Oy vey! The great kitniyot debate!

Chag sameach!

BTW I've started an additional blog at www.moshiach-truth.blogspot.com dedicated to combatting the spiritual genocide of the Jewish people.

MII: From your mouth to the humrah fanatics ears.

There are two definitions of a qitnith:

1. A seed which is the primarily part of the plant which is eaten {GR"A}

2. You can make a flour like substance from it.

The ruling against peanuts is relatively recent.

Rape seed could technically be considered a qitnith.

Even many qitniyoth-shunners believe that by products of qitnioth are OK.

This is why the reasoning behind the shunning of cotton seed oil escapes me. It is only safeq qitnith. How many people do you know have the habit of eating cotton seeds?

We're not planning to eat kitniyot anytime soon, but we are using canola oil. It's not kitniyot.

It's not just the humous, buddy {which you could always try after Pesah}, it's everything from Canola oil to rice to lentils.

Just for the record, those who go by various humroth, and who are good cooks are very creative. There's not a lot to eat especially if you don't eat gebrux {which I'm guessing you do} and don't even eat anything w/o a peel, except maybe lettuce and celery.

so is the hummous-matzoh combo any good?

did you make that pashkevil?

In case anyone really wants to know what it says... "Yankel the Ashkenazy Jew from Kfar Tapuach..ae kitniyos n Pesach. Gevalt!"

I hardly know yiddish, but this was pretty basic... I hope you enjoyed the chummos on your matzoh.
