EventSR 1 W37 (SR 1) powers. With With her dying breath, the Seven-headed Dragon cursed the betrayers such that the Water that had strengthened the Naga will weaken them, and that they can no longer find sustenance from the bounty of heaven and earth and can only survive on the blood of their blood.7 remaining surviving leaders became the Tsaesci Lords and laid the foundation of the Tsaesci Empire. The The event was marked by them as "Serpent Risen" "Serpent Risen" in the Year of the Yang-Metal Dragon (W37). The The Tsaesci immediately turned against the Naga-Human Shinryu Empire. In In the same year, the Blue Serpent, dragon-god guardian of the East was ambushed by the Tsaesci Lords and was dissipated and the Red Phoenix, Guardian of the South disappeared, believed to be destroyed or exiled by the Tsaesci Lords. The The two remaining patrons of the Shinryu Empire, the White Tiger and the Black Turtle, retreated to the lands of the beast-folks, and planned retaliation against the betrayers. The The Tsaesci Lords, on the other hand, seemed to be also injured and had disappeared from public eyes. Thus Thus starts the 5-Wheel (300-year) War known as War of the Betrayal. (Tsaesci refers to this as War of the Serpents Risen).SR 1 W37 (SR 1) fell. The The Tsaesci were simply too well prepared. They They had secreted many agents among the Naga officials in the lands. The The Naga as a whole became untrusted by the Human as well as the other races. In In lieu of the Tsaesci's threat as well as the general hostility from the Akavir peoples, the surviving Naga who had managed to stay out of the Tsaesci's clutches disappeared, believed to have fled to far away lands. The The races that the Tsaesci met were given a chance to submit to them. Those Those who submitted were stripped of their weapons and arms and enslaved, where the combat-worthy members were separated from their families, who became hostages, while they became the new troops in the Tsaesci Expansion. Those Those races which resisted were quickly wiped out mercilessly. Among Among the victim races, two stands apart. The The Naga which were captured seemed to disappear entirely and never seen again, while the Human, due to their connection with the Naga, became the 'blood slaves', which is nothing but a food livestock to the Tsaesci, who can only find sustenance in "the "the blood of their blood". In blood". In the same year, the White and Black dragons have gathered many of the races near the Lands of the Beast-folks. Chief Chief among them is the Tiger-folks, which were the dominating influence in the region. They They were especially eager to stand behind their patron-god, the White Tiger. The The haughty Garuda, which were ancestral enemies of the Naga in the ancient times, were gloating over the Naga's in-fighting (they see the Tsaesci as part of the Naga race, and the Human as their subservient race) and the demise of the other 'lesser beings' without realising that their own is approaching.SR 0 W36 (SR ) Lin. Among Among them, the Rak'sa and Yak'sa do not live in the prime material plane and the Tsaesci simply controlled/sealed the portals to the Shadow Planes (a subset of what was considered to be "Oblivion" "Oblivion" by the Tamriellians). The The Apsara, Ghandarva and the Kimnara were not combative races and were helpeless before the Tsaesci and most chose to flee to other lands or even planes. Ashura, Ashura, reputed to be the eldest race, had mysteriously disappeared for several Turns before the Tsaesci Expansion and could not be found. The The remaining Garuda were initially haughty and looked upon the demise of the "lesser beings" "lesser beings" without realising that their own is approaching, but when they have realised the threat, the Shinryu Empire is no more and the Tsaesci have only grown stronger after they organized the surrendered races into their slave armies.SR 1 W48 (SR 12) races. The dragon-gods
Refers to the highest level of existence at the edge of The Wheel of Life. Commonly refers to the dragon-gods of Akavir.
Also often simply called "Dragons" or known by their individual names (all the dragon-god individuals are well-known), they are not to be confused with some of the lesser dragons, which only shares similarity in forms.
The Bindings of Space
Shin is no longer constrained by Space, and free to choose their physical forms. Incidentally, most prefer the divine dragon form, which is speculated to be from the instinctive influence from the Satakal the World Serpent.

