Three railway staff have been detained after a deadly train collision took place in Iran's north-central province of Semnan on Friday. The accident happened when a passenger train in motion crashed to another one that had stopped at the station. 45 died and over 100 got wounded.

News reports say an Iranian helicopter based at a Caspian Sea oil platform crashed late on November 26, killing all five people onboard. The helicopter belonged to the Oil Ministry and was carrying an engineer with heart trouble to the hospital when it crashed, the German news agency dpa reported, citing Iranian media.



Germany OKs 1.2 Billion Euro Loan For Iran Rail Plan

Death toll in train collision in Semnan, Iran reaches 44

At least 44 died and 100 got wounded after two passenger trains collided in Iran's north-central province of Semnan. So far, 80 of the injured have been transferred to nearby hospitals and 20 got outpatient care, IRNA quoted Mostafa Mortazavi, an official with Iran's Red Crescent Society as saying.
