Well done on finishing! I found it a relief to finish, but also a bit sad. I got sort of fond of my blog, even if it was a struggle to keep having to write about things that I wouldn't normally have chosen to write about!

Good luck with all of your LIS studies, and whatever you do after them!

Hello!

I've enjoyed reading your thoughts on iGoogle. And I do like your penguin theme!

I agree that igoogle has the potential to be extremely distracting, although creating different tabs and putting professional/useful gadgets on a page together perhaps helps to minimise this (more trivial items could then be hidden out of view?). While I like the idea of having everything together in one place, I think that well-organised Favourites folders do a pretty good job, and are probably quicker and easier to access!

Good luck with the next Things!

Hi Bettina, thanks for your comment and sorry it's taken me so long to respond! We have also just started a Facebook fanpage for our College library which, as you've found, has gone well - we had quite a large number of people 'like' us within the first few days of it being promoted, which was really encouraging. It's useful for the students' to have another source of information (or reminders) about what's happening in the library!

To Helen - thank you!

Hi Elizabeth, I have a somewhat similar background regarding my web 2.0 experiences and being a relative library novice I'm curious about how to make these tools work for libraries and its users. At my college library we started a facebook group and a fan page a few months ago and especially the fan page is going extremely well. I wonder if you have similar experiences with facebook groups and pages for your library? If so, it would be great to hear about it.
