Tulips - Scrap FX Design Team

I´m here today to share my latest project for the Scrap FX Design Team - a canvas with their gorgous chipboard tulips. We have so much snow up here in the north that I really long for spring. I spritzed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in the colors Dragonfly, Patina & Emerald Green to create the background. Then simply added the chipboards & a stamped, fussy cut & painted butterfly. The flowers was colored with watercolor pencil to give them a soft look. Love the result!Shop your Scrap FX products here & your Tattered Angels products here. Thanks for stepping by!♥Marie[...]

Love on Canvas - Words & Paintery Creative Team

Today I´m sharing my project for the brand new challenge at Words & Paintery. I created a canvas using a 12x12 Canvas piece from Canvas Corp & embroidery hoop.

The Challenge Board:

I created texture to the canvas with heavy white gesso and then used water color pencils to get the right color shades.

The embellishements came from my pile of nicknacks - the big flower is handmade and was given to my daughter who wanted me to use it for a project.

Please swing by the Words & Paintery blog to se what the rest of the team created.

#love - Scrap FX Design Team

As valentines day is coming up I thought I would use some of my Scrap FX chipboards to create a couple of project for the event. I used the Small Damask Heart, the Heart Flowers, I want to grow old with you wordlet & the #love.Tags & small cards are really usable for Valtentine´s Day so I did go for that when creating. My two tags came together with pieces of paper scraps from Canvas Corp, some die-cuts and the lovely Damask Heart, Heart Flowers & mini sayings from Scrap FX. Random stamping and paint splatters add extra character. The Chipboards where painted with matching Baseboard Mist from Tattered Angels (color Sunburst)Details:The small card was really a bonus product. I found this sweet wordlet that say "I wanna grow old with you" and thought it would fit perfect on a small card that could be tucked in a flower bouquet. Again I used scraps & mist to create the card. The shimmer that make the wordlet really pop was sadly really hard to catch on camera. Shimmer created with layers of Tattered Angels High Impact Paint "Light Gold".Tattered Angels/Canvas Corp Products available in the Canvas Corp Brands Online StoreScrap FX Products available in the Scrap FX Online StoreThank you for stepping by today!LoveMarie[...]

File folder ATC cards

How about being creative with some junk? Do you throw away all your offcuts and leftover bit & bobs. Well I do mostly, but occasionally I spare some parts. These ATC cards was something I created the other day with scraps laying around my really messy craft table. The mini file folder cards from Canvas Corp is something I have had for years but never found good use for. Now I decided to challenge myself and use them for a set of ATC´s. I was inspiered by Fiona Paltridge´s online class for Soul Journey 2018, in which she used a combination of fabric, paper dolls and stamped wings. My cards was built with burlap & corrugated paper pieces from Canvas Corp The ladies was cut out from patterned papers from 7gypsies and the colorful paper pieces was cut from the papers I have used to cover pieces of art when misting with my Tattered Angels mist.I stamped butterflies and colored them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist before fussy cutting them. I really love how these turned out!Products usedCanvas Corp ATC Small File Folder KraftCanvas Corp 12x12 E-Flute Kraft7gypsies Gypsy Moments: 12X12 Poses and Reflections Paper7gypsies Architextures™ 8x8 Paper PadCanvas Corp Burlap Fringe - Natural BurlapTattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Capri BlueTattered Angels Glimmer Mist - MarmaladeTattered Angels Chalkboard Mist - FireflyIndigoBlu Stamp Set - Butterfly Collector7 Dots Studio Stickers (old).[...]

