November 18, 1901. When you want something Dunn right, see Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo agent William Dunn in Westport, along the northern California coast, informed J.S. Corrigan, who had recently moved south to Albion, on the status of his real estate. "I enclose our Wells, Fargo & Co. Money Order for $128 for the William Hitchen purchase," he said. Turning to another parcel of 80 acres, Justice of the Peace Dunn noted, "I had already accepted the amount Due with interest at 10%" for the Vickery Mortgage, adding. "It will be as well for me to have a release of the Mortgage here," so please return the enclosed one. Meanwhile, "McGill will give you an answer, regarding $250 for the Argus House, about December 1st," while "George Lee offers $100 for 100 acres. Will you take it? Answer by return." Complicated real estate deals? All in a days work for a Wells Fargo agent.
