They come and they go, never lasting long. You must accept them.12) I am the Atma abiding in the heart of all beings. I am also the beginning, the middle, and the end of all beings.13) It is Nature that causes all movement.14) It is I who remain seated in the heart of all creatures as the inner controller of all; and it is I who am the source of memory, knowledge and the ratiocinativefaculty. Again, I am the only object worth knowing through the Vedas; I alone am the origin of Vedānta and the knower of the Vedas too.15) The wise unify their consciousness and abandon attachment to the fruits of action.16) You have control over doing your respective duty, but no control or claim over the result. Fear of failure, from being emotionally attached to the fruit of work, is the greatest impediment to success because it robs efficiency by constantly disturbing the equanimity of mind.17) Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth.18) Selfish action imprisons the world. Act selflessly, without any thought of personal profit.19) A yogi is greater than the ascetic, greater than the empiricist and greater than the fruitive worker. Therefore, O Arjuna, in all circumstances, be a yogi.20) For even if the greatest sinner worships me with all his soul, he must be considered righteous, because of his righteous will. And he shall soon become pure and reach everlasting peace. For this is my word of promise, that he who loves me shall not perish.21) I am time, the destroyer of all; I have come to consume the world.22) The cause of the distress of a living entity is forgetfulness of his relationship with God.23) Lust, anger, and greed are the three doors to hell.24) From anger, complete delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. When memory is bewildered, intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost one falls down again into the material pool.25) For man, mind is the cause of bondage and mind is the cause of liberation. Lord Shiva Famous Temple Chidambaram Temple

Wed, 01 Mar 2017 14:37:00 +0000

Chidambaram is one among the five holiest Shiva Temples, each representing one of the five natural elements; Chidambaram represents akasha (ether). The other four temples in this category are the Thiruvanaikaval Jambukeswara,Trichy (water), Kanchi Ekambareswara (earth) Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswara (fire),Thiruvannamalai and Kalahasti Nathar (wind),Kalahasti. Chidambaram temple is one of the most ancient and most celebrated of shrines in India. It has been of great religious as well as historic and cultural significance. Chidambaram temple is mainly associated with Nataraja, or Shiva in his Ananda Tandava pose (the Cosmic Dance of bliss) in the cosmic golden hall and the hall of consciousness (Chit Sabha). At the temple there is a stone image of Krishnadevaraya in the North Gopura which is said to have been erected by him. In the wars of the 18th century, this great temple was used as a fort, especially when the British General Sir Eyre Coote unsuccesfully tried to capture it from the Mysore Kings. During this period, the images of Nataraja and Sivakamasundari were housed in the Tiruvarur Tyagaraja temple for safety. Legends associated with this temple are Aadi Sesha, the serpent (couch) of Vishnu, heard from Vishnu the grandeur of Shiva's cosmic dance. Filled with irrepressable desire to witness this dance in person at Chidambaram, the Seshan descended to the earth as Patanjali (the one who descended). Vyagrapaadar who is another devotee of Shiva prayed to obtain the tiger's claws so that he could obtain with ease the sacred Vilva leaves meant for Shiva's worship at Chidambaram. At the appointed hour, Shiva (with Sivakami) granted to Patanjali and Vyagrapaadar, a visual treat in the form of his Cosmic Dance of Bliss, to the accompaniments of music played by several divine personalities in the Hindu pantheon. This Dance of Bliss is said to have been witnessed by Vishnu, and there is a Govindaraja shrine in the Natarajar temple commemorating this. The dance of bliss of Shiva, is also said to have been enacted upon Shiva's (Bhikshatana) victory over the married ascetics of Daruka Vanam. The second son of Lord Shiva, and Goddess Parvati is also known as Subramaniam, Skanda, Guha,Murugan, Shadannana or Sanmukha . He represents a person of perfection. Story Of Amarnath Cate Temple Rig Veda refer Shiva as Rudra as in its following verse . "We Worship Tryambaka (Rudra) , Who spread Fragrance and Increases Nourishment , May He release me, like the cucumber from its stem, From Mortal Life, But not From Immorality. "(Rig Veda Mandal VII Sukta 59 and Mantra 12). The Yajurveda describes Lord Siva as ascetic warrior Whose robe is of Deer Skin and he carries Trishul. According to the verse Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram the life is described as having three facets TRUTH (Satyam), GOOD (Shivam) and the BEAUTIFUL (Sundaram). Shiva is a living God. The most Sacred and ancient books of India, the Rig Veda narrates his presence in the hymns. Vedic myths, rituals and even astronomy testifies to His existence from the dawn of time. The Mohenjodaro and Harappa findings confirm Shiva worship in the ancient India. According to the older scriptures, He has three places of his residence:One is Kailash ParvatAnother is Lohit Giri (under which Brahamputra flows) and Third is Muzwan Parvat. The Amarnath Cave has special significance. The Legend about the importance of Amarnath Cave is as follows :- This is The Cave which was chosen by Bhole Shankar for narrating the secrets of immortality and creation of Universe to Maa Parvati ji. The story goes like this. Centuries ago Maa Parvati asked Shiv ji to let her know why and when he started wearing the beads of heads ( Mund Mala). Bhole Shankar replied when ever you are born I add one more head in my beads. Maa Parvati said, " My Lord, my body is destroyed every time and I die again and again, but you are Immortal. Please let me know the secret of this ." Bhole Shankar replied that it is due to Amar Katha ." Maa Parvati insisted that she may be told that secret. For long Shiva ji continued postponing . Finally on consistent demand from Maa Parvati he made up his mind to tell the immortal secret . He started for lonely place where no living being could listen it. He choose Amarnath Cave. In preparation to that he left his Nandi ( The Bull which he used to ride ) at Pahalgam (Bail gaon). At Chandanwari he released Moon from his hairs (Jataon). At the banks of Lake Sheshnag he released the snakes. He decided to leave his son Ganesha at Mahagunas Parvat (Mahaganesh Hill). At Panchtarni, Shivji left the Five Elements behind (Earth ,Water, Air , Fire and Sky) which make living being. He is the Lord of these elements. It is believed that as a symbol of sacrificing the earthly world, Shivaji and Maa Parvati had Tandav Dance. After leaving behind all these, Bhole Shankar enters the Holy Amarnath Cave along with Parvati Maa. Lord Shiva takes his Samadhi on the Deer Skin and concentrate . To ensure that no living being is able to hear the Immortal Tale, He created Rudra named Kalagni and ordered him to spread fire to eliminate every living thing in and around the Holy Cave. After this he started narrating the secret of immortality to Maa Parvati. But as a matter of chance one egg which was lying beneath the Deer skin remained protected. It is believed to be non living and more over it was protected by Shiva -Parvati Asan (Bed). The pair of pigeons which were born out of this egg became immortal having listened the secret of immortality (Amar Katha). Many pilgrims report seeing the pair of pigeons when they trek the arduous route to pay their obeisance before the Ice-Lingam (the phallic symbol of Shiva). [...]

