Cheryl-That is so true. This makes me feel very good :) Thank you so much. I completely agree with what you said. Sometimes I just get stuck in a nostalgic mood where I question things. The truth is, I couldn't be happier with my front row friends. They are all I need. :)

Someone once told me that if you have 2 to 3 really true, good friends in your life, your are blessed. I am friends with people, but only to a point. I care about people, but honestly, in my front row sits my best friend from 5th grade, my best friend from high school, a best friend from college and a best friend, I've let in, from work. Of course, my husband in first, but when it comes to girl friends, I am happiest when I am with or can talk to one of the 4 I mentioned. They know me, really know me. I trust them. They make me laugh and I know we would be there for each other. It may seem like I have many friends, but I don't really let them in. I have fun with them, may go to a movie or dinner, but in my heart, I have my 4 true blue friends and that is where I put all my energies, nurturing and time into. I don't mean to sound stuck up, but that is all I have room for, and I am okay with that. As long as I have these 4 women in my life, I know I am blessed and I don't need more than that.
That is not to say, I don't love meeting new people, but only to a point. I'm not comfortable in large groups, have a nice time in small groups of friends, but in the end, it comes down to my 4 friends. It is funny how each one came out of a certain period of my life, but that is exactly how it played out and I've never looked back.
So now that I babbled on, I hope you can figure this out on your own journey. True friends really make life so much sweeter in this crazy world.

So good to hear from you.

Kim-I think you're spot on. I really like the way you put it about some people clinging to every friendship, it's an interesting thought and one which makes some people I know make a lot more sense.
Thank you for your words, they have helped me immensely. :)

While I think some people are lucky enough to maintain many friendships over the long term, I think it's more the norm to focus in on the nearest and dearest as we get older. The front row, as you put it. Others cling to EVERY friendship, whether it has value or not, because they think they are somehow less if they let them go. Hard to say which way is best...I guess everyone has to figure out which way makes them happy.
