Any Ideas to Insure the America People?

Fri, 17 Apr 2009 14:14:00 +0000

We all know the American economy is in a slump and one of the issues on the table is the rising amount of uninsured Americans. President Obama made some campaign promises suggested a universal health care system. People in the U.S. spend $2.4 trillion a year on health care, or about $7,900 per person. That's more than twice as much per capita as in other advanced countries. But few would claim those dollars are buying good value. The costs are a staggering burden for taxpayers, employers and families, and the recession is leaving more people without insurance.Three perspectives on the Health Care issue: The main problem with the health care system is that costs keep going up -- We don't need to rip up the existing health care system and start over -- Decent health care ought to be a basic right. There seems to be a lot of controversy over what the approach should be to insure more people. I personally feel the prices being charged by doctors and hospitals is outrageous. They have laws for price gouging during national disasters, maybe the same rules should apply to the health care. People shouldn't be charged $5 for one aspirin when the can buy a whole bottle over the counter at their local pharmacy for less than five bucks! Who's to blame, anyways? What's the solution? Any ideas? Join in the conversation! [...]

Oh My Aching Feet!

Fri, 17 Apr 2009 13:47:00 +0000

Well not really, I found the survey about foot solutions very amusing because I know people who wear the most uncomfortable shoes because they pick appearance over comfort. I am the type of person who prefers to be barefoot but since that's not a possibility 24/7 I do have to wear shoes, mostly flip flops since I live in sunny Florida.

I never understood why the people I worked with would wear the shoes they did to work in. Most nights we would be on our feet for hours and during those many hours I heard the constant complaints. Not me, though, I love the comfort of a nice pair of shoes and tend to buy them a wee bit bigger for extra toe room. No need to suffer! Work is painful enough!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? Do you prefer stylish shoes over comfort? How much are you willing to pay for a pair of shoes? Did you know Celine Dion owns over 3000 pairs of shoes?

Is It Time For Change in Cuba?

Fri, 17 Apr 2009 13:22:00 +0000

This morning I had the opportunity to participate in a survey to express my views about the changes to possibly effect the relationship between the United States and Cuba. My spouse is Cuban, he arrived in this country when he was only a few years old. His parents have shared beautiful stories about their lives in Cuba before Fidel Castro took over. They also shared the stories of their loves ones who remained behind and the hardships they have endured there.I think it's definitely time for a change, what the best changes would be, I can't be certain, I do know the people of Cuba have suffered enough and if the United States can make any person's life better, they should. Are diplomatic and economic ties with Cuba the right thing for the U.S.? Obama and supporters say "Yes"; some Cuban-Americans say "No". Broad economic sanctions against Cuba have been in place since 1962, with the original goal being to bring down Fidel Castro's Marxist regime. Has that goal been met? Is it time to change? The picture is one of many, I found of Old Havana. Get in on the conversation and share your thoughts about future relationships between the United States and Cuba. [...]

Obama on Twitter

Tue, 07 Apr 2009 03:42:00 +0000

It was interesting to read the different opinions of Obama on Twitter in the latest dNeero survey. And as usual, I can't say I'm really a fan of Obama. Maybe, someday!

Would You Buy A Wheego Whip?

Sun, 18 Jan 2009 18:12:00 +0000

Today, I had the opportunity to participate in a charity survey offered by dNeero.com. I will be donating the earnings from this survey to Habitat for Humanity. The survey required me to visit the blog of Lance Weatherby and read about his experience test driving the Wheego Whip.

The Wheego Whip is an electric car slated to be hit the marketplace in May 2009 with a $20,000 price tag. The maximum speed is supposed to be 60 mph. I'm all for saving money on gasoline, saving the enviroment and cutting off ties with foreign countries for barrels of oil. I am really curious to know just how much charging an electric car will have on my electric bill.

Who is Spitz?

