I started using Lucas UCL about a year ago due to knocking on cold days. I noticed a difference right away. The knocking stopped immediatly. I laso saw a MPG increase as well as a lower reading on my temp gauge. I have a friend that works at a parts store that can get a gallon jug for $15. He drives the same car as I do and he found the same to be true. I use it every other tank. SAAB 92X

I've never used it before but have been using Xtreme Fuel Treatment for almost a year. It takes about 1/4 ounce per 20 gallon tank and not only has my mpg increased about 14% but I've noticed a big difference in my performance and horsepower. Fewer oil changes and I even put it in my rototiller this summer and low and behold, no black smoke! It contains a combusion catalyst, detergents, lubricants fuel stabilizer, polumerization retardant and dispersant, rust inhibitor and demulsifier. It would take me $$$$$ to get all this individually. 1/4 costs about $4/$5. Love it!

Simply the best! I have a 1991 MB 300SE w/258k miles. It purrs like a kitten! Lucas is a sweet treat for my sweet ride! I love it and highly recommend it. By the way, I can use mid-grade instead of premium in my kitten because of Lucas!! Saves money and gas!

I just bought a small bottle of Lucas UCL for 4.99 at AutoZone in NC. I poured half the bottle in my tank when I got some gas and could tell a difference in how my car ran IMMEDIATELY. Great stuff!

Well I am a female and my check engine light came on in my Mitsubishi Endeavor 04. So I went to Autozone and the guy ran the test and said it was probably an old gas cap not sealing properly. So as I was in getting the gas cap he recommended the Lucas UCL and I was so hesitant and asked tons of questions. I reluntantly bought it very skeptical. I went from approx. 280 miles tank to 350 miles a tank. Now if my calculations are correct that's a 20% increase in gas mileage efficiency. I was told to only use Lucas every time I change the oil (3000 miles). I have still gotten way over 300 miles every tank. I was about 16 mpg before and now I'm about 20 mpg. My Endeavor has 114000 approx miles. Gas is about $3 gallon, so I figure $4.62 bottle of Lucas from Walmart saves me approx. $112 every 3000 miles or $107 after I take out the cost of the bottle. :)

My wife and I discussed this after Maddy's passing, and yes, I think we would do the same thing again. We both believe that we made the right choice for Maddy.

It was a difficult decision, whether to amputate, euthanize, or just let her live it out, but we knew two things for certain: 1) Maddy was miserable the way she was -- she had been our first kid, and we knew her well; (2) Euthanasia could only end one way -- death. What we didn't know was how she would respond to amputation -- but we knew that it would at least give her a chance.

For most of the five months after the amputation, Maddy was happier and more active than she had been for months. She actually ran faster on three legs than she had when she was healthy running on four. We took her for frequent walks, and our two children became much closer to Maddy. They had time to prepare themselves for the inevitable and to create new memories with her that will last them a lifetime.

I can't imagine ever making any different decision, given the same (or similar) situation. We said it would be quite some time before getting another dog. Now we have two: a Chihuahua and a Bishon. That final months with Maddy taught us just how important a loving pet can be, and just how easy it can be to take it for granted.

Thanks for your comments. Our prayers are with you and your Doberman -- that you'll do what is right for the dog.

Hi there,

Wondering if you had it to do over again, would you amputate? Or make her comfortable and consider putting her to sleep as the pain got worse?

They say bone pain in the worst there is. I'm leaning towards euthanasia for my 9yo doberman - his lungs may be clear, but every time he trips or hops, I'm afraid his leg will just snap. I'm worried if I put him through the surgery, it will be a selfish decision that he will not understand. And he is already not himself.

And there is no Terra Haute near here.

Thanks,
Joelle

Yes, I have read Green. Probably the best of the entire Circle saga, second only to Black. It makes you wonder how much he had planned in advance before putting the first word down.

You can find my review of Green here.

2009-12-13T20:49:40.517-05:00

I understand what you were saying. And I am not disagreeing with you. (At least on the original post – not sure we are on the same page as it relates to affirmative action and the confederate flag.)

The point I was trying to make is that symbols are very important. Symbolism, in the hands of one who knows how to use it, is the most powerful of tools (or weapons). Symbolism is what brings tears to my eyes when hearing the national anthem. It is why we pledge loyalty to a flag.

