While all of these SCREAM Dad, I always think of #2 when I think of him. I can hear him saying now, "Just ask, the worst thing that can happen is they'll say no." And, I thought of that exact statement in church this morning. "Open your mouth wide and I will fill it."

Thanks for some perspective on life and being a parent. I'm the u8 parent right now worried about whether or not my daughter will be good enough to keep playing. Ha ha....Patrick had the 'talk' the night of the Reading Sleepover when his brothers were with me. I swear when he came back at 10pm to pick up his younger brother, he was looking sheepish. LOL

Then the year Shane was in 5th grade, as we approched the Reading Sleepover night again, I think Patrick gave Shane the heads up that the "talk" was coming that night.

Congrats to you and thanks for posting. Some of my coworkers have challenged me to run a 10k with them September 29, which is 18 weeks from now. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it but have decided to train thanks in part to your blog.
You must be so proud, and what a great role model for your children.