Sun, 18 Jan 2009 17:46:00 +0000

Over the past couple of months I have participated in some Spitz tunes surveys on dNeero. Today I found out a little about who he is and answered some more questions pertaining to music. There were a few questions about AeroSmith. Wow, Steve Tyler has been rockin a really long time.

I spend most of my time listening to classic rock. I do listen to newer music on the radio but I can't say I found to many newer bands I enjoy listening to.

Game Crew Paid Surveys

Mon, 05 Jan 2009 07:07:00 +0000

I'm adding Game Crew to the list of survey companies offering you a chance to make money for your opinion. I missed out on a survey opportunity over the holidays. I forgot to mention in my previous post how important it is to do the surveys as soon as possible. Many of the surveys are limited to a certain amount of participants or have a dead line.

GameCrew is an online research panel for gaming fans and enthusiasts. If someone is interested in becoming a member of the Game Crew Panel, they need to complete a brief survey that takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Participants must be over the age of 18.

GameCrew members are rewarded with access to new information and opportunities to receive cash, online gift certificates, and/or other rewards.

Get Paid for Your Opinion

Sat, 03 Jan 2009 00:46:00 +0000

This month I thought I would share some of the survey companies I have had the opportunity to make some money with in the past year. For starters though I am going to share a couple of tips to make things easier.Set up a new email address. I suggest using gmail for the sign up process. It's the only email service I use that doesn't bounce all my emails. No point in going through a long sign up process if your confirmation or survey opportunities never reach your email account. Don't forget to add the survey company to your contact list so it doesn't wind up in your spam folder.Use Roboform. You can download it for free. Roboform is the top-rated Password Manager and Web Form Filler that completely automates password entering and form filling. You can even participate in the affiliate program and earn a few extra dollars for referring others.Decide on a user name and password. Use the same user name and password for every survey company you sign up with. This will make it so much easier to sign in.Make sure you read the earning rewards before you sign up. Some companies offer money, points, gift certificates, entries into drawings or a simply thank you for your time. Take the time to browse through the survey website to make sure this opportunity is available where you live. It doesn't heard to do a search on the company to see if you can find any complaints about the company.Another tip I think you will find useful is investing in a composition book. Once you sing up for a survey company add it on a single page of your composition book. Use a new page for each company you sign up for. You should add the name of the company, when you signed up, your user name and your password. Once you receive a survey opportunity and complete it, you ca record it in your composition book. Here's a list of my top five survey companies. All of them are free to join and all of them offer you an opportunity to make money online.Survey SpotTestSpinAmerican Consumer OpinionOpinion OutpostGreenfieldOnlineAll this month I will be posting more links to other paid survey opportunities so be sure to check back in a few days. It sure is cool to be paid for sharing my opinion! [...]

Have a Happy New Year

Wed, 31 Dec 2008 17:57:00 +0000

Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year! May it be a very prosperous for you and your loved ones. Be safe and enjoy the holiday! Don't drink and drive.

A Musical New Year

Tue, 30 Dec 2008 15:56:00 +0000

My favorite band these days is GodSmack. Absolutely love their lead singer Sully Erna. I don't know what it is about the music of GodSmack but it always puts me in a better mood. What kind of music do you enjoy listening too? Do you feel listening to music effects the way you approach your day? Could you live without music?

The year 2008 is almost over. How will you be spending your New Year's eve? Are you planning on attending a party? What kind of music will you be ringing in the New Year with?

Tough Economic Times in America

Tue, 30 Dec 2008 15:23:00 +0000

It's no secret, Americans are having a tough time economically. People are saying plenty about the current economical situation. Unemployment is on the rise and businesses are failing. Are you worried? Are you prepared for the worse? Are you concerned about your job? Do you have money saved for a rainy day? Has your bank been bought out? Are you taking precautionary measures now to prepare for the worse case scenario? Are you confident President Elect Barrack Obama can save this nation from a depression? I am very worried about the current status of the American economy. I'm spending less and saving more. I have never been one for frivolous spending anyways and have always made it a point to clip my coupons and buy items on sale and clearance but now I have begun to cut back on other things as well. In tough times it would be nice to have a financial institution that gives back its earnings to its customers and local communities. "It's true with a credit union you give up convenience, but in return, you get better deals," says Clark Howard, author of Get Clark Smart : The Ultimate Guide for the Savvy Consumer and host of a nationally syndicated radio talk show on finances. Not All Gift Cards Are Created Equal

