I have been contacted by Guy Lugo (the same person that I reached last week) and he has offered the following: 1- to see if the ASP can repair my computer, as well as identify the root cause of the repeated system board failures, which seems to be an overheating issue; 2- to send the computer to his engineers if the ASP cannot repair it, to allow them an opportunity to repair it; 3- to replace the computer if both the ASP and his engineers are unable to correct the problem; 4- to extend the warranty should a related problem arise within a couple of months of the warranty expiration day of 2/1/2008 (which will be accomplished by contacting him directly); 5- to provide to me (at no cost) restore CDs to replace the restore partition from the original hard drive that was wiped out when the hard drive was replaced under warranty (Toshiba originally wanted to charge me $30 for these discs). The computer is still at the repair center, pending the proper diagnosis of the overheating problem and subsequent repair. While I would prefer a replacement, if they can identify the overheating issue and put an end to the repeated system board failures, I will be satisfied.

Have the same problem with my toshiba. It was repaired 6 times and 3 times the hard drive we=as replaced. I reported this to BBB because toshiba wouldn't exchange product. Only Guy Lugo called me once- left voice mail. I called him back and left him a voicemail asking to call me at work. He never did.
