Comment on Does My Webite Need A Sitemap? What The Heck IS A Sitemap Anyway? by Peter

Great thoughts even I think sitemaps are not a novelty. They have always been part of best Web design practices but with the adoption of sitemaps by search engines, now they become even more important. However, it is necessary to make a clarification that if you are interested in sitemaps mainly from a SEO point of view, you can't go on with the conventional sitemap only (though currently Yahoo! and MSN still keep to the standard html format). For instance, Google Sitemaps uses a special (XML) format that is different from the ordinary html sitemap for human visitors.

Comment on Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway and Where Do We Go From Here? by Margaret Daniels

Well that is a very informative article so thank you very much. As much as AirBnb wants to grow (and it will probably) I seriously doubt it will outgrow using hotels. There are some people who will always go with it as they want to feel at home, cherish the privacy and be completely independent. But there are also those who want to have a place to sleep with a nice service: someone to clean the room, someone to deliver the breakfast, someone to supply the bar. Sure they have to pay for that but sometimes it is not a matter of money but comfort. Comfort is defined separately by every single person.

I agree, WordPress is a wonderful and useful thing, and can be adapted in so many ways, even by a relative newcomer. I feel that those that I share with for free will reward me at some point by doing business with me.

Comment on Facebook Changes their Algorithm Again by Nicole Heisig

Hey Mick, Thanks for your comment. Facebook engagement and good content is really what makes your posts go viral and boosts the organic reach. If you think about it, Facebook has always had an algorithm that was based on the people you interact with and their interaction with you. There isn't now and has never been a way for ALL your fans to see ALL your posts in their Newsfeed. Your fans have pages, other than yours, and people, other than you, they interact with on a daily basis. There will always be competition among business pages, not to mention the competition against family and friend posts in fan Newsfeeds. Businesses, throughout history have had to pay to play and Facebook is no different...except for the fact that Facebook is far more affordable than any other forms of paid advertising available and not to mention the amazing targeting options you have within the Facebook Ads Manager. Don't post anything you wouldn't pay to promote, if your content is good content and gives your fans what they are looking for, your posts will be seen by those that matter.
