New Post: sharepoint hosted app shows blank page

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 07:06:33 GMT

I am quite new to Sharepoint Apps. Following the below steps, have created a SharePoint hosted App in SP 2016 on premise farm; Configuring an “on-premise” development environment for Apps for SharePoint Step 1: Create an Isolated App Domain If you want to create and deploy SharePoint Hosted apps, you must create an isolated app domain where your apps for SharePoint will run. 1. Start the SharePoint 2013 Management Shell. • net start spadminv4 • net start sptimerv4 Create your isolated app domain your apps, for example "apps.practise.com". • Set-SPAppDomain "apps.practise.com" Ensure that the SPSubscriptionSettingsService and AppManagementServiceInstance services are running. • Get-SPServiceInstance | where{$_.GetType().Name -eq "AppManagementServiceInstance" -or $_.GetType().Name -eq "SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceInstance"} | Start-SPServiceInstance Verify that the SPSubscriptionSettingsService and AppManagementServiceInstance services are running. • Get-SPServiceInstance | where{$_.GetType().Name -eq "AppManagementServiceInstance" -or $_.GetType().Name -eq "SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceInstance"} You must specify a farm admin account under which the SPSubscriptionService and AppManagementServiceInstance services will run. This farm admin account must be an SPManagedAccount. If your farm admin is not an SPManagedAccount, you can create a SPManagedAccount with your farm admin credentials by typing the following command in the SharePoint Management Shell (You will be prompted for the farm admin domain\user and password). • $account = New-SPManagedAccount Specify a farm admin account, application pool, and database settings for the SPSubscriptionService and AppManagementServiceInstance services. $account = Get-SPManagedAccount "domain\username" $appPoolSubSvc = New-SPServiceApplicationPool -Name SettingsServiceAppPool -Account $account $appPoolAppSvc = New-SPServiceApplicationPool -Name AppServiceAppPool -Account $account $appSubSvc = New-SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceApplication –ApplicationPool $appPoolSubSvc –Name SettingsServiceApp –DatabaseName SettingsServiceDB $proxySubSvc = New-SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceApplicationProxy –ServiceApplication $appSubSvc $appAppSvc = New-SPAppManagementServiceApplication -ApplicationPool $appPoolAppSvc -Name AppServiceApp -DatabaseName AppServiceDB $proxyAppSvc = New-SPAppManagementServiceApplicationProxy -ServiceApplication $appAppSvc Step 2: Start the Required Services To verify this, click Start -> point to Administrative Tools -> and then click Services. In the Services list, verify that the SharePoint Administration and SharePoint Timer services are running. For apps to work, you need to have the App Management and Subscriptions Settings Service Applications configured. Before creating these service applications verify that the following services are running in the Manage Services on Server page. • App Management Service • Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings service You can verify the same from the Services on Server page in central admin. Step 3: Configure App URLs To configure App URLs using Central Admin, follow the below mentioned steps. • In Central Admin, click on Apps. • In Apps page, click on Configure App URLs. • In the App domain box, type the app domain that was created earlier for hosting apps. In our case we have used app.practice.com. • In the App Prefix box, type a name to use for the URL prefix for the apps. • Click OK. • Open Visual Studio 2013 instance and select App for SharePoint 2013 template to create the project. • Select SharePoint-hosted as the hosting platform for our app. • Put the site collection URL on which we want to deploy app. (Site collection template should be developer site). • Here App file is our main JavaScript file where the entire logic is there and default.aspx is the landing page of the app where we will reference the App file. • If you look at the App file, [...]

New Post: Analytics Not working after windows and SharePoint Security updates installed in SharePoint 2013

Sat, 25 Feb 2017 16:25:56 GMT

I was installed windows updates and SharePoint Security updates in SharePoint 2013, next day on words Analytics not working, Everything working as expected but no metrics in the Popularity trends and most Popular Items, Showing Zero results.

"EventStore" in the MicroSoft Office servers is empty after Windows updates.

1) All the related Timer jobs are running,

2) "Analytics" and "Page Request" receivers are enabled,

Tried below Script Also:

Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell $aud = Get-SPUsageDefinition | where {$_.Name -like "Analytics*"}

if($aud.Receivers.Count -eq 0) { $aud.Receivers.Add("Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Applications, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c", "Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Analytics.Internal.AnalyticsCustomRequestUsageReceiver") }

if($aud.EnableReceivers -eq $false) { $aud.EnableReceivers = $true $aud.Update() } $aud | fl $prud = Get-SPUsageDefinition | where {$_.Name -like "Page Requests"}

if($prud.Receivers.Count -eq 0) { $prud.Receivers.Add("Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Applications, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c", "Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Analytics.Internal.ViewRequestUsageReceiver")
}

if page requests usage definition receiver is not enabled then enable it

if($prud.EnableReceivers -eq $false) { $prud.EnableReceivers = $true $prud.Update() } $prud | fl 3) In the "Get-SPUsageDefinition" everything is fine.

4) Restarted the Timer Services.

5) ImportProgress.ini file configured correctly.

6) Did Search Index reset, and Continues is crawl running.

7) Cleared all log files and reconfigured.

How can I resolve this issue?

New Post: How a SharePoint based case management system (MetaCaseDesk) can help in building customer loyalty?

Thu, 28 Apr 2016 20:26:53 GMT

Customer loyalty to an enterprise or organization hinges on the level of customer service rendered. The latter should be of high quality, consistent efforts should be made to improve the level of service and a customer centric approach must be adopted and implemented. Case management systems are not restricted to the legal or medical industry, but encompass other areas as well.

With case management software, the firm is able to consolidate all the information that concerns a case in one central repository and provide users with the tools they need to do their work – whether they’re resolving an issue, managing a claim, handling an investigation, fulfilling a service request or on boarding an employee.

Created Unassigned: Format sharepoint form field labels using js link [43107]

Thu, 07 May 2015 11:33:27 GMT

Hi there,

I want to format(change color) sharepoint form field labels using js link property of webpart

I am using the following code to achieve it

SPClientTemplates.TemplateManager.RegisterTemplateOverrides({
OnPostRender: function(ctx) {
var rows = ctx.ListData.Row;
for (var i=0;i{
var isApproved = rows[i]["_ModerationStatus"] == "Approved";
if (isApproved)
{
var rowElementId = GenerateIIDForListItem(ctx, rows[i]);
var tr = document.getElementById(rowElementId);
tr.style.backgroundColor = "green";
}
}
}
});

Just got this piece of code from some site.The diifiulty is it is not working.

To render the js link I have saved the above script in ~sitecollection/_catalogs/masterpage/formatting

When I check using developer tool it gives me jquery is not defined error. Although I already have a jquery running on another list in the same site.

Can somebody please help me with this code or help with some code to achieve the task.

I know it can be easily done using infopath but I have a difficulty in using Infopath to achieve other requirements.

Many thanks in advance.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

New Post: Credential prompt in SharePoint

Thu, 29 Jan 2015 08:23:45 GMT

Hi Team,

Once I log in using the credentials in sharepoint I need to do this for each document I try to open.

So click on a link to some document in SharePoint, input the credentials and it works fine
but if I then try to open another document the same Windows Security window pops up.
I enter the credentials again the document opens but if I open another........................etc etc
you get the picture I think.

I would like to know how can i get out of it without using the credential again and again.

Appreciate your response at the earliest.

Thanks

Regards,
Shiny Joseph
