Gilbert Doesn't Mince His Desires

Wed, 16 Jan 2008 09:18:00 -0500

Gilbert Doesn't Mince His Desires:

In Gilbert Arenas latest blog post he makes it clear what type of contract he wants:

Clearing Up My Contract
I want to get a six-year deal. I want to be a max player. If my team decides that they don’t want me here any more and they’re going to go in a different direction, then I got to look elsewhere. For me to look elsewhere, I want to go find a championship team who’s a championship contender. I’m going to have to take less money, but I’m willing to do that to win a ring. If my team doesn’t want me, then I’m going to another team and I’m going to take less money to go there.

No More Cascade

No More Cascade:

D.C. Councilwoman Mary Cheh introduced a bill to ban phosphates. Read the full article for details.

A 20-year-old D.C. law bans the sale of most phosphate-containing household cleaners, with the exception of dishwasher detergents. Cheh’s legislation, backed by nine of her colleagues, would limit the amount of phosphorous in those products to 0.5 percent by weight — less than what is found in most of today’s popular brands.

Dupont Cinema Closes:
Dupont Circle has been suffering in recent years (read: more chains, less character), and I don’t think that the closing of its only remaining movie theater (for a retail store) is going to reverse that trend.
