Everything Black People Did at WWE No Mercy 2017

2017-11-20T16:56:43.481-05:00

Well, it's about that time...the WWE's returned for Survivor Series. And while the huge Raw versus Smackdown angle is in full effect, black people aren't doing much. On paper, we just have The New Day, Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Alicia Fox on the card, and it looks like their matches will go down during the first hour. We're not even sure what Jason Jordan has in store. Sounds about white.

Let's see what black folk got into during this year's Survivor Series.

The New Day lose to The Shield

Sasha Banks did not win the Raw Women's Championship

As much as I love seeing Sasha hit the Bankrupt then flip it into the Bank Statement, I'm tired of seeing her lose.

AAAAAND that's it. After black superstars have an amazing night on Raw, they lost every match they were in not even a week later at No Mercy. Joy. Full results are over on WWE.com.

The Black Rasslin' Podcast: No Mercy Preview

2017-09-24T08:50:22.616-04:00

The Black Rasslin' podcast returns with a heavy heart. This week, we learned that Bobby "The Brain" Heenan passed away, and for fans who are the same age as illfam79, MatthDamon, and khal, you grew up with him as either one of the greatest managers of all-time or as one of the greatest commentators of all time. Proper legend. We also have WWE No Mercy this Sunday on the WWE Network, so it was a stacked show this week. Here's a look at what's covered.

  • Reflecting on Heenan's legacy
  • Highlights from Raw and Smackdown this week
  • A full preview (with predictions) for Sunday night's WWE No Mercy PPV
  • and much, much more!
You know the routine: you can stream and download this episode in full over on SoundCloud, or grab it via iTunes and Google Play. If you can, take the few seconds and give us some love on any of these outlets; it truly helps us out. And again, RIP Bobby Heenan.

Everything Black People Did On 'Smackdown': The Show Without Shelton

2017-09-20T09:34:42.553-04:00

Were you hoping, post-this week's excellently-black Raw, that the WWE would continue to let black folk shine on Smackdown? Think again.

Naomi loses a Fatal 4-Way to be #1 Contender

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q2EA2afWQNQ" width="750">

Easy come, easy go? Looks like it's Charlotte's time to shine right now.

The New Day defeated The Hype Bros

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_szEcYWgDpE" width="750">

Too easy.

Aaaaaand that's it. What can we say, there are only so many black superstars on Smackdown, although it's weird to NOT see Shelton Benjamin on this week. For the full list of this week's results, check out WWE.com.

Everything Black People Did On 'Raw': Bet On Black

2017-09-19T09:07:19.217-04:00

Was this the best episode of Raw for black people in recent memory? It sure feels like it.

Sasha Banks helps Bayley attack Alexa Bliss

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-9hbc71779Q" width="750">

I honestly don't even know anymore. Nia Jax wins on a night Bayley returns. Sasha and Bayley, who I think are the faces, then attack the heel Alexa Bliss...so are we finally starting to build up Bayley, who returns in her hometown and is now on the No Mercy card? Whatever, at least she didn't get beat.

Apollo Crews has a match!

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/X2HjCDHDSr0" width="750">

And he gets a win...yeah, it's over Curt Hawkins, but WORLD-WIDE! WORLD-WIDE!

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6U7SoFTXCuc" width="750">

Now, earlier in the show...

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/q84mcKbdt7s" width="750">

Which then lead to...

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qcMGE5FKB_g" width="750">

When THEN lead to...

Jason Jordan becomes the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="465" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eSfBTiRfAzo" width="750">

Not going to say the problems we spoke on last week have been rectified, as this was always a rumored storyline for Jordan since before Summerslam. Fingers crossed that this is the push they'd been waiting to give him, and that we (finally) get some development to Jordan's character.

HOPEFULLY, the WWE can keep this (black) streak going. Full results over on WWE.com.

Westside Gunn and Conway Pay Tribute to Bobby Heenan On "RIP Bobby"

2017-09-18T21:30:22.077-04:00

You know you're a legend if someone feels so impassioned by your life that they send you RIP shouts in the title of your latest track. This Westside Gunn and Conway cut this new song "RIP Bobby" over some buttery production from The Alchemist and Daringer, and while this cut isn't dedicated to the late, great Bobby Heenan exactly, it does feature Heenan doing what he does best in the middle of the cut. It's a priceless tribute that only Westside and Conway could cook up.

The Black Rasslin' Podcast: Cherry Coke Dreams

2017-09-17T09:50:04.813-04:00

This week on the Black Rasslin' podcast, MatthDamon was lit off that Cherry Coke, with illfam79 and khal calling him on it. They do also talk about the week in rasslin', though, and it turns out to be a pretty dope episode. Here's a look at what they break down.

  • The New Day winning the Smackdown Tag Team Championship
  • Vince McMahon bleeding on Smackdown
  • Whatever is going on with Jason Jordan and Dolph Ziggler
  • Miz sonning Enzo on Miz TV
  • Kairi Sane winning the Mae Young Classic
  • Sasha Banks' comments on Raw booking
  • Velveteen Dream
  • and much, much more!

You know the routine; you can stream and download the episode via SoundCloud, or grab it over on iTunes and Google Play. Please rate, comment, and subscribe, and tell a friend to tell all of their friends. We'll catch you next week.

Everything Black People Did On 'Smackdown': Feel The Power

2017-09-13T23:07:04.424-04:00

The above moment is why we black rasslin' fans suffer through shows where black rasslers get shitted on.

The New Day become four-time Tag Team Champions

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="435" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cdT77eMsQyo" width="750">

That Sin City street fight was worth it, although (no disrespect to The New Day), The Usos always put on fire matches. They're really doing the damn thing, and the combined forces of Jimmy, Jey, Big E, and Kofi churned out a quality street fight that truly put The New Day back on top.

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="435" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/agEERooCzUs" width="750">

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR MEAT CLEAN! Oh, I mean now it's time for the Smackdown Women's Championship match.

Natalya beats Naomi

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="435" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i0x0OMiTE_k" width="750">

We can't have everything, you know that. I guess the question is, where does Naomi go from here?

Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable defeat The Hype Bros

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="435" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/guX0j0hccAw" width="750">

That thing where a black man winning turns into wondering if the white man's team is OK. SMFH.

The full rundown of this week's Smackdown is over on WWE.com.
