The life of longtime Loyola College priest and professor, Fr. Francis G. McManamin, S.J., will be celebrated on Sunday, April 21, with memorial Mass in the Alumni Chapel at 11 a.m.

Anne McCloskey, who was a pioneer for women's athletics at Loyola College as a coach and athletics administrator from 1976-94, passed away Saturday following an illness.

Loyola Athletics Giving Challenge Starts April 5

Loyola University Maryland Athletics will launch its fifth-annual Giving Challenge on Thursday, April 5. The challenge is a philanthropy-based competition between all 18 teams to build their overall support and alumni giving participation. For the first time in Giving Challenge history, family and friends will be able to support the program(s) of their choice in order to help them win two of this year's challenge categories.

Loyola University Maryland officially welcomed nine individuals to its Athletics Hall of Fame as its Class of 2018 on March 9 with a dinner ceremony in McGuire Hall. Read more about the inductees.

Fr. Francis McManamin, S.J. -- 1924-2018

Rev. Francis G. McManamin, SJ, was born in Danville, Pa. on September 15, 1924. He graduated from St. Edward's High School in Shamokin, Pa. and St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md. He entered the Society of Jesus at the Novitiate of St. Isaac Jogues in Wernersville, Pa. in 1951. He received his Master's in American History and a Ph.D. in American and Church History from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He was ordained a priest on June 18, 1961.
