I looked at Yahoo Pipes but it seemed such a hassle to set up. I found FeedRinse to be much better, easier and faster.

Nice tutorial - I see using this method to weed out countless posts about current affairs. For the geekier amongst us, I recommend using Yahoo Pipes - I've already tried it, and guys like quickonlinetips.com use it for the regular blog feed too (to mashup his blog, tumblog and buzz).

Another way to achieve this is to use Pipes, I did similar to rinse a feed from the local newspaper so that it only gave me stories about the football team and not any of the other sports it reported on.
