No Red Steel in 2009

(image) Game delays are a constant source of frustration for gamers. Today Ubisoft adds to our collective anger gages by pushing back a few of its top titles, including Red Steel 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, I Am Alive, and Ghost Recon.
"We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft. Lastly, we are having to adjust our full-year targets to take into account the fall in business over the first half. The excellent response to our games at E3, as well as the high buzz generated for titles such as Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and Avatar, reinforce our belief that the company can achieve strong growth in the second half of the fiscal year."
-Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot
Red Steel 2 and Splinter Cell are now expected to be released between January and March 2010, making the holiday game list a bit shorter.

Steak + Babies / Lions = E10 rating

Scribblenauts is set to be one of the most creative and open ended games to date. With all this creativity the ESRB was sure to find something they disagreed with. This is their summery of the game : "This is a puzzle game in which players navigate a series of traps, puzzles, and enemies to collect stars scattered throughout the colorful levels. Players have the ability to summon different objects by writing/typing in the word (e.g., bike, spaceship, lion) and watching it come to life. If multiple words are entered in a sequence, different whimsical scenarios can be triggered: a bicycle can be used to jump over a baby; a bulldozer can clear away a shark; and cabbage can be fed to dinosaurs. Players can elect to summon “cartoony” versions of bats, bombs, guns, and flamethrowers. These types of items can be used to destroy objects or even other summoned items (e.g., a club can be used to hit an animal; steak can be attached to a baby to attract lions; rockets can be lobbed at a man). These triggered animations are minimally depicted and are usually accompanied by popping, musical sound effects; bright, star-shaped flashes; or small puffs of smoke. If players wish to, they may type in the word vomit, which causes a beige-colored lump to appear on the screen."So, basically, this statement has insured the first thing I do when I get the game is attach a steak to a baby in order to attract a lion. Also, it makes me wonder how many diabolical things i can do with this game. If I summon a baby and a dingo... will the dingo eat it?? *evil smile*[...]

(image) This boxart is obviously fake, but the story isn't,Rockstar announced today that it would be releasing GTA: Chinatown wars on the Psp, yeah the Ds exclusive.... The one we all should've bought because it got great reviews.... yeah, that one. Now it's going to be available on the Psp and downloadable to PspGo. I'm intrested to see how it sells on the Psp, though if it does better it might make me feel shamed.

You Got The Megaton Hammer!

After a few days of speculation, Nintendo has went ahead and released the new Zelda Wii artwork that Shigeru Miyamoto revealed on June 2nd. There's not much to say about it since it's well, artwork, but it's nice to see the high res image (click it to make it bigger). I wonder who that ghost-like lady is.. Thoughts?

Is that.... Miyamoto??

(image) *GASP!* It IS! He's looking at the Psp Go, Sony's latest hand held. Looks like he's checking out the competition. Or maybe he just wants to play a game... not like he's going to buy one... right?
Interview with Miyamoto here.

Iwata Asks: Wii Motion Plus

One of the best things about Nintendo, I think, is having a president that asks the R&D team tough questions. This time, Iwata asks them a question we've all been wondering "Why wasn't Wiimotion plus included in the Wiimote to being with?" The answer, as you have probably guessed.... cost. Read the full round table here.

Snake? Snake? Snaaaaaaaaaaake!

(image) There was tons of news at this years E3 about Metal gear solid. First we had Metal Gear Rising, the more action based game staring Riden, which we thought was an Xbox 360 exclusive, which it isn't. Then they gave us Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the Psp. Lastly, and most oddly, Kojima announced Metal Gear Soild: Arcade... Aparently, Arcades do much better in Japan than here in the U.S. Details about this game are limited, other than it carries the tagline Tactical Online Action and will be played with "3d" goggles. Sounds intresting, however, I highly doubt it will come stateside. Who's up for a trip to Japan?

Roundtable With Miyamoto

After Nintendo's E3 conference today, many people where left wondering, "Where's Miyamoto?". Well he was in the audience! After the conference he held a round table discussion about Nintendo and it's software.
-Wii Sports Resort/ Wii fit plus talk and demo
-New Zelda in the works, set for '10, concept art depicts Link in his twilight princess form or possibly older, Might be a wiimotion plus exclusive
-New Super Mario Bros Wii will not have WiiSpeak, possibly no online
-Demo of Zelda: Spirt Tracks
-Wii Vitality sensor used to control robots with your mind in a demo/ Could be used in a future pokemon game

Get the whole discussion here, it's a very nice read. (Might have some loading errors, sorry!)

