2019 Toyota Avalon vs. full-size sedans: How they compare on paper

Mon, 23 Apr 2018 11:50:00 EDT

(image) Full-size sedans aren't exactly in great demand at the moment, and at least one of the vehicles in this comparison has been rumored to be on the endangered species list. Yet, we've just had our first drive in the 2019 Toyota Avalon, and if anything has a chance of rejuvenating the segment a bit, it's an all-new version of what has long been the segment's benchmark.

Ford Mustang hybrid coming in 2020 [UPDATE]

Thu, 19 Apr 2018 15:15:00 EDT

(image) We love driving the Ford Mustang. We've got one — a GT — in the Autoblog stable at the moment, and the keys to that V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive beast are highly coveted in the office. Some of us (well, maybe just this particular author) feel a tinge of guilt, though, when we fire it up and lustfully rev the engine. We can't help but think of the fuel it gulps on our spirited commutes home. For those of us with a heavy conscience, it looks like we'll be getting a greener offering in

2019 Range Rover 400e PHEV First Drive Review | Elegant SUV for a more civilized age

Wed, 11 Apr 2018 10:01:00 EDT

(image) About halfway through, right as the water touched the top of the wheels, someone made a joke about electrocuting the fish in the Duke of Marlborough's lake with our 2019 Range Rover 400e plug-in hybrid. Despite the 400e's 35.4-inch wading depth — the same as every other Range Rover model — the thought of driving a hybrid SUV through a lake was disconcerting. In the end, the fish were fine. We can't say the same for some of the Duke's pheasants.

Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo sets unrestricted lap time at Spa-Francorchamps

Mon, 09 Apr 2018 16:35:00 EDT

(image) Race cars, no matter what level or series, are always limited by rules and regulations. Some are highly restrictive while others offer a lot of freedom within defined parameters. At the end of the day there are always compromises. After the 2017 season, Porsche pulled out of the LMP1 WEC prototype class. Still, the team wasn't quite finished with the car. This year, Porsche plans to lap an unrestricted version of the LMP1 car, the 919 Hybrid Evo, at various tracks around the world. It all starte

Acura NSX roadster finally on its way this year?

Mon, 09 Apr 2018 08:20:00 EDT

(image) Autobild put together a slideshow forecasting various convertibles due to arrive from 2018 to 2023. The long-prophesied Acura NSX Roadster graced the first slide, reportedly prepped for market launch later this year at a price of 200,000 euros. That's about 13,000 euros more spendy than the hardtop, a relative bargain. Don't call your Goldman private banker yet, though — that Autobild slide is likely as close as any of us will get to said roadster this year.

2019 Toyota RAV4 actually looks pretty cool

Wed, 28 Mar 2018 00:01:00 EDT

(image) Quick, what was Toyota's best-selling vehicle in America last year? If you said Camry or Corolla, you were close, but in fact it was the RAV4. It sold over 400,000 units last year, topping the next best-selling Camry by about 20,000 cars. And this was despite the fact that the current RAV4 is roughly 5 years old, and the Camry was completely redesigned, and improved, last year. That makes the RAV4 monumentally important to the Japanese carmaker. Thankfully, though, instead of playing it safe and
