yep. it wasn't anyone's fault but nature.

anecdote: while attending a family event in September, a family member challenged me (as the family's representative of the media, liberals, and deluded Bush-haters) to defend the media for "blaming the storm on Bush." I think i changed the subject to football.

later on i saw that charge all over the place, stated as evidence that

I belive that Brown should be blame for his actions. Although this was not anyone's fault but nature, the 9th ward should have been looked at long before this happened.

Regarding what Brown said/didn't say about Bush, here's something I saw in today's Blogometer:

Washington Post online columnist Dan Froomkin: "Apparently as a rejoinder to the new video, the White House yesterday suddenly sent around a transcript that it previously said didn't exist, from a conference call on the following day. It includes a second-hand account of Bush's activities

You're free to debate that assertion all you wish, MR. ANONYMOUS ALLCAPZ. Figuring out the best way to manage disaster preparedness is a great topic for discussion, and as someone who lives in the path of lots of hurricanes, it's a serious issue.

But if you read my post, you know that's not what I was writing about.

Blaming anyone for the results of a natural disaster is foolish. Those that do this are fools and if they are elected officials should certainly not be re-elected. If we choose to re-elect people who attempt to distance themselves from solutions and just blame others, what good are they doing the people who the represent?

WE CANT KEEP BLAMING THE FEDS FOR LOCAL CATASTROPHIES WHEN THE REAL BLAME IS LOCAL-STATE-FEDERAL LACK OF PREPAREDNESS. LET US MOVE ON AND GET A LIFE.
