New Apatar v1.12.13: Copy/Paste Connectors, Use Encrypted E-mail Connection, etc.

Thu, 18 Nov 2010 09:58:17 GMT

October, 31, 2010, Chicopee, MA – The Apatar Team has announced the release of Apatar Open Source Data Integration v1.12.13. It features improvements in the connector for E-mail and in the connector for Salesforce CRM, the ability to copy and paste datamap components, and other new functionality.

Ability to copy/paste datamap components

Starting with this build, Apatar users can copy and paste datamap components. This functionality is designed to save Apatar users time on project configuration. Now you can copy/paste both single and linked datamap components, selecting any part of the datamap (including connectors, operations, and functions). The functionality allows for copying them within one datamap file, between different datamap files, and even pasting the selection across multiple Apatar applications.

Encrypt e-mail connection, filter e-mails on the server level, etc.

The connector for E-mail provides now for setting up an encrypted connection. This improvement enables you to use secure connections while reading or sending e-mails. Another new feature enables to filter out e-mails on the mail server level. E-mail filtration will be helpful if you need to receive, for example, important e-mails from a certain customer, or need to find an e-mail with a certain subject. Finally, you can now retrieve either all, or unread mail from an IMAP mail server. This feature will be helpful if you need, for instance, to move your mail from a mail box to a CRM system.

Improvements in database connectors, Salesforce CRM connectivity, etc.

The build also features other updates: database connectors can now display views, not only tables; the improvements in the connector for Salesforce CRM prevent from exceeding the number of allowed query characters when updating the tables; Apatar now automatically transforms specified Long Text fields used at the "Join On" tab of the Join operation into Text fields, etc.

Apatar Open Source Data Integration features and benefits:

- No coding! Visual job designer and mapping enable non-developers to design and perform transformations, shortening implementation time.

- Distributed under an open source model, reducing integration and maintenance costs

- Connectivity to SugarCRM, Salesforce CRM, MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, GoldMine, IBM DB2, IBM AS/400, Sybase, PostgreSQL, dBase, EnterpriseDB, Vertica Analytic Database, vTiger, InnoDB, Firebird, Progress OpenEdge, Openbravo ERP, Compiere ERP, .CSV, EditGrid, XML, RSS/ATOM, HTTP queries, POP3, LDAP, FTP, WebDav, Autodesk Buzzsaw, any JDBC data sources, Amazon S3, Flickr, StrikeIron and CDYNE data quality Web services, and more

- Job scheduler and synchronization automate the data integration process.

- Improves data quality with a variety of verification, filtration, and validation features