As with all mortals, they are bound by space. Except for a few special cases, they cannot shape-shift like the Lin above them on the Wheel.
The Bindings of Time
Most Sheu Yeu races have approximately the same or shorter lifespans than the human. But there are exceptional cases that lived as long as some of the Jin.
Main Members
The main members of this category is made up of several variants of goblins, the bovine people (minotaurs), the marsh people (trolls), the tiger people (present Ka Po'Tun), the monkey people (present Tang Mo) , the snow people (present Kamal) and a wide variety of other races.

Yeu
The mountain wild spirits
Also known as the mountain spirits or evil spirits. But it is politically incorrect. It is loosely taken to be made up of all the intelligent mortal races which are not human and not human-like enough. The categorization is based more on looks than any real reference to good or evil, though it is true that most of the races here are not friendly towards the humans.
Jin, Nin and Yeu all belonged to the mid-levels of existences on The Wheel of Life, above the Sheu but below the Lin.

The Naga Forms
Nagas, similar to other semi-immortals (Lin), have limited shape-shifting capabilities. Usually, tribes or even clans will prefer one of the forms. The number of forms that one can adopt is also related to the individual's age and power. There are six commonly known forms that the Naga adopts:

Full Serpent
Serpent with human head
human head, arms and torso and serpent tail
human arms and torso and serpent head and tail
human body with serpent head (and tail)
Full Human

Recent History
After the Naga betrayers became the Tsaesci, the rest of the Naga and human were hunted down and enslaved. These blood-slaves are different from the other slaves in that their main purpose is to be managed and bred like cattle to feed the Tsaesci's blood thirsts. There are other clans of Naga that disappeared entirely, believed to have retreated with their remaining Kings to some far-away undersea kingdom beyond the Tsaesci's reach, due to the latter's curse of weakness to water.

Misc
Half-Nagas are the direct offsprings or descendents of human-Naga unions.
Tsaesci were Dark Naga who had betrayed their god, the Seven-headed Dragon, which is described in Origin of the Tsaesci.

This is left open for lack of more concrete proof.
!!Tsaesci forms
As a related topic, the Tsaesci, which were actually cursed Naga, suffered a few changes. Other than the loss of their affinity to water and the fact that they had to feed on blood, one less noticed change by non-Tsaesci is that their ability to shape-shift has also weakened. While it is common for Naga to gain the ability to adopt at least 2 forms and quite often 3 forms in their life-times, most Tsaesci can no longer shape-shift. Only the more powerful Tsaesci gained the ability to adopt a second form, though it seemed to be much more difficult and tedious compared to the seemingly effortless grace of a shape-shifting Naga. However, in terms of overall abilities, such as physical prowess and magical might, the Tsaesci seemed to have provedn themselves to be stronger than their Naga ancestors.

''ag-gana'' in %5BVeda%5D roughly means ''walking''. This refers to the Naga forms with legs. A Naga in this form will usually have both human-like arms and legs, though they may have either a serpentine or human head. With the exception of the Antara form (see the corresponding section), they will also have serpentine tails. This form represents the Naga form most adapted for living on land, when the Naga first came out of the seas. Most of the Naga who favors the Ag-gana form are also multi-talented, with warrior-wizards as majority. This form is not as agile underwater as some of the other forms like Na-aga and Ni-aga, but Ag-gana can still swim much better than most other legged races, and make it the most versatile of all Naga forms.
!!!Antara form
''antara'' in %5BVeda%5D means ''interior'' or ''hidden''. This refers to the rare Naga form that appears totally human. Such occurrences are rare, as the single most difficult aspect to hide is the Naga's tail. In records, only powerful elders, particularly those from royal bloodlines, can totally mask their Naga aspects and appear totally human. In the strict sense of definition, an Antara has no sign of Naga aspects. But in practical sense, most Naga who are considered to be in Antara form still retains slight signs, such as pupils of slightly different shape and colour, teeth which are slightly more pointed canine teeth, or exotic skin with faint signs of scales etc. The loose definition is simply based on whether the Antara has

!!!Aga form
''aga'' in %5BVeda%5D means ''unable to walk''. Contextually, it refers to a serpent without limbs. This Naga form is as rare than the Antara form. This form is regarded as the ultimate form of a Naga, which is the closest to the Divine Dragon form of the Dragon-gods. However, Naga in this form falls into two disparate groups depending on the cause. On one hand, when an elder Naga, particularly Naga Kings, gets powerful enough, he can adopt this form which seem to be the best form with which to project the elder Naga's powers over the waters : seas and oceans, cloud and rain. The similarity in form to the Dragon-gods have often caused misunderstanding among the uninformed races, which gives rise to the worshipping of some ''new'' dragon-gods after they are sighted, though they don't exists at all. The other cause of a Naga adopting this form is from a Naga legend, that when a Naga is stripped of his Naga heart as a divine punishment, he will turned into a serpentine beast, and his mind will also gradually devolve down to the level of a beast, after enduring the cruel process with full knowing of the outcome. And when the change is finally completed, the pitiful creature will live out its days as an animal with no memory that it was a Naga.