And it does not matter why a particular symbol was first created. It does not matter what a particular symbol means in an intellectual sense. What matters is what the masses believe that it stands for. What the people believe that it means. Because that symbol will evoke that particular feeling in the masses.

So, if the masses believe that “Xmas” is a secular way to express “Christmas”, then that is exactly what “Xmas” means. I have not seen any studies on this, but it does seem that many people (perhaps a majority) believe that using the letter “X” is an attempt to remove Christ from Christmas.

“Gay” used to mean “happy”. But today the term “gay” refers to a homosexual. And even if you use the word “gay” in a sentence that pretty clearly shows that you are using it for is old meaning of “happy”, the reader will subconsciously flash on the thought of homosexual. So “gay” means “homosexual”, because that it how the masses view it.

And I suspect that even if you educate the reader every time you use the word “Xmas”, if that person already sees the “X” as a slight to Christ, then that reader is distracted from the message you were actually trying to send.

Perhaps, if we all started using the term “Xmas” rather than “Christmas”, over time we could reclaim the feelings evoked by the word, and a person’s emotions would flash on Christ, rather than secularism. But it is a gamble. If it fails, we may have unintentionally pushed the celebration to a more secular position.

Remember, the author is not important. The reader is important. What the reader interprets is what matters.

Happy Holidays. ;-)

2009-12-13T14:32:53.287-05:00

Thanks for your comments.

Just as the Confederate flag can only wave freely when we discard the notion of "affirmative action" and truly embrace equality, only when we as a community of Christ-followers accept the term "Merry Xmas" for what it really is can we defeat those who intentionally use the 'X' to eliminate Christ from Christmas.

I, as an individual, have never owned a slave or discriminated against a race in such a way as the slaves experienced discrimination. And no one I know has ever been a slave or experienced that type of discrimination. It's time for us to label slavery as a fact of history and to rise above it as a nation of equal peoples.

Similarly, it is time for we Christ-followers to rise above the attempts of others to eliminate Christ from the world and show to them, as I have attempted to do here, that their attempts are misdirected and malformed.

If you sent me a Birthday card that said, "Happy B-day," would I infer that you were trying to remove me from my own birthday? Or that you were trying to remove the fact that I was born from the history of that day? That would be absurd.

Merry Xmas to all!

I like your Xmas article. But I have found that ...

2009-12-13T14:05:10.146-05:00

I like your Xmas article.

But I have found that the true origin of a symbol, or a word, is not what is important. Perhaps it should be important, but it isn’t. What matters is how the object is viewed in present time, by the majority of people. The emotions evoked by a specific word or symbol is what is important. For example, the Confederate Stars and Bars flag is not a symbol of racism. In fact, the Civil War was not really fought to free the slaves. But the majority of people today believe that this war WAS fought to free the slaves, and the majority of people see the Confederate flag as a symbol of racial hatred. Because of this, the Confederate flag evokes the feelings of racism and hatred. So the Confederate flag IS a symbol of hatred. And people do not want to be educated about the truth.

So, while I agree with you about the Xmas issue, I am afraid that the “X”, in the minds of the masses, will remain an attempt to remove Christ from Christmas.

For many years now, I have been abbreviating it by writing “CMas” rather than “Xmas”. And strangely enough, I have been complimented for doing that – because the “C” clearly stands for Christ. Humorous. I just smile at the comments…

Ignorance is killing the country.

Thought I would chime in.. I use lucas UCL in a 99 ford f150 that has almost 200k.. been using since 125k and the truck is running better than it did new. As a matter of fact I use it in all my lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc with equally good results! I dont make many recommendations, but this is one thing I wouldnt want to be without, buy it by the gallon and save some $$

My H6 2004 subaru mileage dropped about 20% after using lucas from 26 to 22. Hard to isolate if that was the cause, but wondering if it fouled the O2 sensors.

If you think Lucas Fuel Treatment is good, try Gumout Regane. You only have to use it every 3000 miles instead of every tank. Sure it's around 6 bucks a bottle, but Lucas would cost you $40 or so over 3000 miles. Worth a try - I think the stuff is great, and I've tried both Gumout and Lucas.
