I wonder if these people think it's a good idea to send emails like this. I can't see any website owner just saying, oh yeah, I'll put your link on my site, no problem. I don't get it.

I've had some success by already placing a link to their site on one of my other sites. Then I talk to them about linking to a good content site, which would be mine. Thanks

That's good. I like your comment at least you prove to them that not all nigeria are scammers.

Some good things do come from Nigeria you know. Nigeria is not just about scammers. There are real hard working individuals living and earning legitimate income in Nigeria. Never mind the fact that the BLACK SHEEP, the con artists and the rogues get the publicity. I'm proudly Nigerian!

So they were an authentic company and not just a made up one? I thought when this things would arrive on your email mostly this kind of references were mostly mock up.

Why are there still companies out there trying to sell their services to build links for you?

Well, it's pretty true that this letter won't be helpful to get more links! I came across an article saying that to get a link from a good website, you better write a sincere review of that website as a blog in your blog before asking them to link to you!

The last of the 3 examples you gave cracked me up, I get those all the time in my GMail spam folder.

These are BS emails that go straight into my Junk Mail Box. If i like the content on your site or if it is useful to my visitors, i will definitely link to you. That is quite simple, but they seem to be too stupid to realise it. So Sad...Okie! I have read more than enough of your blog posts to determine the fact that your blog well deserved a link from my site. (Or maybe i deserved to link to your blog.) Whichever the case is, i am linking to you. Cheers - Rif Chia
