This post doesn't make you seem blinkered at all Emma - rather that you've just thought long and hard about which of the Things will work in your Library together with the tools you already have in existence.

It's been great working with you on the project team!

Hi Emma,

Just wondering if students are able to edit your wiki so in theory can they add comments to their reading lists?

That's a really useful presentation and one we probably should have watched before the start of Cam23!

I wouldn't mind being an 'Information Ninja' either - perhaps we could have a movement for all Deputy Librarian posts in Cambridge to be renamed?!

Sorry to be late picking up this point, but for library inductions I would consider it very rude if people tweeted during the presentation, for conferences if there were urls given, tweeting would replace making notes and provide a useful link for later or people not present.

I like the new look! And I'm look forward to hearing how you get on with the virtual tour. Good luck!

I was getting all excited at the thought that a twuffer described people like me who are hopeless at using twiiter! What a waste of a good word to see that its to do with off-site tweeting. Is that what it is? JillianW

I'm sceptical about tags for library catalogues, partly because they rely on users doing a lot of work. I'm far more impressed by the type of OPAC recommendations that Dave Pattern is automatically generating at Huddersfield.

Yes it does unfortunately! This is causing me huge problems at the moment as I am trying (& failing) to train for the Race for Life...perhaps I should change it to something which will motivate me!

Thanks Kirsty - will look into setting up different calendars. I already have several calendars of my own and I too like how you can choose which one you want displayed.

Just in relation to your comment about the calendar becoming over-crowded if you transferred all of the information from the Weekly Sheet...

At the Judge we set up a number of calendars (general, leave, sickness, inter-library loans etc) on which we record most events, meetings and reminders. The good thing about setting up separate calendars is that you don't have to view them all at once - you can choose to look at only one and then simply click on the others when needs be. The reminders from all of them still appear in our e-mail so we don't forget anything from any of them. May be worth investigating?

Mmmm - I like your chocolates header on your netvibes page, but doesn't it make you hungry each time you look at it?!

I think I was looking only at one side of the mirror, but after reading your opinion on iGoogle I was able to see the other side! - I didn't see the possibility of libraries creating gadgets or feeds for readers to add onto their personal pages - genius!

And what a good idea the italian gadget you found - Bravissima!

Thanks for your comment about the photo. It's a view from my aunt and uncle's house that a I took a few summers ago. They live in the Waveney Valley (not far from Lowestoft), and I couldn't resist sharing it with everyone!

I've read your blog & like how you're using iGoogle and your comments on blogging in general. I am a first time blogger and am still finding my way...

I hope you continue to enjoy the programme.
