging, and the better team did prevail. This was your chance to beat the Lakers, because when Bynum comes back, nobody will beat them. Enjoy your trip to France, AK47. Maybe they can teach you to surrender properly, so we don't have to go six games next time.

2008-05-17T13:18:00.000-06:00

I am sorry to say that your team is inherently flawed. Relying on Boozer, Okur, and Kirilenko does not bode well for your future. Deron is your only legit player, although I really like Milsap's game. Harpring is a cheap shot artist who doesn't play defense. He just holds and grabs. And as we saw last night, Korver doesn't have that manhood to take a big shot. He passed up a catch and shoot 3 to tie the game, the exact reason why you guys acquired him. I respect your passion for your team, but I doubt you will get out of the west in the next 5 years when looking at how stacked the Lakers are and will be for the immediate future. On top of that, your fan have lack of decency and respect. OH, and you guys gave Fish shit about his contract situation when Boozer stabbed a blind man in the back in a worse situation. It all adds up. You guys are done. Good night Jazz fans.....and good luck.

2008-05-17T12:36:00.000-06:00

Thanks John and all the other Laker fans for rubbing it in as well as stating the obvious. I love the Jazz and I love our fans. We are passionate (at times a little too passionate) and we love our team. Yes, there are some complete idiots out there but you were not there to see the Laker fans causing trouble the entire game. I saw more drunk Laker fans falling over chairs and spilling beer into innocent ladies' laps last night then I did last fall at the "Mullets and Mugs Fair" in Ireland. True Laker fans would have been embarrased just as much as true Jazz fans were embarrased last night at some of our fans.
Was there some whining, hell yes. I was one of them. It's hard not to when you watch a player like D-Will get no love from the officials. No Laker fan can honestly say that Kobe does not get special attention. He is good, but it is pathetic. Because of the baby-sitting league the NBA is, us Jazz fans expect a little of that for D-Will, but nope. Fans were whining because we played poorly and we were all frustrated. That coupled with refs making controversial calls that kept killing any chance of making a run had us all on edge. The fact is we lost to the better team. I hate saying that but it is true....for now. On behalf of all the idiots who chucked stuff on the court or towards the Lakers bench, I apologize. (Next time, aim at the refs.) Here's to next year and many more Jazz/Laker battles to come. Go Jazz!....and Go whatever Eastern Conference Team makes it to the Finals!

It is too bad that a few Jazz fans can ruin a whole arenas reputation... but they do. My favorite team is always they who play the Jazz. Fairweathered? YES! Why? Because I get some sick joy watching the annoying classless throw stuff because you are babies Jazz fans sadly sulking home.

2008-05-17T11:33:00.000-06:00

Its bad enough that the Jazz got eliminated on their home floor but whats really embarrassing is how the fans looked like a bunch of whiny bitches during the game. The Jazz were down by 19, couldnt stop anybody, couldnt do anything offensively, yet somehow it was the refs fault for their teams embarrassing display. Have you ever noticed that its always the LOSING team whining about the refs? Thats why this morning the Utah Jazz and their fans wake up as losers today.

And by the third quarter, one Jazz fan was directing the same nasty verb used for the referees at Carlos Boozer.

Boozer was ineffective as he was for most of the series, going out with 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting before fouling out, as the Lakers successfully defended him with a variety of looks. These playoffs represented a step backward for him.

2008-05-17T04:01:00.000-06:00

still rubbing it:

Jerry Sloan kept painting the Lakers as the more experienced team, even though the Jazz were the ones who went to the conference finals last year and had almost everyone back. The only Lakers who had reached the conference finals before were Bryant, Fisher and Luke Walton.

The Lakers successfully turned down the volume on the vociferous Utah crowd, using a steady flow of fast-break points, 3-pointers and free throws to pound the Jazz.

By the end of the first half the fans were reduced to chanting derisively at the referees, as if it were the official's fault the Jazz shot 33 percent, or that they played defense that let the Lakers get whatever shots they wanted. Hey, maybe the refs chartered the plane for Andrei Kirilenko's ill-timed trip to San Francisco Thursday to take care of visa issues at the French embassy.

Actually, one fan did blame Kirilenko, commandeering a public address microphone during halftime and using the arena loudspeakers to urge Jazz owner Larry Miller to trade Kirilenko.

i stand corrected, you already drop boozers... my bad.

to rub it in more:

The Lakers showed they have just enough experience and firepower, beating the Utah Jazz 108-105 at EnergySolutions Arena Friday night, and demonstrated why they have the right mix to beat either the New Orleans Hornets or the San Antonio Spurs in the next round.

They just notched an increasingly rare road victory in these playoffs. At the start they showed an understanding of the initial effort it takes to prevail in hostile environments.

Adios, fellas! I respect your team, but I hate the classless fans who come to your arena. If you're a Jazz fan but you would never throw stuff at the visiting bench - and don't condone it either - then I'm not talking to you. As for the rest of you: 20 years of Jerry Sloan and you're still throwing garbage? I guess class isn't contagious, after all.

2008-05-17T02:08:00.000-06:00

Seriously, though I think that the Jazz were the second best team in the NBA this year.

It's entirely possible that the Jazz could beat every other team in the playoffs besides the Lakers.

Boozer just is not athletic enough to play against taller defenders just as quick as him.

Deron Williams is a STUD. He has nothing to be ashamed of.

Ronnie Brewer - work on your jumper this summer, so that teams will pay for not guarding you.

Andrei - have fun in Paris.