Fri, 19 Dec 2008 17:28:00 +0000

One of the easiest solutions for getting something for someone is giving them a gift card to one of their favorite places to shop. But it's important to remember not all gift cards are created equal. A few days ago a friend of mine forwarded me the following email:Be careful that gift cards will be honored after the holidays. Stores that are planning to close after Christmas are still selling the cards through the holidays even though the cards will be worthless January 1. There is no law preventing them from doing this. On the contrary, it is referred to as 'Bankruptcy Planning). Below is a partial list of stores that you need to be cautious about.Circuit City (filed Chapter 11)Ann Taylor- 117 stores nationwide closingLane Bryant, Fashion Bug ,and Catherine's to close 150 stores nationwideEddie Bauer to close stores 27 stores and more after JanuaryCache will close all storesTalbots closing down specialty storesJ. It turns out the e-mail warning of gift card problems is misleading. Whether or not the information is true, you should always be cautious when buying gift cards. I would recommend a visit to GiftCardBlogger.com, it may shed a lot of light on the questions you may have about gift cards. I know I found a lot of answers to my questions. [...]

Does Your Wicking Wear Smell?

Fri, 19 Dec 2008 16:22:00 +0000

My secret is out of the bag. I don't workout and I had absolutely no idea what wicking wear was until today. It's a specially designed fabric used in high performance sportswear. The fabric is designed to absorb or wick away moisture keeping the athlete dry. Even though, I don't workout, I do live in Florida and it does get extremely hot. It might be a good idea for me to purchase some of the wicking wear to keep me dry. Some days, I begin melting (sweating) as soon as I work outside. While wicking wear promises to keep me dry, it does come back with a drawback. The fabric helps wick about moisture but in the process the odor may still linger after being washed. The same concept that keeps me dry would keep my wicking wear to smell. So, now I have to wonder do I want to stay dry or smell good! LOL Now, there is a new laundry soap promising to remove odors in high performance sportswear.I couldn't possibly promote wicking wear or Win detergent because I have not personally worn or washed high performance clothing. So, my question to you is does your wicking wear smell even after being washed? I think I'm going to check out some wicking wear and reviews to see what people are saying and if there are complaints anywhere about the smell lingering. [...]

Another SpitzTunes - Cheer & Fear

Wed, 10 Dec 2008 18:20:00 +0000

This is the results of my SpitzTunes about Cheer and Fear. With the holidays upon us, dNeero wants to know my thoughts on the global financial crisis, Christmas and music. How does music inspire you? Music gives me the get up and go when coffee fails to deliver. All I need to do is pop in some AC/DC in the cd player and I am good to go! When I am feeling stressed out, I love listening to Stevie Nicks. For some reason her voice relaxes me. But most days, I just turn on WJRR and listen to whatever is playing.

As for Christmas, I absolutely love it! It was pretty strange for me when I first moved to Florida from New Jersey. Not that there was always snow on Christmas in NJ but it sure was COLD! brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr One thing I do hate about Christmas is how soon the Christmas merchandise is being displayed in stores. Pretty soon, it will be Christmas in July.

As for the current state of financial crisis here in the United States of America, I can only hope things will get better soon. I really have no interest in getting a job in the real world until my daughter starts school.

