My Beautiful Pillow GiveAWay from Liz in LaLaLand!

2010-04-08T19:39:00.633-07:00

I little while back I won a Give A Way by Liz over at lululizinlalaland.  I really don't have the words....my gift package is so pretty, but I will try to describe what she sent me.  I walked down to the mailbox with my fingers crossed.  Sure enough, there was the package I had been waiting for.  I pulled my cushy package from the box, looked it over and carressed it all the way back up the hill.  I put it on a table, running to get my camera.Camera in hand, I carefully began the unwrap! The first thing was this bee-you-ti-ful tag taped onto the bubble wrap.  My hands were shaking and I am not even into the package yet!Isn't this the prettiest tag?  I love it, love it!The sweet fragrance of lavender is filling the room as I open the bubble wrap.  I see some vintage lace pressed nicely into a little see through "rose tagged" bag.  Oh, there's some vintage velvet ribbon and some pearl buttons.  I see the sweetest vintage romantic photo printed on fabric tucked inside too.  My heart is beating faster!Seeing through the pink tissue, I see a crochet doily.  Oh my Goodness! Do I open the pink tissue or do I go on to the pillow?  I think I will just go faint!I move on to the pillow, looking back at the doily.  As I move the pink tissue aside for a moment, I see another sweet treat that I absolutely adore.   Carefully place beneath the pink ribbon I see that Liz has worked the picture of my mom into the sweetest collage.  A hand written note is on the back of it.  ~The Pillow~Oh, I cannot tell you how pretty it is,Nor how much the pillow means to me!It is most truly a work of art, dear LizAmongst my most treasured, t'will forever be. See the pretty detail close up.  The main fabric is a gorgeous vintage demask!  There are lots of laces, velvet ribbons, pretty dementional flower add ons, buttons, big and small.  Beautiful big pearl buttons, I simply love them!I am going back over the bags again...my heart is still beating, pitter patter...faster and faster!Isn't all of this so sweet?  But this is not all yet, I have the pink tissure to open, still......On to the pink tissue with the doily.  Oh, there are two doilies!  Look at this dainty one!.....and this pretty oval one.  It is soo pretty!  The sweet hand written message is intertwineded among the musical notes.  Thank you Liz! Thank you so much, I am overwhelmed![...]

Transparent Image of Skeleton Key - Original Image by Graphics Fairy

2010-03-23T06:44:02.512-07:00

I am facinated by the gorgeous and unique vintage art that Graphic Fairy works to present for our use.  I had been looking for a skeleton key and, wouldn't you know it? ...Graphics Fairly came out with the perfect one!  Thank you, Fairy!  This skeleton key was on a card originally, but I needed it in a format with the background transparent (PNG format).  I hope you can find a use for it too.  Ge sure to click to get the largest image before saving.

Hummingbird Migration Chart

2010-03-16T11:24:14.881-07:00

Have you seen any hummingbirds in your area yet?  I have found information on their move north over at   experimentalfarmer
She has a migrating chart showing how far north they are now.  They are getting close to my area.  I think it is time for us to get out feeders out!  Why not hop on over there and take a look.  The chart is right under her hummingbird picture.

German Art

2010-02-07T17:26:25.039-08:00

This is one of my most cherished pieces.  My husband bought this from a freelance artist for $5.00 in Munich Germany way back in the 50's.  That was a low price even then.  This beautiful work has been carved in one piece of wood. It is done in great detail and very dimensional with no glued add-ons. I have seen many pieces done in this style, but never one this beautiful!

Free Cards from Vintage Images

2010-02-07T08:11:33.656-08:00

This is some editing I did with the vintage card shown below.  The first card is the original. The second image has been edited in Paint Shop Pro, making the colors a little more pink, adding a little lacy look, touching up the cheeks, etc. and turning the flowers into roses. I made the second image a little more Card or TAG shape and left it plain for you to add your own sentiments, if desired.

Free vintage image for your creations.

Paint Shop Pro is the image editor I use regularly. I received a version of it years ago as a gift and have updated it several times as newer versions come out.

This is a little animation that I had fun creating today in PSP9.1 from this vintage image. It is transparent so you can use it on any color background in your webpages. Free to use if you like.
