motherhood sucks sometimes, right?

Sun, 15 Jul 2007 14:11:29 +0000

Is that a no-no? Are you all ready to kill me for saying that. It's just that some days it can just suck the life out of you, right? Well, I just had one of those days. Damn. I was on such a roll, too.
By the way, my version of 'the 80-20 rule' is if I'm a good/great mother 80 percent of the time, I'm a success. Would you all agree with that? You are going to have some days where you just suck at it! If it's more than 20% of the time, THEN you've got a problem.

Come visit me at: and please leave your comments (I'm really trying to get my blog going and could use any advice you might have)

Blogs that Expose Philandering Boyfriends/husbands

Tue, 10 Jul 2007 22:11:25 +0000

What do you think about a blog that details the exploits of a chronic, sociopathic philanderer, one who has several unsuspecting girlfriends/fiancees at the same time? If it's written carefully and truthfully in order to avoid slander or defamation, do you think it's unethical to post it? Obviously revenge is a factor, but I also want to warn other women, because this man is good at what he does. And what about posting details about where he works, mostly for the tag words, in order to get it to become visible in the miasma of the Google search world. And what is Blog Her's policy on offering a link to this blog? Any comments, answers, suggestions, ideas?

Interracial Relationship Thoughts

Tue, 19 Jun 2007 17:46:26 +0000

Hello, my name is Jacqueline Schaffer and I have been involved in an Interracial relationship with my wonderful boyfriend Ankush for over a year and a half. I have searched the internet in the past for support groups for couples like Ankush and I, but interracial relationships seem to be heavily focused on black/white annd white/hispanic relationships. Is there anyone who is in a similar situation to my own or who can offer some suggestions for my Hindu/American relationship?

Comments Not Going Through-- anyone else having trouble?

Wed, 13 Jun 2007 19:57:39 +0000

The past couple of days, I have had trouble getting my comments to post. This morning I wrote a rather long response, hit publish--and my comment seems to have disappeared into the ether! Is this happening to anyone else? What might I do to avoid it in the future?

Should I Be Concerned?...

Mon, 04 Jun 2007 02:33:15 +0000

My son loves his Elmo doll. While he was resting in the spare bedroom, I told him to be careful not to let Elmo fall off the bed. Two seconds after I walked out of the room, I heard Elmo hit the floor. I walked back into the room and saw Jack leaning over the edge of the bed, telling Elmo not to cry.

From that moment on, Jack kept throwing Elmo on the floor and would stand next to him telling him not to cry. This must've happened several dozen times, even though I told him not to do that because he could "hurt" Elmo. I seriously don't know where he would have learned this kind of behavior. He isn't being malicious, though. He seems genuinely concerned about Elmo's well-being. I don't think he's making the connection between his actions and Elmo's "feelings" yet.

He only picked up Elmo to hug him once after a "fall." Other than that, he would just keep picking him up and throwing him. Poor Elmo.

However, when Elmo went pee pee on the potty today, Jack flushed the toilet and told Elmo he was a good boy. He also gave Elmo a bedtime bottle, too.

He does love his Elmo doll, but it freaks me out a bit that he "hurts" him, as well. Is it to spite me because I ask him to treat Elmo nicely? I don't even know. I'm just glad the kid is talking now. And I'm glad he doesn't treat Livie the way he treats Elmo. When she cries, he comes running and tells her not to fall (after the fact, of course). And then he tells her to feel better, that it's okay. Sometimes, however, he laughs when she cries and I don't like that at all.

Maybe he knows the Elmo doll isn't a real person. Or maybe he's just being two years old. Sigh...

Lots of New Contributing Editors

Thu, 31 May 2007 02:08:42 +0000

I'm just curious. How does BlogHer pick Contributing Editors and decide which topic areas they fill? Sometimes it seems that there are several CE's that cover roughly the same topic areas and only one or two in other areas.

For instance, there are lots of feminist and tech CEs but only one travel CE, one Craft CE, one Religion CE etc. Is this simply the way things evolved, or are CEs and topics chosen by demand or popular interest?

Also, are CE's chosen at random, by BlogHer members who have come across them, or do they apply for the positions? that too nosy to ask?

What is Blogher's Stance on Sexually Explicit Blogs?

