But what really blows me away is how the cabinets are painted silver matching the stainless steel appliances. Such out-of-the-box, genius decorating. :) I'm inspired...

Tue, 19 Jan 2010 01:56:00 +0000

Author: Lee DobbinsAdding charm to your eclectic decorating style by displaying suitable accessories is a good way to enhance the room design. This interior decorating theme works better with funky and unique items which help bring out the fun and varied appeal of your unique personality. Your eclectic design style will really look great when you add various coordinating knick-knacks, artwork and pillows. Paintings and prints are a great way to add interest to your walls, but most individuals don't know the right way to hang them. You should arrange them so the middle of the wall art to be at eye level. Try laying a grouping of artwork out on the floor initially to figure out the exact configuration. The eclectic decorating style can be enhanced by funky artwork which you might want to display in groups. Additional items that can help improve the look of your unique personality include plants, lots of color, and beaded fringe. You want to select accessories which go with your general room design. Use on theme pieces purely in order to achieve the look and feel you are trying for. Decorative pillows can add a soft touch to your room decor. If you had the notion that pillows were solely for the bedroom, think again, they can put an intriguing touch to any room including the den, kitchen and bathroom. Using decorative pillows arranged at the headboard of your bed can add a fantastic professional look. Pillows on the sofa or chairs in your family room, den or living room will help inject a bit of the eclectic decor style. Displaying pillows in the bathroom is one solution a lot of people don't picture but you can easily place one on the hamper or in shelves or racks with towels. For this style of room design, pillows that use funky colors and shapes will work perfect. No matter what your decorating style is, you can add some unique appeal to your room style with knick knacks. To highlight your eclectic decor, stick with accessories that have a fun and varied feel. Try putting funky colorful pieces from local artisans or adding unusual kitsch on display. This is where you can really make the design theme your own by acquiring accessories which mirror your individuality. If you are on a budget, consider shopping at garage sales and flea markets for fabulous interesting decorative pieces. Adding interest to your eclectic decorating style with whimsical and unique items can help give it a great look. Before you go shopping, it's a great idea to map out the styles, and types of items you need so that you don't buy items that won't fit. Size matters, so go around the room and judge the size of accessories and wall art you would like and select them accordingly. Your Inner Child

Sat, 12 Dec 2009 15:21:00 +0000

Your inner child lives in your heart, the emotional center of your body. It is helpful however, to picture your child self outside your body in order to communicate more effectively with him/her. There are several phases to the inner child relationship. The first is the healing of your wounded child of the past. The second stage, which lasts the rest of your life, is nurturing your inner child of the present.

This child is not all that you are. You are an adult who has survived a lifetime of risks and hardships, growing and learning along the way. You have a brilliant mind, which you have used only partially because of the limitations of your parenting and the world you live in. There is much more to you than you know. If you are fortunate enough to have already recognized your greatness, you probably know that you are still not through. The closer you come to knowing who you really are, the more you realize how much you have to learn.

This is an excerpt from an article by William G. DeFoore, www.defoore.com.

Birthday Memories

Mon, 30 Nov 2009 20:00:00 +0000

We didn't really get into the whole birthday thing when I was a little kitschy kim. My mom would buy a Pepperidge Farm frozen cake, thaw it out and stick some candles in it. Then we'd would go and get my birthday present which was always school clothes since my birthday is in August. I think if I would have had a birthday party it would have looked like this.

Why I love ebay....

Sat, 07 Nov 2009 17:25:00 +0000

(image)

Ebay is that giant garage sale in cyber-space where someone's trash is surely someone's treasure. I have found nostalgic items that bring back happy memories of my childhood. One is the the Avon fragrance Cotillion that my grandmother wore in the 1960's and 1970's. She no longer wears it.... probably because Avon no longer makes it. As a little kitschy Kim, I found the bottle to be as enchanting as the scent.
Another item is the 1972 New Born Baby Tenderlove. I lost mine when my family moved to another town. No idea what happened to her during that moving process, but I was shattered. Well lo and behold there she was waiting for me on ebay. I missed you baby tenderlove!

Being a sugar lovin dessert diva I have to share with you one of mine and most of Austin, Texas' favorite dessert spots. "Hey Cupcake" operates out of cool airstream trailors. They have the most delectable cupcakes. Some of my favorites are Double Dose, Red Velvet, Snowcap, 24 Carrot and Michael Jackson. What the heck..I love'em all!
