Allsorts - handmade flowers

2018-02-17T07:52:55.074+00:00

This week I'm hosting the challenge at Allsorts and I chose handmade flowers. So make your own flowers and add to your project. There are so many ways to create nice blossoms, maybe check out a tutorial online and try something completely new.

I always look for new ways to create flowers so I'm hoping for some tips visiting your blogs this week.

I made my flowers using a sizzix daisy-die, some white stamens and a flatbacked pearl. Leaves are made by cutting apart a diecut maple leaf.

We are sponsored this week by Stickeryou, offering an amazing $65 voucher

Allsorts - love is in the air

2018-02-10T08:27:46.996+00:00

We're closing in on Valentine's Day so at Allsorts we naturally have the theme Love is in the air. I made a double gift tag (so that you can write the greeting on the tag behind the decorated one. It's very sparkly but the light during winter really doesn't do it justice.

Baby gift tag

2018-02-04T19:27:30.223+00:00

Showing off a gift tag I made for the February challenge at Scraphuset where they want creations in red or pink. A Lili of the Valley image, coloured with distress inks, some scrap paper, roses and a ribbon that is not at all the salmon colour it looks to have on  the photo :)

Allsorts - spots or stripes

2018-02-03T08:30:10.607+00:00

This week at Allsorts the challenge is to use spots and/or stripes. I dry embossed a piece of vellum to get the spots to show clearly and decorated with some leaves made from a maple leaf die and a foamiran flower. I have just learned how to make flowers from foamiran so they might show up on other creations :)

Two sponsors this week, Digistamp boutique and Sizzix, so two lucky winners!

Allsorts - Old favourites

2018-01-27T08:00:31.411+00:00

This week at Allsorts it's time to take out the old and treasured favourites. I chose to dust of the wonderful swirl set from Stempelglede that is so pretty but I sort of forgot it in a drawer, you know how it is :)
I inked some paper with blue and purple distress ink and embossed the swirls in gold. Simple but effectful. I won't put the stamp set back at the bottom of the drawer for a while now :).

We are sponsored by Fantastic Ribbon this week so good luck to you all!

Allsorts - butterflies

2018-01-20T08:01:07.568+00:00

To balance last week's theme at Allsorts that I found a bit tricky - which you guys sure didn't :) - this week is an easy one: Butterflies.
I used a laser cut butterfly and a new sentiment I got for Christmas, a sentiment just up my alley :)

We have some lovely prizes from Tattered Lace up for grabs so good luck to you all!

Allsorts - no patterned paper

2018-01-13T08:00:00.446+00:00

This week Tracy Mouse set the theme at Allsorts to "No patterned papers". Ooooh, tricky one was my first thought, I love design papers! But I'm not the one who folds easily so I made a dry embossed background, used some lovely Penny Black birds and a huge bow as focus so no one would even react to the fact that it's just plain white cardstock as a base :)

Allsorts - something new

2018-01-06T16:41:10.325+00:00

I hope 2018 started nicely for you all. It's a fresh new year now, gone are the Christmas decorations and it's time to look forward to spring (which is way, way ahead when you live where I do). We have a brand new challenge for you at Allsorts, and the theme is Something new. I used a new stamp from Lili of the Valley and just to be on the safe side I also have the theme new home on the card :).

I hope you all have a nice weekend, it's back to school on Monday for me after the Christmas holiday so I'm really savouring these last few days :)

Other challenges:
Crafty Catz - anything goes
Polka doodles - anything goes
MAWTT - flowers
Cute card Thursday - anything goes
Simon says - something new

Allsorts - Seasonal flowers

2017-12-23T08:00:28.860+00:00

To give the Allsorts DT a well earned Christmas holiday this challenge is two weeks long and the theme is Seasonal flowers. So out came some white poinsettas with white and gold stamen. I used dry embossing on the snowflake backing and heat embossing on the star sentiment.

Have a relaxing, creative and wonderful Christmas!

Allsorts - Cold and frosty

2017-12-17T15:37:45.226+00:00

Time for a new challenge at Allsorts, this time to use cold and frosty colours. I used silver and lilac with lots of snowflakes and a big bow. Even though the paper is a very flowery summer paper it worked well with the snowflakes and Christmas sentiment. We are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and there is always lots of goodies to find there!

Other challenges:
Scraphuset - julkort

Allsorts - Snowflakes

2017-12-09T08:30:00.183+00:00

I'm hosting the challenge at Allsorts this week and I thought that Snowflakes would be a fitting theme. Because we're closing in on Christmas AND my chorus Snowflake singers have our annual Christmas concert this weekend - one show this evening and one tomorrow.

So I made a gift tag in white with silver snowflakes and a purple bow to top it of. I hope you join in the challenge and have a lovely weekend!

Allsorts - Thank you

2017-12-03T17:21:44.266+00:00

So sorry for being late with my post, but had the funeral for my mother-in-law this weekend and I thought the post was scheduled, but obviously not :(

So, though late, here's my contribution to Allsorts challenge this week and the theme is Thank You.

Allsorts - Christmas song

2017-11-25T08:30:31.794+00:00

This week at Allsorts we challenge you to be inspired by a Christmas song. I chose Coldplay's Christmas Lights and made a gift bag with a LotV image.
We have some amazing dies from Tattered Lace up for grabs so do join in!

Allsorts - Glitter

2017-11-18T16:57:49.075+00:00

Time for a Glitter challenge at Allsorts. I made a card with a gold mirror backing paper and a big golden bow. Glitter can be all sorts of sparkling things, but for this challenge not gems or pearls.