Beginning of 2018 Art Journals

Happy New Year Creative Souls! I´m her today to share two of my first Art Journal spreads for this new year. First out My journey with the Scrap FX Art Journal continues in the new year and this month I have used the Petal Pattern Stencil together with the Steampunk Key Corner & “extraordinary” from the #surrealwording set.I love that you can use the Scrap FX stencils so many ways. You can use them to mist over, to create pattern, so draw around etc. I used two techniques on this spread. First I applied heavy white gesso trough the Petal Pattern stencil to create texture. Then when dry I used a sponge and black stamping ink to create the black bold pattern. I don´t care that the pattern is a bit “broken” that gives more character and interest in my meaning. The Steampunk Key corner is really beautiful and I wanted to use it on a project that would let it stand a bit for itself. I found it to be perfect in on corner of my spread. I followed up the metallic pink splatters with painting the chipboard piece in the same color. Makes it really pop.I had the intention to paint the #surreal wording as well, but decided it would look better natural – love how it turned out with the black text strip above. My second spread was made for Canvas Corp Bands Creative Crew. It´s about my Craft resolutions for 2018. I have been working with the 7gypsies Architextures Parchment Rub-ons on this spread and really love how it turned out! Please visit the Canvas Corp Brands blog here for more details on how this was made.So what is your creative vice during 2018?Leave us a comment – I would love to know!Until next time!♥Marie[...]

Happy Thursdag Crafty Souls! As we heading against Christmas with full speed and December can be kind of crazy I want to show you a set of super simple and fast Christmas Cards today. Then added the doily, and a piece of patterned paper from Canvas Corp. I distressed the edges a bit to get some dimension. Then just glued on the chipboard and a metal star as embellishment. I ended up layering them togheter with bases from an Architextures Junk Pack and different shades of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. I must say I love how the spread turned out! A Beautiful Mind

The New Collections from 7 Dots Studio landed in my craft room this week and man - DeeDee & Tusia did a amazing job - again! Since I´m no longer a part of the Design Team I have the chance to play along with the challenges! This is this months challenge board (a click on the picture will take you to the challeng):I created this layout using papers & embellishments from Paint Chips. I have always dreamed of a dog, but time is not there for our family. We know better than buying a dog we can´t focus 100% on. BUT if we would ever get one it would be a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. The little raven like dog has all things I like - fun, curious, soft and of a perfect size. Well, the picture speaks for itself. The Chipboard comes from Scrap FX & the splatters of mist are of course Tattered Angels Mists. As you can see I tore the patterned paper apart, cut it to a smaller size and then sew it on a older patterned paper from 7 Dots Studio. I distressed the edges with a scissor after sewing but if I had been a bit more clever I would have done it before. Well - it´s easy to be backwise... I hope you like my layout! I would love if you left me a comment telling me what you think. So long for today!{Products from 7 Dots Studio, Scrap FX, Tattered Angels, Prima Marketing}[...]

Just checking in today to share my project for the new Words & Paintery Challenge. I made a set with ATC cards using a background paper I created by layering Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and water. Art Journal - I´m on Santa´s Good List - Scrap FX Design Team

You can try and deny it – but fact is that we´re heading with full steam towards Christmas! Today I´m sharing my first Christmas themes project for Scrap FX this year.

I used black matte gesso as base before I sprayed two colors of shimmering mist from Tattered Angels over the Circle Wave Stencil. I love the effect the black and shimmer combined create.

To add a Christmassy feel I stamped and embossed with the Branches Stamp. I spread a little of the white embossing powder over the spread just to create a sense of snow flying around. The Wordlet got a cote of High Impact Paint to give it a festive look. Love how it turned out!

Stay tuned for more Christmassy projects!

Fantasy Wall Hanging - Mixed Media & Art Design Team

Today I´m sharing my recent project for Mixed Media & Art. I ended up making a wall hanging with inspiration from the moodboard for this month. I picked out the colors and shapes and incorporated them in my project. When it comes to fantasy there is so much that inspire me - I love the books and has been a keen fantasy novel reader since I was a teenager. I love the clothes, I love the mystery - you can just say I love it... Making this project came down to be a bit of a trouble since I did not know which inspirational thought to pick. I used a piece of burlap from Canvas Corp that I wrapped around two sandwiched pieces of cardboard to form the base of my wall hanging. I love that the color goes well with the burning sky in one of the pictures in the moodboard. A piece of dark blue cardstock got layers of Tattered Angels Mists and that transformed it with to a interesting background. The chipboard moon from Scrap FX fits perfect as center piece and small details like pieces of Architextures™ bases, glimmering stones and flair crate texture and interest. The October Moodboard:Thank you for your visit today! [...]

