It's very brave of you to tell us about this. I know there's not much I can do, maybe that anyone can do, except to tell you we love you too, and want to see you happy and healthy, and you have all our support and well wishes. Big blanket hugs!

You know, we all have issues; I suffer from PTSD and deal with dreams, anxiety and stress that come on for no reason. It’s taken me 16 years, three tours and a wonderful wife to decide that I can’t do it by myself. I’ve been going to the VA out here in OK to help combat some of the pressure and feelings I’ve been going through. Cara has been my rock and understands because her father served as you know. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but people do care. Just know, Cara and I support you and we are your friends and family. I’m a douche at times, but I mean no harm; typically it’s me working through some things and I’m wearing a mask. As of right now the VA has me on some medication to combat the things I’m going through. I’m not going to lie, it sucks; but every day I remind myself that it’s Cara and I and I have to push through.

There is literally no way for Six Flags to fix their half-assed-ness at this point. It's just garbage thrown together around some decent coasters.

Comment on Transitioning is Power by Samantha Allen

Thanks for this thoughtful post about my Thought Catalog piece. I did go back and forth on how to phrase #6 and clarified a little bit on Twitter. As I mention at the start of the piece, transitioning is an incredibly empowering experience but it's in this constant push-and-pull with the loss of cis privilege. Like you, when the rubber hits the road, I can still do things myself but I appreciate my superheroes nonetheless. If the audience were trans* folks and not allies, I might have phrased it differently but, for the tone I was going for, I want allies to feel good about actively lending a hand. Thanks for taking so much time to think through it. It's a complex dynamic, for sure!

Comment on Twilight Sparkle vs Hermione Granger: The Argument You Couldn’t Care Less About by Doctor Perseus

This was a very interesting and in-depth look at the similarities and differences between Hermione Granger and Twilight Sparkle. Although, I get the impression that you don't like Hermione. And, if you don't then that's your opinion and I respect it. Personally, it would be hard for me to pick who I like more (Hermione or Twilight) as I really like both characters. Harry Potter remains to be my favorite series of all time and MLP FIM is one of my favorite TV series of all time. Both Hermione and Twilight are good, complex characters with likable personalities and relatability. I would prefer not to try and be like which character is better. I'm happy with just enjoying both characters for who they are and recognizing the similarities they share and the differences they have that make then unique individuals from each other. That's just how I feel anyway.

Comparing the two really makes no sense. Season one episode one Twilight was eighteen or nineteen when she first went to Ponyville. Book one Hermione was eleven or twelve when she first went to Hogwarts. That's a seven year difference between them. Seven years can make a lot of emotional/mental/physical differences between a little girl and a teenage filly.

Man that WP scene is heavy handed and forced... but if you can put that aside, it's good. Really good.
