There are articles available on the internet from spring and summer 2000 about Israeli plans to use tanks and helicopter gunships against Palestinian civilians during the fall of that year.

"There are no "Palestinian Territories". There would have been, but they gave up all claims as per their 1964 Charter and then chose war in 2000 instead.

Oh well. Those were their choices."

Some in here never miss a chance to distort reality, nor the activities that are inherent in human collective relationships. The 1964 Charter was written within the framework of a large Arab alliance, when that alliance was no longer viable it was changed by the Palestinian people. Just like the United States had an confederation, and than sought a "more perfect union." It is always the choice within a given community to change their strategies and stated goals - this is the case with every people on the earth. Sorry, you cannot sink the Palestinians in the cement of an original charter, which by the will of the people can be changed at any time, to suit the individuals it represents.

Also, in 2000, Zionists chose the war, the Palestinians just rose to the occasion. During the very activity of the peace process at the time, the Palestinians were not only experiencing more violent attacks, but they were further restricted, and the people that had been forced into day laborers by the Israelis (by destruction of their farmlands, confiscation of not only the properties by their water resources - virtual minimums), were cut off from what they were forced to do in order to survive, from their meager jobs. The combination of all of these activities, including the rapid development of even more settlements and house demolitions, caused the Intifada.

So on both counts you are dead wrong, in fact, you are a bold faced liar and ignorant of the options of any people. Too bad you were on the same post with someone who knows what they are talking about, better luck next time you try to spread your deceptive lies.

As'ad, you are never wrong, it has started:

An Israeli source downplayed Dugard's remarks, citing his "well known pro-Palestinian bias."

Soon it will be "anti-semitic"

My father-in-law is a survivor and after he srvived the Holocaust, he then had to survive Arabs trying to do the same thing.

Needless to say he thinks we should do the same to the Arabs as to the Nazis because the Arabs want to do the same to us as the Nazis.

Thankgodimatheist, I think you will find that Shmelzman is in a minority amongst Holocaust survivors. Most have little doubt that if the Palestinians had the ability to do so, they would be as genocidal as the Germans.

Too many things in Israel..
" In my Childhood I have suffered fear, hunger and humiliation when I passed from the WARSAW ghetto, through labor camps, to Buchenwald. Today, as a citizen of Israel I cannot accept the systematic destruction of cities, towns and refugee camps. I cannot accept the technocratic cruelty of the bombing, destroying and killing of human beings."
" I hear too many familiar sounds today, sounds which are being amplified by the war. I hear "dirty Arabs" and I remember " dirty Jews". I hear about "closed areas" and I remember ghettos and camps. I hear "two-legged beasts" and I remember "untermenschen"(subhumans). I hear about tightening the siege, clearing the area, pounding the city into submission and I remember suffering, destruction, death, blood and murder... Too many things in Israel remind me of too many things from my childhood."

Shlomo Shmelzman, Holocaust survivor.

Failed to protect the Palestinians?

From whom? From the Palestinians themselves.

The human rights violations caused by the Hamas rulers of Gaza has reach a number that compete with the number of human right violations in North Korea.

John Dugard is another tree-hugger.