I hope you join our challenge, and I hope you have a nice weekend. Here in the north we have a bright sun shining on the frosty landscape this morning, and I'm gonna prepare for the christening of my grandson tomorrow, so life is good :)
Other challenges:

Crafty Catz - Anything goes
Polka doodles - Anything goes
Kort o Mania - Anything goes
Creatalicious - Anything goes
Crafty Creations - Anything goes

Allsorts - colours of autumn

2017-11-11T08:01:03.964+00:00

It's been a long time since I made a photo layout, but for this challenge at Allsorts - Autumn colours - I had to give it a go since the photos I chose already had the colours desired :). Distressed die cut leaves was all I needed, I'm not really a fan of the bulgy layout pages that makes closing the album nearly impossible.
Top picture is my mum, her mum and my dad's mum (I can never get my head around the fact that you in English have the same name for them, we have a word for mother's mother and another word for father's mother, to avoid confusion). Bottom picture is my younger sister, one of my cousins and myself.
Once again we are sponsored by Tattered Lace, this time with some amazing embossing folders, so good luck to you all!

Allsorts - blue and brown

2017-11-04T08:30:11.735+00:00

This week at Allsorts we have a colour combo for you, and not just any colour combo, it's my absolut favourite - Blue and Brown! I distressed the background using a honey comb mask, added a die cut sentiment (made two layers to make it thicker) and added a bow and a piece of string. Easy and effectful!
We are sponsored by the Digistamp Boutique and they have so many adorable images to choose from, but this time I decided to have my tag very plain.

I'm trying to cure my cold at the moment, going to Holland with a collegue and two students tomorrow, we'll be gone the entire week, so I don't really need a sore throat and stuffed nose :(

Christmas Creatures

2017-10-28T08:00:07.952+01:00

This week at Allsorts Tracy chose Christmas Creatures. So any creatures in Christmas surroundings will do. I used a LOTV-bear on a white embossed cardstock on red card base. Simple but rather effectful. For the hat and the sentiment I used Festive Berries Distress Ink.

Allsorts - Halloween

2017-10-21T08:38:08.268+01:00

We're closing in on Halloween so naturally that is the challenge theme at Allsorts this week. I used a Tiddly Ink image and made a card in green and black. Not that we celebrate Halloween particularly in Sweden but spooky things are fun all the time :)

We are sponsored with two gorgeous stamps by Little Claire so good luck to you all.

Other challenges:
Sweet stampin - Bingo (magic, witch, black)

Allsorts - Think Pink

2017-10-14T08:19:53.948+01:00

This week at Allsorts the theme is to Think Pink. I made a card with Melissa Frances paper and my beloved Sizzix daisy die. The jury is still out on the black background for my cards, but at least I have given it a fair shot :)

We are sponsored this week by Swedish House Crafts and even have some lovely guest DT-work from them on our challenge blog.
Off today to some thrift shop hopping with my wee one, never know when one might stumble on a bargain :)

Allsorts - Trees and leaves

2017-10-07T08:00:24.632+01:00

This week's challenge at Allsorts is to feature trees and/or leaves on your creation. I coloured the die cut leaf bought on E-bay with distress inks Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Dried Marigold to get the autumn look. I'm trying a black background to the photo but I'm not sure that I like it.
Anyway, we are sponsored by Marianne Design this week, so a lovely prize for a lucky winner.

Well, now I'm off to my elder one and their newly bought house just outside of town - to smell the head of my beloved grandchild and to clear some waterspouts, trim some thujas and paint a wall with the most hidious wallpaper ever, that needs to be covered immediately :)

Allsorts - Sentiment in focus

2017-09-30T08:00:00.314+01:00

My turn to host the challenge at Allsorts and I want you to put the sentiment in focus.
I used a sentiment from Winnie and Walter on soft green backing paper with a die cut border for interest and I still need to figure out how to turn the ribbon right so that the dots show on both tails of the bow...

I finally get that clean and crispy stamping now - after years of fussy, shady, half-inked images... By using a picture frame from IKEA, turning it into a misti using this tutorial.

We have digi stamps from Digistamp boutique and a lovely die from Tattered Lace up for grabs so do join in!

Allsorts - Things with wings

2017-09-23T09:00:10.583+01:00

The theme at Allsorts this week is Things with Wings and I opted for butterflies, in the comfort zone for sure! A plain gift tag with butterflies, a big bow and a computer generated sentiment. I added the sentiment below, for personal use. Enjoy!

And there are beautiful stamps to be won this week, so do join in!

Allsorts - Feels like autumn

2017-09-16T09:00:02.311+01:00

Here in the north of Sweden it sure feels like autumn - actually most of this summer did... So the theme at Allsorts - Feels like Autumn - was quite fitting. A distressed background in green, brown and orange and a stamped Penny Black tree with copper Stickles is my contribution this week.

Allsorts - at least two design papers

2017-09-09T07:55:09.347+01:00

This week at Allsorts the challenge is to use at least two design papers. A good opportunity to perhaps use the papers you bought and put in a drawer for later use - or the papers you just look at and gently stroke cause they're so pretty. Using up some design paper means you can get new design paper, you know :). I used three just to be on the safe side :) I die cut the text three times and glued together to get it thick and chipboard like.

Allsorts - new beginnings

2017-09-02T08:30:17.286+01:00

This week at Allsorts the theme is New beginnings. I went for a baby card, using an image from Lili of the Valley and masked it off so I could colour the background since I wanted the bunny really white. Just some pretty backing paper and lots of doodling. The stamped sentiment says Welcome to the world in Swedish.