Wed, 30 May 2007 00:38:52 +0000

Hi There
I joined Blogher in December 06 and submitted my blog which is called Ms Naughty Porn for Women. My blog discusses erotica for women - new films, sites, books, and also features explicit pics. On top of that I report on feminist issues and news about women's sexuality.

I resubmitted it quite a few weeks ago. The URL is in the Blogher database but it hasn't been published. I tried again today, no deal.

It would appear that my blog doesn't meet someone's standards.

I checked the terms and conditions in December and I couldn't see any rules against submitting blogs of this type. I note that there are other blogs listed in the Sex and Relationships category that contain explicit material.

So, can Blogher please make it a bit clearer where they stand on sexually explicit blogs?

I support the idea of a women's blog community but I don't support the idea of a censored one.

Is it possible to have local time on postings so I dont seem strange posting at 3am when its only 12 noon here in Ireland

Sat, 26 May 2007 09:18:53 +0000

Hi there, I was just wondering how I change the time on my posts to forums on Blogher. I blog from Ireland and when I post on blogher at 12 noon here it states on my blogher post that it was posted at 3.00 am which makes me seem like an insomniac and I sleep very well thank you very much!

Query: how can I open a "restricted view" blog, please?

Mon, 21 May 2007 08:19:12 +0000

Hello fellow lady bloggers!

I've decided to write a blog about some really u nfair stuff that's happened to me...

While I have read a few blogs over the past few months, I've never blogged myslef.

My question is: is it possible to open a blog that is a "restricted view" blog? Meaning, only people I invite to read the blog cam do so, with a password I send them?

I've tried searching for a an answer, no luck so far.

Apologies if this is a frequently asked question!

Thank you,

RSS feed for just the Blogher editors posts?

Fri, 18 May 2007 22:38:13 +0000

Hi Lisa,

Is there a seperate feed for the Contributing Editors posts? Given the high volume of posts to Blogher these days (congrats to y'all!), I'd like to be able to just isolate those posts made by the Blogher editors from all the newbies posting a seemingly endless stream of new blogs.

For what it's worth, I've recently started using Yahoo! Pipes for my sites to filter the feeds (works great!):

Is there a tag, keyword or some other differentiating text for editors posts that I could filter for?

Change "more about me"

Tue, 24 Apr 2007 23:56:48 +0000

I would like to change the "more about me" section, but there doesn't appear to be a way to change this information.

My html is screwed up...I simply wish to go in and correct the link text.

Thank you,

Help with Imus Issue

Wed, 11 Apr 2007 01:06:33 +0000

I would like to find a list of Imus sponsors so I can write to compliment those, like Staples, who have decided to not support racism and misogyny and have pulled future advertising on the Imus program and to warn those remaining sponsors that I, for one, will never purchase products or services offered by any company or organization that continues to advertise on this program. My question, does anyone have information regarding how to access a list of the current sponsors of the Imus program?

Sanjaya? ...are you serious?

Thu, 29 Mar 2007 18:49:46 +0000

I watch American Idol like it's a religion and I still can't understand why Sanjaya is still in the top (now 9)? I mean he does have *some* talent but he should not be there now. There have been better singers sent home (Stephanie) when it should have been him.

At first I was a Sanjay fan, he was young and the underdog and I was like hey, this guy's got it...but as it went on I was more and more disappointed. It really hit me when he sand that song that goes "Going out...with my baby..." I was like "what's wrong with him?"....I didn't understand it....and now with No Doubt's Bathwater and different hairstyles every week? What's going on? All he has is attention now...not talent....

He needs to go.

On another note, my favorite this year is DEF Blake Lewis. I absouletly LOVE his style and he is bringing something new to the show. I hope he makes it close....(my fav never wins)....

Baby clothing for the changing weather

Mon, 12 Mar 2007 23:59:10 +0000

I found that living in a climate that has such extreme temperature changes, I find that I need to purchase both a set of warm weather baby clothes and, cool weather baby clothes. Thus, I bought two piece sets that can be mix & match between long sleeved tops, short sleeved tops, shorts and leggings. A warmer pullover and a light weight sweater and hood are perfect for cooler nights. What are your suggestion's?

Now my post flagged?

Sat, 10 Mar 2007 04:33:00 +0000

I just submitted a post about my blog submission being flagged as s*am (I'm afriad the word alone is setting it off), and now upon submitting a post on this forum about it, that post was also flagged. How do I unflag myself? Yikes, I don't s*am.