- Platform-independent, runs from Windows, Linux, and Mac OS

New Apatar v1.12.12: Up To 200x Times Faster and Better Error-Resistance

Thu, 12 Aug 2010 08:00:15 GMT

August 12, 2010, Chicopee, MA – The Apatar Team announced the release of Apatar Open Source Data Integration v1.12.12. It features significant data processing speed-up (up to 200x), improvements in the connector for Salesforce CRM, and automatic log clearing. In addition, when working on the build, we decided to commit a sufficient amount of time to fixing bugs found over a long period of time. Working Up to 200x Faster For this new build, we deployed new methods for handling data sources with regards to the peculiarities of each data source, as well as improved transaction algorithms and PreparedStatetements mechanisms. All this allowed us to significantly speed up data processing in Apatar, enabling users to insert, update, or delete a large number of records up to 200x faster! This is especially true for all JDBC-based data connectors. Processing Salesforce CRM: Faster and Error-Resistant 1. The Apatar team also succeeded in sufficiently decreasing the number of API calls when working in the Update mode. Since certain editions of Salesforce CRM have the limit on API calls per day, users could have a limited number of transactions per day available. Updating each record required a separate API call, so, bearing in mind the limits, it could take a lot of time to update data in Salesforce CRM. We improved the process of sending records to SFDC, ensuring faster Salesforce CRM data updates, as well. 2. Error logging mechanism was also implemented to simplify the search for records that were failed to be sent to Salesforce CRM. Now Apatar keeps all the error-related information in a separate file, helping identify the problems that caused errors and fix them. (Please note that the feature is available if the connector for Salesforce CRM is configured to use Bulk API.) 3. Apatar no more sends API calls to Salesforce CRM if there are no records to process. In the previous app versions, data processing was started even if there were no records that satisfied the required conditions. So, extra time and API calls were spent in vain on empty records. Clearing Error Logs Automatically We also enabled Apatar to automatically clear debug and error logs of the previous sessions. So, now every time you click Run and Preview Results or File->Run, older logs are being erased to simplify the search for current errors. The feature can be easily disabled/enabled in the File->Options menu. Apatar Open Source Data Integration features and benefits: - No coding! Visual job designer and mapping enable non-developers to design and perform transformations, shortening implementation time - Distributed under an open source model, reducing integration and maintenance costs - Connectivity to SugarCRM, Salesforce CRM, MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, GoldMine, IBM DB2, IBM AS/400, Sybase, PostgreSQL, dBase, EnterpriseDB, Vertica Analytic Database, vTiger, InnoDB, Firebird, Progress OpenEdge, Openbravo ERP, Compiere ERP, .CSV, EditGrid, XML, RSS/ATOM, HTTP queries, POP3, LDAP, FTP, WebDav, Autodesk Buzzsaw, any JDBC data sources, Amazon S3, Flickr, StrikeIron and CDYNE data quality Web services, and more - Job scheduler and synchronization automate the data integration process - Improves data quality with a variety of verification, filtration, and validation features - Platform-independent, runs from Windows, Linux, and Mac OS Download The latest Apatar build can be downloaded at http://apatar.com/download.html About Apatar Apatar is the leading provider of open source software tools for the data integration market. Apatar Simplifies Migration of Customer History from GoldMine to Salesforce CRM, Reducing Workload by Factor of Five

Tue, 28 Oct 2008 05:44:34 GMT

New pre-built data integration solution from Apatar enables GoldMine to Salesforce CRM migration of customer activity history, prevents data loss, and ensures customer data quality, cutting development and maintenance costs. October 28, 2008, Chicopee, MA- Apatar, Inc., a provider of open source tools for data integration, today announced the GoldMine to Salesforce History Migration solution, which migrates client activity history between GoldMine and Salesforce CRM. This pre-build solution allows Apatar users to integrate e-mails, calendar events, invitations, and other history activities from the MS SQL instances of GoldMine to Salesforce CRM, linking each to the right contact. Apatar customers can also save time and avoid loss of data by setting the solution to preserve correct links between activities and the users to which they are assigned. Implementing this solution lowers development and maintenance workload up to a factor of five compared to manual programming. Most data migrations fail to meet expectations or never get built According to Standish Group, 30% of data migration projects fail, while Bloor Research study found 84% of data migrations fail to meet expectations. The problem often lies in making source data comply with target formats and standards, which requires a lot of time and efforts on the developer's side. That is why, to enable migration of GoldMine's History to Salesforce CRM, Apatar came up with a pre-built solution that automatically matches fields and tables between the two systems. By connecting records based on GoldMine contact IDs, Apatar preserves links between tables, eliminates errors, and prevents data loss during migration. "Avoiding manual coding, this solution will be of particular interest to corporate users of CRM systems,” said Renat Khasanshyn, founder and CEO of Apatar. “Migrating contact data or integrating customer history may take months of coding, lead to huge data losses, or simply fail. That’s where this pre-built solution comes into place, as, according to Gartner, 75 percent of leading companies are incapable of creating a unified view of the customer." Solution's features and benefits: - No coding! Pre-built mapping automatically matches fields and tables. - Ability to change mapping and transformation rules visually through a drag-and-drop interface - Avoid duplicated customer information by transferring only the primary e-mails of contacts - Custom SQL queries support within MS SQL-based GoldMine connectors - Reusable pre-built components non-intrusive to Salesforce CRM implementation lower maintenance costs. - Decrease development and maintenance workload up to a factor of five over manual programming - Reduce implementation costs Solution pricing and package The distributed package consists of a custom Apatar data integration application containing MS SQL and Salesforce conectors with pre-built fields/tables mapping. It will be distributed at the price of $995.00 per solution. There is also a promo offering of $499.00 per solution valid until November 30, 2008. Five hours of free support are included. Additional support can be purchased at the rate of $80 per hour. The package also includes a free detailed user guide.
