My first rebroadcast will be my interview with Mr Michael Gerber - best selling author of E-Myth Revisited and Founder of E-Myth International. Win In Business with PETE ROSE

Thu, 12 Aug 2010 17:00:00 GMT

You know, terms "All time Great" and "Legendary" seem to get tossed around alot lately. But, my guest is truly Best Known - Best Loved and Legendary sports figures of all time. And I get to talk with one... PETE ROSE - "Hit King" - "Charley Hustle" - is synonymous with top level success in Baseball. Well, this All Time Great is going to be joining me, your host Doug Huggins, on Thursday - August 12, 2010 to talk about his career, his success and also to talk about a brand new business he's kicking off on September 21, 2010 in Atlanta, GA. In preparing for this show I've been able to spend some time on the phone with Mr. Rose and one of the things he's most concerned with is...well, here are his own words... "Hey, I know times are hard right now for a lot of folks. A lot of really good people I know have lost their jobs, been downsized, or aren’t making what they really need so they can have the life and lifestyle they want and their family deserves. I know guys, even some past team mates, who were planning on retiring in the next few years and now, just can’t see a way that can happen." That concern has caused Mr Rose to join forces with a well respected, highly successful company, and has designed a program to help small business owners, entrepreneurs, work from home professionals and just plain folks get the extra income so they can have the life and life-style they want and their family deserves. Not only is Pete going to spend about 45 minutes on the show with me he's also autographed a very special Red's #14 jersey that one of our listeners can win. This is a limited edition jersey on which he's added all three of his classic signatures - "Pete Rose" (of course) "Charlie Hustle" and "Hit King #4256". This is something he rarely does but he's done it for my listeners. So be sure to join me Thursday - August 12 at 1:00 PM Eastern time to hear from a true "Legend of the Game!"

Sidney Biddle Barrows - The Mayflower Madam Joins Us on BEST Business Radio

Thu, 19 Feb 2009 21:00:00 GMT

Sydney Biddle Barrows, known as the Mayflower Madam, was a modern American madam. After her escort service was exposed and disbanded, she gained worldwide notoriety, in part because she was part of the upper-class Biddle family of Philadelphia and is a Mayflower descendant. After a short career in fashion (after graduating from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology), she was introduced to the world of high-class prostitution and started her own escort service named Cachet, which existed in New York City from 1979 to 1984. Unlike other escort agencies, Cachet offered an unparalleled service at the time, focusing on delivering a classy and elegant experience to the wealthy and powerful who either visited or lived in New York City. Some of its clients included industrialists, high-powered business executives and lawyers, foreign diplomats and Arabian oil sheiks. Barrows was well-known for treating her "ladies" with respect and dignity while also maintaining strict codes of conduct to preserve high standards and a reputation for outstanding service with elegance. In her book, Mayflower Madam, Barrows imparted the advice that made her service so exclusive and successful. "Hire good people and pay them what they are worth" is her first rule of good business. In October 1984, her escort service was shut down and she was charged with promoting prostitution by the New York City District Attorney's Office. After she pled guilty, she published a best-selling autobiography, Mayflower Madam, which later became a television movie of the same name starring Candice Bergen. She has written two subsequent books on modern sexual etiquette. In late 2008 Barrows finished "Uncensored Sales Strategies", co-authored with well known "No BS" marketing expert Dan Kennedy. Since the mid-late 1990's, Barrows has run a sales consulting business with a focus on customer service and Experience Strategy. Referred to in business circles as "Madame Experience".

Ulrich Herter - Improve Your Sales and Avoid Economic Whiplash

Tue, 03 Feb 2009 21:00:00 GMT

The recent economic nosedive has several big-name companies in a frenzy as they try to reduce inefficiencies and bolster their sales. Companies such as AMD, Micron, Canon, Saks and GAP have all witnessed failing sales efforts, not to mention the banking undertow and deteriorating home market. However, despite the sales slump, expert Ulrich Herter, co-author of “On Selling Management: The PATH to a Better Top Line” point out that company sales can actually improve during the economic turbulence. The strategy is simple: follow The PATH by consistently measuring, driving and analyzing sales activities, which in turn, will reduce sales cost and increase value to company stakeholders. According to Herter and his co-author Spider Lockhart, sales success must start with sales management. Rather than focusing on the individual contributor, The PATH concept is directed toward sales management with the intent to organize and drive company-wide sales and, ultimately, company success. “This is not another sales method, technique or secret to… Instead, this is a foundation for sales management to make the right decision in order to drive individual and collective results to higher levels of performance,” says Herter.

Tue, 27 Jan 2009 21:00:00 GMT

Because of high expectations for him to graduate college and work for the family business, O’Reilly Auto Parts, started by his grandfather, Ryan O’Reilly felt cornered. And after four years of doing just that, he felt something was missing and needed more from his life. When Ryan O’Reilly was born in 1978, O’Reilly Auto Parts was a modestly sized, family-owned company with a single distribution center and about 10 stores in and around Springfield, MO. By the time he ended his employment with his family business in 2003, it had grown into a publicly traded company with 12 distribution centers and over 1,500 stores spanning 26 states. The company had grown in such a way that by the time he was old enough to become part of it on a corporate level, it had changed dramatically. And he decided it was time for a change. After selling his house and everything he owned on a whim, he moved to Austin, Texas, much to his father’s dismay. O’Reilly has since enjoyed success in the music industry and is now the managing director of 415 Entertainment in Austin, Texas. However, before settling down, he traveled around the U.S. with only a backpack and a motorcycle.

Chuck Norris Interview

Thu, 15 Jan 2009 18:00:00 GMT

BEST Business Radio talks with the internationally known television and movie star Chuck Norris. We'll be discussing what motivated Chuck to get into martial arts and, more importantly, what he saw in our society that motivated him to write his New York Times bestseller, Black Belt Patriotism. Chuck also discusses how he got a hard lesson in entrepreneurship years ago when he sold his martial-arts academy to a company that promised to grow the chain from three to 1,000 schools, only to go bust two years later. But that loss, at 34 years old, forced him to return to giving private classes, which led Steve McQueen to his door – who in turn prompted him to take up acting. This is our inaugural BlogTalkRadio broadcast (so stay tuned for future editions), and I can't think of a better first guest than Walker, Texas Ranger himself! NOTE: Due to time restrictions with Chuck’s schedule, we were not able to take listener calls on this show.