Intergalactic Emergency!

Samus Aran is without a doubt the most badass heroine in the video game world. Last we've seen her she was destroying the planet Phaaze, the source of the volitile substance Phazon. Today at Nintendo's conference, Reggie unveiled Metroid: Other M. The fruition of the collaboration from Team Ninja and Nintendo's efforts. From the video I've seen, the game looks utterly remarkable. Sure it's mostly CGI cinematics in the trailer but damn does it rock. Now if you're a die-hard fan of the series then I'm sure you had watched the video numerous times. Analyzing every frame to reveal something we missed on first glance. I've noticed different Metroid forms like in Metroid 2 and Mother Brain's advanced form as she was in Super Metroid. What does this mean exactly? Well since we don't have any full details as of yet, this is my assumption. The game is subtitled Other M which could stand for other memory. Perhaps we get to replay her past adventures again or it's simply her memories relived in a part of a grander aspect within the plotline. My assumption is the latter. Whatever the reason may be, I intend to buy this game as soon as it's released next year. Watch the video and drool in amazment.

A Golden Prayer Answered

(image) Too long. It's been too long since the last Golden Sun game. Every year I await any news regarding a sequel. And every year I wind up dissapointed.....but not anymore. At the very last minute of his speech Reggie Fils-Aime revealed Golden Sun 3 for the Nintendo DS! I was literally out of breath when watching the video. I am in awe, complete and utter awe. Not surprisngly the game looks great. There have been no mention of a release date but I don't care. All that matters is that Golden Sun 3 actually exists. Thank you Nintendo. Now we play the waiting game..............ah the waiting game sucks, let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos.(object) (embed)

*E3 09* Come to the MMO side

If you love Star Wars, then Bioware has a game for you. The Old Republic is an MMO set 3 thousand years before the events of the films. The game will have FULL voice acting for all characters, it's the first MMO to do so. This trailer, presented during EA's conference is beautiful and breathtaking, I had goosebumps watching it. See it here.

Well if your not you have till spetember 9 2009 to gather up 3to 6 friends and a couple bucks and get your fix on beatles tunes.

Now i know this game has been announced for a while but this is the ultimate in epicness as the game was just shown off during Microsoft's Conference at E3.

Ill keep this nice and short cuz i dont want to babble (i can go on forever with RockBand believe me)

Here are the skimpy Details...

3 singers harmonized singing this will be split into 3 colors red, brown and blue. (better get your tone-def friend to sing better)

Beetles DLC, shortly after Game's Launch there will be Full Album releases as DLC

Style of the game has been totally revamped, no more dark cool shiny colors, its all for the Hippies here (far out man)

Epicness on my side :D

This Time It's Mother Fuckin' War

By now you should know who Travis Touchdown is. He's the dapper protagonist of one of the Wii's best Mature-rated games. Ever since gamers finished the first game, they've been craving for a sequel. Suda 51 gave fans what they wanted by showing off a teaser trailer to No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. But us fans still were not satisfied....until now. Behold, the debut gameplay trailer for NMH2 in all it's glory. Graphically, it looks to sport enhanced effects and detail. The best part of the first game was how immensely damaging your combos slashed through your enemies; this seems to take that ideal to whole another level. Instead of holding one beam katana, in certain instances you would wield two! You know what? Just click on the damn play button to see for yourself and cower at the long wait you will have to endure to play this game. raith out.(embed)

Get this game to the store, STAT!

Man, it's everyday with these game announcements.... E3 hasn't even STARTED YET! *cough* Anyways, Atlas is giving Wii owners another chance to play doctor with Trauma Team, successor to the Trauma Center games. This time the player can choose to be a specific branch of medicine: general surgeon, diagnostician, E.M.T., orthopedic surgeon, endoscope technician and medical examiner. Not many other details about the game are known at this time. We'll let you know when they start pouring in.

You're Too Slow!

Following in the steps of Sega's SuperStar Tennis, comes another game starring Sega's brightest stars. Today Sega announced Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing for all gaming consoles-minus PS2 and PSP. Expect Sega's racing cast to be derived from the countless various games it has created through out the years such as Sonic of course, and Amigo from Samba De Amigo. The amount of racers to choose from will be vast to say the least. Below is the CGI teaser trailer of the game. Sega forecasts this game to arrive in early of 2010.

