The bridge is great, but what's up with that sign with the fireworks and the monkey that appears to have a burned tail?

Beautiful and peaceful place here. A great place to unwind, relax, and enjoy. Yokokan garden is well preserved historical site.

I'm surprised you were able to go to Fukui from Shirakawago by going North, that's quite an impressive feat ;) I can't even hope though you enjoyed crabs, since it's not the season. 東尋坊 is supposed to be beautiful, but I never went there yet. Next time go to Kanazawa ! Or go eat some great sushi/sashimi in Toyama

Hi mate, I've only just discovered your site but am digging it! These old photos of Shinjuku are great, would you mind me asking where you found them?

Hi Hector, I love your blogposts and the pictures you take (and actually just figured out I can follow you through newsletters!). I'm a big fan of shrines myself but never saw anything like this! It's great how they use current technology while maintaining their old culture customs so well. Just a quick question, I am aware that Japan is a cash country, is there any reason they put Rakuten's Eddy-system like this the shrine?
