Yesterday, we had a hackathon at Microsoft Japan using the Kinect For Windows sensor and SDK. It was fun to take the samples and try to create some fun and some serious applications using the Kinect.

I am working on an incredible team in Japan. They have been gracious in welcoming me to the team and patient during the time we learn to communicate better with each other through language and culture learning. Everyday that I have a chance to work side-by-side with them, I'm amazed

I just passed my first two months in Japan. I'm now on a business trip back to the US and reconnecting with a lot of people who are, of course, asking me "How is it going?" It's a bit hard to answer because so many things are still just new

Today I had the opportunity to speak at the Open Source Conference in Hokkaido. It was a great conference with a lot of developers and IT Pros who are passionate about using and contributing to Open Source Software.

Day 2 of de:code brought another set of great sessions. I am truely impressed with the evangelists in Microsoft Japan. The quality of their presentations was very high. I've met many evangelists around the world, and the evangelists in Japan are among the best.