Bailout for the Big Three Auto Makers

Wed, 10 Dec 2008 17:12:00 +0000

This morning I had the opportunity to voice my opinion about the bailout of the American auto industry. Personally, I feel it would be a sad day in American history to witness the collapse of any of the top three auto makers. A possible bailout may be on the horizon. I just hope it's not too late. I would hate to say good bye to the Ford Mustang! My all time favorite car. What's your opinion? Do you blame the collapse on the unions? Bad engineering? Or mismanagement? My ideal car to own one day would be 1965 cherry red convertible mustang! But any 1965 Ford Mustang would do. Maybe, I'm impartial because it's the year I was born but....no matter, it's the car of my dreams! What's the car of your dreams? [...]

Are You Prepared to Die

Tue, 02 Dec 2008 13:57:00 +0000

Unfortunately, I am not prepared to die not even though I know it's something I need to do. I know my death is inevitable but being the procrastinator that I am and dealing with death doesn't make the task at hand an easy one. I need to make the decisions for myself so my family won't have to make the choices for me.

I have NOT completed a written a living will, appointed a health care power of attorney, or completed an advanced directive. How about you? Are you prepared? Have you discussed your dying wishes with your family or friends? Would they know what you wanted them to do for you?

In Alexandra Drane's words, we need to "start talking. Engage With Grace: The One Slide Project was designed with one simple goal: to help get the conversation about end of life experience started. The idea is simple: Create a tool to help get people talking. One Slide, with just five questions on it. Five questions designed to help get us talking with each other, with our loved ones, about our preferences."

SpitzTunes Without a Cause Survey Results

Tue, 02 Dec 2008 12:34:00 +0000

A quick and easy little dNeero survey opportunity today. All I had to do was answer a few questions about music, rebelling and Christmas shopping.

One of the questions I answered today was in regards to my bright idea for Christmas shopping. I like shopping early and avoiding the rush. Plus, all year long I Earn Free Gift Cards, Airline Miles, Vacations & more at MyPoints.

This year I cashed in 3800 of my points for a $25 Walmart gift card and another 1400 points for a $10 giftcard for CVS Pharmacy. Two very easy gift ideas for my girls. They love receiving gift cards.

It's easy to earn points for doing what I already do online like shopping, reading emails, playing games, searching the web, taking surveys, and more! The more I do, the more Points I earn.

Hope you're holiday shopping isn't stressing you out. I'm almost done. I just have a few more people to shop for and then I'm all done. I like getting every thing done early. I hate shopping in the stores during the holidays.

Something About Me

Tue, 02 Dec 2008 00:12:00 +0000

Today, I answered a few questions from fellow dNeero-ites about myself. One of the questions was whether or not, I would be sharing my answers on my blog. I didn't see a problem with sharing my responses with my readers. I don't feel the questions were to personal or evasive. Most of the questions were about happiness and life in general. When asked what the happiest day of my life was, I responded by saying their were five best days of my life. I have been blessed with five beautiful children and there's no way I could choose just one of those days as the best day of my life. [...]

Hope You Are Enjoying Your Holiday Meal

Thu, 27 Nov 2008 23:44:00 +0000

I'm stuffed and exhausted from all the cooking and cleaning and maybe one drink too many. I think I am going to crash out after SuperNatural so I can wake up early and hit the shopping frenzy tomorrow on Black Friday. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Day dinner too unless of course you are one of those die hard Black Friday shoppers who have been camped out in front of the store since yesterday! Here in Orlando, people have been camped out in front of Best Buy since Wednesday morning. I like a good deal too but not as much as I love Thanksgiving dinner! [...]

A Conversation About the Movie Twilight

Wed, 26 Nov 2008 18:32:00 +0000

I'll admit, I am a fan of any show or movie that deals with the super natural. I love the television series Super Natural. There's a lot of super natural things happening on the show. Dean and Sam Winchester are always fending off some demon, werewolf, ghost, vampire, or some other weird super natural being.I remember watching my first vampire movie and being so afraid to go to sleep. I had to make sure the windows and doors were locked. I had my crucifix necklace and still it seemed like eternity before I finally feel asleep. After watching a trailer today for Twilight, I certainly have an interest in seeing the movie especially when the main character is a vampire!Movie Trailers - Movies BlogHave you seen the movie "Twilight"? Are you a fan of vampire movies and the super natural? What's your opinion of the movie. Please feel free to join in the conversation or comment here on my blog.If the movie is not worth seeing, definitely let me know! I would hate to splurge on a movie especially if it's going to suck....oh wait vampires do that! SUck your blood....you know what I mean, if it's not worth seeing in the movie theaters, I will just add it to my Netflix Queue. [...]

