Comment on Incheon Airport – the best in the world? by Airport Lounge

Mon, 26 Apr 2010 20:30:41 +0000

Bet it's not as good as Heathrow though.... ! (Joke). I have news for you. Singapore Changi Airport took the SkyTrax World's Best Airport Award 2010 (the most respected award). It is pretty impressive. You would have thought Dubai would be better, at it's newer and they have spent more on it, but it's not. Overcrowded, not enough seating and best we don't talk about the staff....!

Comment on Room service was here by Hek

That is hilarious, i got a similar not from my ayi except it was the opposite request. I trash my apartment during the week and my ayi comes twice a week to clean it. Last month she left a note in chinese that I needed my friend to translate, essentially it read, " you cannot keep apartment clean. you cannot wash clothes or dishes. Cannot cook or take out garbage. Do more work". I was dumbfounded at the note. If I wanted to clean, i could do that but thats why i paid to get an ayi! hek

Comment on Beijing Traffic by Eric Yee

I think what China is doing during the Olympics is a good idea. They have decided to only allow vehicles on the road who's license plate number begins with an odd number on some days and license plates starting with even numbers on the other days. This will encourage car pooling and mass transit and will result in less congestion. Another solution which is currently happening, thanks to the Olympics as well, is more subway lines. This will also reduce congestion because of a more convenient method of transportation. I think the Olympics is bringing Beijing a better change for the future. Even the local people can't handle the craziness. And I'm hoping the government will continue to think about these problems to find better solutions.

Indeed! One solution might be significant congestion charges (not necessarily for taxis) and construction of Bus Rapid Transfer all over the city, managing the huge mobility demand. What are your ideas?

Hey, I recently saw the Warlords movie too and it was pretty good. Just FYI there's a movie theater across from 双安商场 called 华星国际影城 or UME Cineplex Beijing. It has English subtitles for some of its films.
