Hi Nens! Glad you enjoyed the posts! If you were there it would have been the Egypt gang :) I'm sure we would have had a blast! Anyways, we will do Dumaguete next year!

Jo!! I finally read all the posts about Bicol and I'm sorry I didn't read it earlier, I super enjoyed it and felt like I was right there with you! Especially tasting all that glorious spicy Bicolano food, yum! I wish there was more to read! :)

Thanks Veron! Hay naku! Maybe next time :)

Beautiful pictures! I'm sorry you were not able to see Mayon Volcano. I personally have not seen it either.

Hi Pille! Thanks :) When I was working abroad I would often travel alone and so there were never any people in my pictures...so I would stick parts of my body in the photos, just as you said, "as proof" that I was there! :)

Hi Joy! I definitely think that tourism is something we should be promoting...we do have tons to offer. I haven't even seen all that I want to here...there is still so much to discover! :) I attended the travel fair here a while back and it covered all local destinations (with lots of promos and special packages on offer!) so I thought that was a step in the right direction :)

Hi Franco! I have to go back one day to see them! :)

Hi Ipshi! Thanks for the kind words and I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the post :) I'm sure we all could do with a good vacation!

Thanks Amanda! K is definitely a great person to be with on a trip :) And being there also gave me goosebumps...it was quite an experience...

Thanks Bea! :)

Thanks Helene! Glad I could tell a little bit about the places over here :)

Hi CTL! What a nice surprise to find out you are from Legaspi! I so enjoyed my stay (and the fantastic food!) :) Wow! To live with a view of Mayon...I can imagine how incredible that would be!

Hi Maybahay! Glad you enjoyed it! :) I hope to be able to explore the Philippines even more!

Hi Zeph! I have heard that too! Hmmm...now that's not quite fair is it? ;)

Hi Belinda! Thank you :) It was a blast and I'm glad you enjoyed the recounting as much as I did! :)

Hi Ari! Thank you! Yes, black sand beaches are quite surreal...they also have them in the Greek island of Santorini (also volcanic) :)

This is such a cool post, wow! I especially love the photos - I might not have belived there were black sand beaches if you hadn't given us visual proof of it.... I've never heard of something like that before. It's like something you'd see in a fantasty novel. Very neat.

What a fun trip, Joey, and your photographs are all stunning, the scenery, the cute cows, and your trademark green sandal popping up here and there for a whimsical touch! I really enjoyed reading about and seeing some of the many highlights of your holiday...just lovely. :-)

Great photos Joey! There's a funny legend going on that one can only see the Mayon in its entirety (not even wisps of clouds hanging about), if one's a virgin. I guess not too many see Mayon in its full glory...hee,hee. My friends and I haven't and we've been there three times in five years.

I was born in Legazpi City and your travelogue made me miss it all the more. I spent many a summer in Legazpi and pinangat and bicol express are among my most favorite things!

Too bad you didn't get to see Mayon. We have a gorgeous view of her from our ancestral house and she is indeed a sight to behold. After you see such a perfect cone, no volcano will ever, ever come close.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to the province of my childhood!

'After lunch we headed towards the Cagsawa Ruins' This paragraph gave me goosebumps. A wonderful follow up Joey, and K definitely sounds like the perfect travel partner. Have a great weekend.

It is strange that the local government does not promote tourism in Bicol as much as they should. I think there should be an umbrella organisation, something like VISIT. There should be a website like www.visitbicol.org.ph, and www.visitmanila.org.ph, or www.visitbaguio.org.ph. You get the picture. We have so much to offer to people from all over the world, not to mention the Pinoys who have not discovered the wonderful destinations in their own country.

I'm not a breakfast eater myself - I love lunch! I need to have a good lunch or I get grumpy and moody the rest of the day. But I find that when I'm on holiday, my tummy seems to operate differently. So yes, I savour breakfast then.