This isnt Twilight, but it sure does shine...

(image) I love this time of year! I have often said E3 and the time surrounding it are like Christmas for us gamers. Following up on the present High Voltage Software gave us last night (Gladiator A.D) is this gem, The Grinder. Like Left 4 Dead? Of course you do, and you'll like this too! The Grinder is a 4-person online FPS, pitting the player against monsters like vampires, zombies, werewolves, and other such badasses. Anything you could want in a Wii title seems to be present here: Wii speak, Online, Single-player mode, spilt screen, multiple on screen enemies, awesome sound track, tons of customization, huge arsenal of weapons, range of characters with individual personalities, and of course lots and lots of blood! I'm trying not to get too excited about all this pre-E3 news, becuase I've been disappointed in the past, but Damn it's tough! I'm practically giddy at this title. High Voltage Software is finally giving the Wii the respect it deserves, thanks guys!

Support the (clone) troops

I'm very happy to tell you that today LucasArts announced the next title in the Star Wars Battlefront series titled Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. The title had been seen previously on the Esrb rating website, causing rumors to swarm. This is a Ds and Psp game, which is a bit disappointing. The game will feature multiple battle fronts (Space, ground, ect.), an ingrosing story, and span the entire Star Wars saga and beyond. If your wondering if the Ds and Psp will get the same versions, that would be a no. It seems the Psp is getting many more features than the ds, including 16-players multiplayer and complete character customization. The Ds will have 4-player multiplayer, but it wasn't made clear if it was Online or local for either platform. I look forward to hearing more about this title. SW: Battlefront is one of my all time favorite series, hopefully E3 will bring us many more details, and gameplay footage!

American Gladiator AD

(image) Seems as though the announcements are going to stream in a bit early this year, since E3 2009 isn't until June 1st and games are already making headlines left and right. Today High Voltage Software announced a new game for the Wii, titled Gladiator AD. If that name rings a bell, it's most likely because they are the developers of The Conduit, if it doesn't, then where have you been? Gladiator AD will take players back to anicent Rome to do battle, taking a bit of insperation from the movie 300 (yes, those were Greeks). Players get a choice of many (number unreleased at this time) gladators, all with different skills, and story lines. The game is said to be "challenging and well-balanced for all skill levels". I look forward to seeing more footage of this game at E3, and to hear about the other Nintendo title to be released from High Voltage Software tomorrow!

Thought I'd throw in a nice trailer for you guys, enjoy!

Little Mac Said Knock You Out!

REVIEW: We've seen many comebacks from old franchises in the recent years. None have been more memorable than this one. The last we've seen of Little Mac, he was dodging and hitting his opponents in the SNES game, Super Punch-Out!! Now it's time for the Bronx Basher (you like that nickname I gave him huh? :p) to step back in the ring so that he may deliver punishment to each of those zany characters who caused him to go into a deep hiatus. Strap on your green gloves because it's fight night in one the funnest games to adorn the Wii yet.Graphics: Are you expecting high-end graphics like in Fight Night: Round 3? Then you need to stop taking those little pink pills and buy a PS3/360. The Punch-Out series was always designed to be jaunty so it doesn't take itself too seriously; Little Mac's recent bout on the Wii is no different. Cel-shaded graphics don the world of this version of P-O. Every fighter and character is even more wonderfully animated than the Wind Waker. Having a cel-shaded style means that each character's attitude is easily recognizable. King Hippo's enormous belly jiggles with utter contempt and Aran Ryan' Irish "charm" is fully illustrated thanks to the talented programmers and designers at Next Level Games. Audio: You'll instantly hear the infamous theme song of Little Mac from the first P-O during your matches. Just hearing that old theme will pump you up-depending how old you are. What's more amazing is that once you rematch the opponents you've fought before in Exhibition Mode, you will hear specific instruments play Little Mac's theme song from the country where that boxer resides. When in the ring with Great Tiger, you'll notice sitar melodies imitating that said theme. It's very clever. Receiving heavy blows to the face is not the only thing your adversaries will administer. Each one will taunt you in their native language, so naturally I will comprehend what Don Flamenco is saying. It's nice to hear Doc Louis final dispense audible advice to you......though it's mostly about chocolate. Though wacky, all the voices fit their individual personas approprietly.Control: Don't worry kids. Punch-Out!! does not control like Wii Sports boxing. Instinctively you'll swing left if you want to throw a left hook and swing right for a right hook. Surely you'll work up a sweat but it's worth it. To throw a high jab(due to Little Mac's smaller stature) you would need to first hold the control stick up then swing. Dodging is as simple as moving left or right with the control stick; you could also block punches by holding it upwards. Optionally you may use the Balance Board but it fails to enhance the experience. It may not hinder your performance drastically yet it does a sub par job on detecting your reflexes. Those of you who want to play this game like you did when you were a young padawan, just hold the Wii Remote sideways NES-style. Even with the fluid controls of both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, I seldom have trouble throwing right punches. It feels delayed but it could just be where I am positioned when I play. Since I am not directly in front of my Wii and play diagonally from it-it may be the reason for that.Gameplay: Admittedly, I was concerned how Nintendo will pull off a new Punch-Out!! game. Would it be like Ready 2 Rumble or something entirely different? Thank God Nintendo and Next Level Games decided to  just retain the 2-D perspective of the past games. Nostalgia will overcome you during your playtime while simultaneously it will [...]

