Conference and Expo events scheduled for Xiamen and Shanghai in 2008
Redding, CT USA and Xiamen, CHINA (PR Web) January 16, 2008– Search Marketing Expo (SMX) events will be produced in Xiamen and Shanghai as the result of an agreement between SMX parent Third Door Media, Inc. and China’s leading producer of events for internet and search marketing professionals, Timev Media.

“Regardless of the source, the consensus is that internet and search marketing is growing and will continue to grow very rapidly in China,” said Chris Elwell, Third Door Media President. “We’re privileged to be associated with Inway Ni and the experienced team at Timev Media, which has produced search marketing events in China since 2004,” Elwell added.
“With 162 million internet users and 32% annual growth, China represents great opportunity for the global internet and search marketing community,” said Timev Media Vice President Inway Ni. “We’re very excited to working with the experienced Third Door Media team, including search marketing experts Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman, to bring the renowned Search Marketing Expo – SMX event brand to China. Together, we are confident we will provide valuable search marketing content in Chinese and other languages and markets,” Inway added.

SXSW Open Format

Wed, 13 Feb 2008 15:35:45 +0000

Anyone going to SXSW this year? You might be interested to know they are adding a few intersting segments to the interactive conference. Open Format being one of them.

Its an opportunity for you to present in a short amount of time on a topic that interests you. Theres no voting on which sessions to have presented, and you don't have to be a big name to do it... Its open to any registrant. There is a short time limit though, so everyone will get a chance to present. Its taking place on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the afternoon.

Any one intersted in participating? I'm trying to judge the interst in presenting so that I can determine how long the presentations can be.

Bandwith Limitations

Mon, 05 Nov 2007 03:16:51 +0000

Hello everyone-

I am new to blogging and am just learning about the technology behind it.

My blog has 30,000 MB of bandwith. I just found out that a newspaper with a distribution of 250,000 is writing a story about my blog. So on the day it runs, I could potentially get up to 250,000 hits (though probably not that much since not everyone who reads the paper will visit). Nonetheless, I would like to be able to accomodate about 100,000 visits just in case. Does anyone know about how many hits I can safely get with 30,000 MB of bandwith or have any recommendations of how much bandwith I should get for when the story runs? I don't want my site to crash.

Thanks so much!!
Megan

Woman Friendly Technology Service Companies ! What Company do you use?

Thu, 18 Oct 2007 03:33:09 +0000

Hi ladies, i thought would share something with every one(most woman need help when it comes to service). I recently had to go threw a list of service techs for my business" I had to get my server worked on". I find it very hard to find good techs for servicing my computers, either they don't answer there phone, they don't know what there doing, or they disappear. I know very little about technology, but i am willing to pay good money for good service. All i ask is that you answer your phone when i call and not to b.s. me about what is going on. So like i said i had to go threw a slew of computer companies before i found this one. I live in los Angeles, and my dermatologist recommended that i try a service company called viruswoman. and at first i was taken back by the name viruswoman, but i went to their website viruswoman.com and found that they offered versatile services for my home and business so i called them.

I found them to be very professional, and also found out that a girl answered, and she was very knowledgeable in technology "you go girl" and she was a pleasure to work with. She sent me out a tech in less than 24 hours. And girls was he cute. I was really impressed by there service. They knew what they were doing and they were not expensive.

So i was wondering what other computer companies are out there, that you have used. I would like to find more of these companies. Dose any one know of one? Please Post.

Domain Mapping for Dummies

Wed, 17 Oct 2007 14:09:42 +0000

Hi Ladies,

I'm in the process of moving my blog (yeah, I know) and have set up domain mapping with Typepad.

My domain (thisfullhouse.com) is registered with pairNIC and I have requested that it be "parked" on thisfullhouse.typepad.com.

To my understanding, this change can take up to 24 hours and I am NOT to set the domain mapping on Typepad as "active" until I am able to view my blog through thisfullhouse.com.

Currently, my blog cannot be viewed via thisfullhouse.com - headsup AdNetworkd Team - and only through thisfullhouse.typepad.com.

Understandbly - being a DORK - I am nervous and just trying to make sure that I have completed my end of the transfer, properly.

Getting my old posts from my database is a WHOLE other issue (yes, I saved my database) and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

Liz Thompson

A little informal survey

Sat, 13 Oct 2007 20:53:30 +0000

What blogging software are you using? Do you use more than one? If so, which is more to your liking?

Hey, folks, what are your burning technology issues?

Wed, 26 Sep 2007 22:19:41 +0000

Let's start a thread here about whatever you most want to know about technology. I will answer whatever questions I can. And if I don't know, I'm sure there are others who will.

Hide your identity sticker

I just saw this on Yahoo! Anecdotal (segment starts at 2:45);

It's a green sticker device that you wear which scrambles your image when you're photographed (see photos):

I'm offering to make someone a weblog banner

Fri, 27 Jul 2007 00:32:57 +0000

Hi there,

I fairly frequently dabble in doing my own weblog banners just for a bit of a change to my site. I thought a BlogHer might like a new banner, so I'm offering to do one. Read my blog post for further details.

Bye for now
