What Dovid Would Put in a Backpack

2017-08-18T19:09:44.973-04:00

Scotties has partnered with Kids In Need Foundation to provide underprivileged students with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. When children are unprepared without the proper supplies, they tend to do poorly in school. To combat this, Scotties is donating full backpacks with everything a child could need for school. They have challenged us to take a video of a child answering the question “If you could put one thing in a backpack and then give it to a kid who needed help getting through the school day, what would that one thing be and why?” For each video created and shared on social media they will donate one backpack. Here is Dovid's response.

We encourage you to share your own video on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with #ReadySetSchool and tag Scotties in your post:

Scotties Cat and Kitten Adoption Event

2017-06-20T02:26:25.008-04:00

For their fourth year in a row, Scotties Facial Tissues held their Cat and Kitten Adoption Event with three animal rescues: The Animal Protective Foundation (Albany, NY), Boston MSPCA (Boston, MA), and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay (Tampa, FL). Each organization was given $5000 to go toward cat adoption costs, allowing families to more easily adopt cats who have already been spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and screened. During the first week in June, over 400 cats were adopted through this program, making it a hugely successful event!

Are you thinking about adopting a cat? Even if you missed this wonderful opportunity, you can still visit your local shelters to give a cat or kitten their furr-ever home. Here are some great reasons to adopt:

We love our two cats, Merlin and Morgan. Hopefully we will have a few more years with both of them, but if something happens to either of them we will be keeping this event in mind for future years. Happy adopting!

"Healey's Cave: a Sam Moore Mystery" Book Review & Giveaway CLOSED

2017-06-20T02:22:42.472-04:00

From 1992 to 1998 I went to summer camp in Canada every year. I cherish the time I spent there and wish I could give the same experiences to my children, but they have very different traditions than I did. Every year, my kids get to visit their aunt and uncle in Washington, DC for one week over the summer. One week without parents! My youngest went for the first time this year, but without the three older ones. Tomorrow the three older kids will fly down to DC, leaving me with only one child for about 10 days. I may get spoiled!

Every year I get to see the amazing pictures that my sister and brother-in-law take of the kids. They always have a great deal of fun and come back with stories of the adventures they had. Last year, they even went camping!

I'm looking forward to once again hearing about all of the fun they had, though I will definitely miss them while they're away.

Scotties Tissues is offering up a $25 Amazon gift card and a Scotties care package to one of my lucky readers. See entry options below and good luck!

Dreamgirl Ladies Choice Babydoll Lingerie Review

2011-07-31T19:56:20.146-04:00

Once I lose the baby weight, I'm looking forward to getting back into lingerie. My philosophy with lingerie is "less is more." The less you show the better...as long as you have the body to do it, which I don't at the moment.

The Dreamgirl Ladies Choice Babydoll has a fly away front and is made of ultra-sheer mesh. The elastic empire waist (my favorite kind) is decorated with sequins. The baby doll ties as a halter at the neck and at the back as well, making it truly one size fits most. It also comes with a matching thong, and although I don't like thongs, I figure how long is it really going to stay on anyway?!
My Take:
I just love the color purple, and it's always great to have an excuse to wear something with sequins. I'm looking forward to getting my figure back so I can actually wear this, although I could fit into it now I wouldn't want to scare off my hubby. It's pretty amazing how one piece of lingerie could fit me from skinny to large!

Cost: You can buy the Dreamgirl Ladies Choice Babydoll for $15.99 + shipping.

Overall: We give the Dreamgirl Ladies Choice Babydoll a 9/10!

We were sent the Dreamgirl Ladies Choice Babydoll from Lingerie.com free of charge for the sole purpose of this review; no other compensation was received. All opinions expressed are my own.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
