Requesting option to hide options for CCK Inherit on Feed Node, have all Nodes of Type auto-inherit all CCK fields to Feed Item

Sat, 31 Jul 2010 17:23:06 +0000

Hi,

Great module, got it working, thanks a lot.

I have a feature request. I'd like to remove the need for the user to check the inherit boxes. I'd like to have all Feed Nodes automatically pass their CCK values to their Feed Items, automatically per Node Type. So if you could include a checkbox for Hide Choices, and another for "Inherit All" that would be great.

Thanks

Stratis

No fields showing under field inherit on node created from feed

Sun, 12 Jul 2009 13:57:46 +0000

In devel, I noticed that no fields were being loaded

feedapi_field_inherit (Array, 1 element)
fields (Array, 0 elements)

I also noticed that in
function feedapi_field_inherit_nodeapi(&$node, $op, $a3 = NULL, $a4 = NULL)

That case 'insert' is empty:
if (feedapi_enabled_type($node->type)) {
switch ($op) {
case 'insert':

I thought this was just me not understanding the module, but now I think it is not working.

1Create a node type, my_node
2. add a content type, field_my_contenttype
3. add a cck field, field_my_cck
4. create a feed type, my_feed
5. add a content type from my_node, field_my_contenttype
6. add a cck field from my_node, field_my_cck
7. goto feed item created by my_feed
8. view feedapi field inherit drop down
9 it is EMPTY. there should be field_my_cck and field_my_contenttype there.

Am I missing something?

thanks,
Chris

Is this FeedAPI Field Inherit Modul dead?

Fri, 04 Sep 2009 16:52:53 +0000

I wanted to use this module, could not get it to work... could not find any description how to use it... (no instructions .. no step by step... no "how to.."..) .

Instead i find similar guys writing frustrated issue requests , without getting any answer.

Marco, if this module does not work.. or is no longer supported - please say so and let this project die. Otherwise Please Please write a bit more detailed description on how to use it. Because from what I understand the module should do - it would be very very useful.

Where do the inherited fields appear?

Sat, 20 Jun 2009 05:25:58 +0000

I have clicked the checkboxes on a feed for fields I want inherited by the feed items. However, when I go to any feed item and open the edit form I do not see the fields. My guess is they aren't actually created on the content item and that just the field values are passed to them when being displayed. However, in item view i also do not see the field values. Where exactly do these inherited values get displayed? Thanks. Kevin

How does it work?

Thu, 18 Jun 2009 07:37:15 +0000

What I want:
I have a feed with 2 CCK Text fields (source_feed_name and source_feed_url) and I want all nodes created by the feed to inherit these 2 values. I created a type (newsitems) and added 2 CCK fields (source_name and source_feed).

The problem:
How do I link/map these CCK fields so this module automatically copies the value? Giving them the same id doesn't work in CCK. (that isn't allowed)

Can't find the checkbox settings

Fri, 19 Jun 2009 08:14:16 +0000

This module sounds just like what I need. However, after installing it I can't find the checkboxes to configure fields to inherit on either the feed content type or the feed items content type. I've looked in site configuration for the possibility of choosing content types etc ... I can't find this anywhere. Please help! thanks, Kevin

module description is unclear

Wed, 10 Jun 2009 19:04:15 +0000

Generalizing what the Feed Element Mapper module does for taxonomy, this module allows to automatically set fields in the feed items individual nodes by inheriting field values from the parent node.

FeedAPI element mapper copies tags (or other values) from the feed and adds them to specific vocabularies on the FeedAPI-created node for that feed item. It doesn't reach into feed node for any values. That's what FeedAPI inherit does.