The history of Tuljabhavani Mata Temple has been mentioned in the "skanda puran". There was a sage known as "Kardam" After his death his wife "Anubuti" had performed a penance at the banks of river "mandakini " for Bhavani mata to look after her infant child. While performing the penance the demon known "Kukur" tried to disturb her penance during which Mata Bhavani came to the aid of "Anubuti" and killed the demon "Kukur". From that day onwards the Goddess Bhavani came to be known as Tulja Bhavani. The temple is located on the hill of "Bala ghat". The same place is today known as Tuljapur. The Idol: The Idol of the Shree Tulja Bhavani mata is a "swayambu" idol. The goddess is having eight hands sitting on a thrown. The goddess bhavanee’s favorite animal for riding is the lion. So it is set up. The main room-or-gaabhara (sanctuary) is also made up of stones. In it stands the main idol of Bhavanee Mata. The idol is carved out of a special black stone (gandakee-stone). On the right a lion is carved out. On the left there is the lady-devotee viz. Anubhooti. Near the right shoulder there is moon and near the left shoulder the sun is carved. The idol has eight hands. Various types of weapons are in her palms. In one of her right palms she holds a trishoola (a three pointed spear) which she has stabbed in the chest of a demon Mahishasura. Her right foot is pressed on the demon. The left leg is straight on the ground. Between her two legs there is the beheaded head of a he-buffalo. The idol is artistically carved out. It is not fixed in the ground. It is moved on some special auspicious festivals. The goddess has worn a crown and some of her long hair has come out from the crown. The idol is about three feet in height. Behind the temple a big, smooth, ball shaped, black stone is kept. It is known as ‘Chintamanee stone’. (Wish-full-filling-stone). An innocent devotee keeps his both palms on the stone and thinks of his problem. If the stone – ball moves on the right side his problem gets solved. If the stone moves on the left side his problem does not get solved. It is a matter of belief and one has to pay meager change for that. Shri Mahalaxmi Mata Kolhapur Latest Image GallerySaraswati Mata Image GalleryDurga Mata Latest Image Gallery [...]