A Conversation About MTV

Wed, 26 Nov 2008 18:01:00 +0000

Way back when MTV first aired, I was an avid fan. As the years went by, MTV changed so much that I just stopped watching it all together and switched to VH1. Over the past two years, I have used the antenna airs to watch tv and even if I wanted to, I can't watch MTV or VH1. I do visit other websites to check out music videos every once. There are some pretty cool websites out there like VH1.com,MTV.com,Joost.com, Daily Motion, MySpace, YouTube, etc. What's your opinion of MTV? Do you love it or hate it? Do you like the variety of shows being aired on Mtv.com or would you prefer seeing music videos 24/7? How much time do you spend watching music videos? What's your favorite music? Why not share your answers to some of these latest questions and ask a question of your own on Dneero.com. Even if you have no interest in participating in the dNeero.com paid surveys, I would still love to hear your opinion of MTV. Are you like me? Do you prefer the original MTV? [...]

Do You Watch the Chris Matthews Show

Wed, 19 Nov 2008 03:57:00 +0000

Almost every Sunday I wake up and make myself a cup of coffee and plop down on the sofa to watch the Chris Matthews Show. The latest dNeero.com conversation was about an episode of Chris Matthews. He was interested in hearing something he did not know about the Obama transition. The panelists were discussing what changes Obama to prepare for his job as the next President of the United States of America. It was interesting to hear about the changes already occurring in cities around the country. On The Chris Matthews Show, November 16th Chris Matthews leads with: "`It's not my job.' We've got a financial Katrina on our hands. Recession and layoffs are pouring through the floodgates, and nobody's in charge. Bush looks retired, Barack Obama's not president. So who's protecting us?"Mandate for change? When Reagan and Bush won, they charged ahead with a conservative vision. Will Obama do what Reagan and Bush did, do it big and bold no matter how tough the times? The Democrats are in the driver's seat. Shouldn't they drive?"The panelists:-- Michele Norris hosts "All Things Considered" on National Public Radio.-- Howard Fineman is senior Washington correspondent for Newsweek.-- Erin Burnett anchors"Squawk on the Street" and "Street Signs" on CNBC.-- Michael Duffy's assistant managing editor of Time magazine.Supposedly, young black men are hiking up their pants, cutting off their dread locks, joining the military or going back to school. I haven't really seen the changes they were discussing in Orlando but then again, I don't get out much. The questions asked by my fellow dNeero-ites were interesting too. Is Obama really going to make a change for the better in America? Is Obama going to deliver on the promises he made? What promise is he going to tackle first? Did I vote for Obama? Am I happy about it?On another note, I am happy to report, I have received my second payment from Dneero.com for participating in these online conversations. [...]

Sportswear, When and Where?

Wed, 12 Nov 2008 20:52:00 +0000

Do you think it's appropriate to wear sports attire everywhere? Do you wear it for comfort or do you wear it because it has been endorsed by a celebrity and it's the trendy thing to do?I live in Florida so I spend a lot of top in shorts because it's cooler and when it's cooler I like running my errands in sneakers and a nice comfortable pair of jogging pants.I don't think it's appropriate to wear a sports bra and a workout shorts to the grocery store even though I have witnessed quite a few people doing that. Oh well, what's comfortable for one person, isn't always comfortable for another. A more sporty, casual approach to clothing is permeating our lives ... remember when athletic shoes, were for, well, athletics? ... did you ever wear Chick Taylor's outside of the gym ... then came the sports shoe craze ... is high-performance fitness/sports clothing going to follow? Seems to be making some in roads. [...]
