As in the title of this blog, there are personal security devices for protection that can prevent loss of life or serious injury and that is something I am a true advocate of. However, there are times when loss cannot be prevented, as in the loss of my best friend and her husband to a fatal car accident. Then there was, two weeks later, the loss of my elderly friend who granted was in her 80’s but none the less will be sorely missed. It was during this time that I reflected on loss and how hard it really is on the ones left behind.