Art Journal "Feathers" - Scrap FX Design Team

I`m here today with a new page in my Scrap FX Art Journal. I love where this journey is taking me – when I made my first Art Journal spread for this blog my intention was not to create a Journal dedicated to Scrap FX. BUT I love exploring the products the brand offers, and I love playing with the stamps & stencils so this journal has become dedicated to this blog and a tradition as my first of the moth post in the Scrap FX blog. I picked the bold color range from the current challenge at Mixed Media Place (see below). This October I have been playing with these products: Feather B Chipboard, Fancy Feathers , Silhouette Small, Scribble Script stencil, Circle Weave stencilI used different bright colored acrylics from Tattered Angels as base for my pages. I added the paints randomly with a broad flat brush and then dried it with a heater. I was really keen to see how the Circle Weave stencil would turn out. I decided to use black chalkboard mist from Tattered Angels to figure it out. The effect turned our really cool. The pattern in combination with the bright acrylics looks like a Oriental rug.I also added more texture & contrast with white gesso that I applied through the Scribble Script stencil. The white letters really pop against the colorful background. I added the black chipboard feather for even more dimension and the black silhouette feathers tie really well in with the theme.I really love how this spread turned out and can´t wait until next month when I get the chance to continue my journey in this Scrap FX Art Journal (as I nowdays call it…).I also entered this spread to the September Challenge with Mixed Media Place. Thanks for stopping by today![...]

"Deer Dome" - "Crystal Beauty" - Joint project "Creative Art"

Today this post is about Mixed Media & Arts Joint Project "Creative Art".Today our second stage is dedicated to transparent elements! Here we again give freedom to your inner artist and offer to play with transparent non-scrap materials. It can be glass, acrylic, and bottles ... The main thing is to look for materials among ordinary things. You can add other transparent elements, just one of them will not be from the scrap store All the rest in any materials and in any form. In your work there should be ONE transparent element NOT from scrapbooking and one more obligatory element of this stage is CIRCLES. It can be in any form and from any materials. You can make any project and any format. This was a really interesting and hard task for me but I really love a challenge. I went to my local Flea Market to search for items and found glass that would work perfect as the transparent element. Now to the circles - that was not an easy thing - but I imagined that instead of circled I could use circular shapes. For this I found an old candle holder with a circular base and some other odd items with circular shapes. I also realized that the foot of the glass was a circle... Sometimes you really have to think outside the box and step out of your comfort zone when creating. This is what I did with my Flea Market findings :Please Watch my video tutorial on how this piece was crated. allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="" width="560">I hope you will join us for this fun event![...]

Winter is Coming - Kraft+ Guest Designer

Hi there crafty souls! I was asked to join Kraft+ Challenges as their International Guest Designer this October and today I share my layout inspiered by the challenge "I can see clearly now". This challenge is all about Kraft + something "clear" (see trough). This layout is really a result from one of those "it" moments when you just get a creative idea in your head and can´t let it go. I was laying in bed one night and it just came to me how I was going to tackle this challenge....I picked one of the wonderful patterned Kraft papers from Canvas Corp - this one is called White & Kraft Lace and is one of my all time favorites. A piece of Canvas Corps E-flute corrugated Kraft paper form the base of my cluster together with vintage lace and flowers. I chose to die cut out leaves from vellum paper as parts of my clear trough details. I also added clear pebbles with clear acrylic decorations underneath and then a clear tab with the sentiment texted on it. As Scrap FX is one of the sponsors of this challenge I added a couple of their chipboards to the design as well. The Steampunk Key fit perfect to the picture with Deanarys from Game of Thrones. I also added the Barbwire Border from Scrap FX. All of the chipboard was sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "Precious Metal". I also added splatters with the same mist over the page.I must say this in on of the layouts I am most happy with at the moment. I pretty much love it and hope you will do to!Thank you for stepping by today!{Products from Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels, Scrap FX, Prima Marketing}[...]