Metroid x 3 = Complete awesome!

(image) Oh Metroid Prime, how we love you! So, naturally, we are incredibly happy Nintendo is giving us all three of your games on one convenient disc! The two GameCube games, Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: echos, have been reworked with full widescreen, 480p support and feature the same awesome Wii Remote and Nunchuk control that will still be present in Metroid prime 3: Corruption. This trilogy will be releashed August 24th, almost the exact day of Metroid Prime 3's two year anniversary. The U.S lucked out, Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were released individually in Japan, so be happy!

Terminator Salvation: Advance Review

Hey folks as you know I saw Terminator Salvation on Monday at 7pm. I planned to have the review done on Tuesday but I have been so busy with working on the new site. Before I begin talking about the new Terminator movie let me go over a couple things about the previous ones. I remember as I watched the last three movies there were many major factors that made a Terminator movie so unique. One being the very impressive special effects each movie brought in the year that it was released. You can see the advancement in Hollywood's ability to make special effects through each movie.Another factor about the Terminator movies that made it so interesting was the continuous character development of John Connor. In Terminator 1 he wasn't actually IN the movie but we still learned about him through Kyle Reese. John Connor has always been portrayed as the fearless leader and the one who makes the toughest decisions. In the first Terminator when Kyle talks about John Connor he says "You trust him, hes got a strength.. I'd die for John Connor." In the second Terminator John Connor's character was developed even more showing that he is a very smart kid who knows his way around technology. In the third Terminator he is more matured while still retaining his intelligence. You start to see a glimpse of the leader that he is destined to become. Im sure McG knew how important it was to continue this flow of development and not make the character all of a sudden seem like a stranger. Now lets talk about the fourth Terminator. The biggest fear I had for this movie was the disconnection of the previous Terminator movies. I didn't want Salvation to feel like it was a separate movie. I wanted it to feel like it was a continuation of the Terminator series. I was happily proved wrong on this. I can see that the creators of the movie truely wanted to make that connection apparent both in screenplay and dialogue. There were a couple dialogues in the movie that made you reminisce about the previous movie and one which made you laugh when you hear it. So what do I mean by screenplay? Well there was one scene that reminded me of a scene from a previous terminator movie. I won't go into what it is so I don't spoil the movie.Like I said in the beginning Terminator movies are always packed with amazing special effects. This movie has very powerful and explosive special effects. This movie doesn't fail to deliver the kind of action and stunts that we are used to. Terminator Salvation has many more different kinds of terminators that are very nicely designed. Which makes the series so much more interesting. You see how the Skynet adapts and creates more unique terminators for different types of locations or enemy. When you think of the name John Connor you automatically think about a charismatic leader. Someone who makes others feel comfortable. When I first heard that Christian Bale was going to play John Connor I wasn't woried about it. Bale already has the experience of playing the leader in justice as Batman. Bale did a fantastic job playing the role of John Connor. He even brought his signature to the Terminator series. (Yelling for no reason).Along with Christian Bale there is Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright. Marcus is a Terminator that was based off a human on death row. Sam plays this role really well and really makes you believe in his confusion. Marcus Wright is a new kind of terminator and he truly believe[...]
