I wrote about this on my blog today too and it got reposted on Salon.com with loads of comments. Most of the Salon commenters were not cancer patients and thought that it made no difference - it's tv, who takes med advice from tv, and it is about drama so what is the diff if it is realistic or not? It makes a difference to me. Let's not over estimate the American public. I'm living with cancer in me and many people are shocked when my life does not mirror the "As Seen on TV version". They have MD consultants on the show - why not use them to show what our lives a really like. If they are going to bother to use a real disease, use some real facts too.