!!Mystery of the 7-th Form
Although the seven forms are officially listed as above, some scholars disputed that the Ni-aga and the Na-aga forms should actually be considered as one, and that the real seven-th form is purposely left undisclosed by the Naga. Some speculated that the Naga, being particularly intolerant of members of the race which cannot adopt ''perfect'' Naga forms, drove them into exiles, and the seven-th form is actually a collection of ''imperfect'' Naga forms which the others regard as abominations. Sadly, this includes %5BHalf-Naga%5D descended from Naga-human union which could not fully adopt the common Naga forms.

As with most of the original names from ancient times, the names of the Naga forms are in the %5BVeda%5D, the tongue of Asura, the eldest race. The Naga kept these names, even as they developed their own remarkably extensive language. Incidentally, as with the number of Naga aspects, there are seven Naga forms. !!!Saranda form ''saranda'' roughly means ''egg'' in %5BVeda%5D. Ironically, Naga do not lay eggs. (see %5BNaga%5D for more details) However, Naga youngs are born in initially-soft water-tight sacs that may look like eggs. A Naga newborn may stay in this sac for a while before breaking the sac. This is probably a way of protecting the newborn if the environment is unsuitable. While in the sac, a Naga can stay in a hibernation-like state for a long period of time. If the environment is suitable, or if the Naga newborn can detect his or her mother, the newborn may break out of the sac immediately. However, if the environment is not suitable for birth, the sac will gradually harden into a strong protective shell that gives it a more egg-like appearance, in order to protect the child. Sometimes, when an adult Naga is seriously injured, he or she may also secrete a substance that will form a similar sac around them which will also harden similarly in order to protect them while they heal. !7 Forms of the Naga As with many of Akavir\'s races, especially among the elder races, the %5BNaga%5D possesses shape-changing abilities. Though not every Naga can adopt each and every one of the known naga forms, a typically naga can shift between two forms. Elder naga, especially those from powerful bloodlines may have more forms. In total, it is accepted that there are seven classes of forms that a naga may take. Incidentally, the term \'\'naga\'\' also can mean \"seven\" in the Veda Tongue. !!7 Aspects of the Naga Naga believed that there are seven aspects to their motal forms, names after seven aspects of the (divine) dragon : the \'\'horns\'\', the \'\'neck\'\', the \'\'upper torso\'\' (with fore limbs/hands), the \'\'lower torso\'\' (with hind limbs/legs), the \'\'heart\'\', the \'\'tail\'\' and the \'\'skin\'\'. A typical naga form can have either serpentine or human features for each of these aspects. |**aspect**|**symbol**|**serpentine**/**human feature**| |**horns** of the dragon|ka|A pair of visible horns, which can vary in appearance depending on bloodlines. Most are elegant multi-tiered in an antler-like fashion. Horns always appear in pairs. Horns are marks of royalty among the Naga. A Naga coming from common roots with horns can almost guarantee a lineage back to the royal families (most probably due to a philandering ancestor) and will often be adopted back into the royal family, while a royal member who does not have horns will not be considered worthy of ruling.| |**neck** of the dragon|kan|Although the original meaning is \"neck\", this can optionally refer to the head/face. A serpentine feature of this aspect means that the Naga will have a serpentine head. A human feature can mean anything from a fully human head to just having a human face.| |**upper torso** of the dragon|di|Having human feature for this aspects usually mean having the upper torso of a human, usually from shoulders to waist, and having human-like arms and hands (though there may be serpentine feature like claw-like nails). Having serpentine feature usually mean that there is no recognizable upper-torso/fore limbs at all.|| |**lower torso** of the dragon|fang|Having human feature for this aspect usually means having recognizable legs.
