The Kalo Foundation sent out a troubling plea asking for help raising $40,000 in donations to help fix structural issues that threaten the Alfonso Iannelli Home & Studio in Park Ridge, IL. The walls of the historic building have begun to shift and splay and additional bracing is vitally needed to prevent roof collapse. Please donate what you can to help prevent this from happening. The Las Cruces Bulletin provides a two-part article on the architecture of the El Paso architectural firm of Trost & Trost, who designed most of the notable buildings in the American southwest in the beginning of the 20th century. Henry C. Trost was strongly influenced by Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, which can be seen in some of the designs at left from submissions to the Chicago Architectural Club. An extremely rare ceramic sculpture of Nakoma, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1924 in conjunction with the Nakoma Memorial Gateway project near Madison, WI and executed as smaller ceramic figures in 1929, is being offered at Bonhams auction house on June 21, 2016.
