Ha! I didn't realize the Nevada Passage folks had announced their players for 2006. Thanks for pointing that out.

If you want to compete in their "open" competition, you just need to sign up. Although I haven't competed in XTerra, I've been to many of their events and they always do a good job for their athletes.

If you want to compete in the Nevada Passage Reality Show, you better know somebody at XTerraPlanet and have competed in XTerra events. If you search on the names of the competitors, you will see they are all XTerra regional champions, event coordinators, etc.. There is no application process, no nomination process, etc. - they just pick amongst their own from what I can tell.

Now that I see that, I'm not sure what I was thinking hoping to be invited. Alas!

Hey, Scott!
I saw you didn't make the cut on the Nevada Passage Reality Show. Any advice if I want to do it?

Work is taking me to Boston on 4/18, so I'm going to fit in another run of the Boston Marathon. I'm hoping to join Kristin Armstrong and her friends for their first running!

I added the Way Too Cool 50k to the list, thanks to a generous Scott Wolfe, who transferred his entry to this sold out race to me to give him more time to recover from an Achilles injury. Thanks, Scott, and best of luck in your recovery!

I had to change one entry on here - The Pony Express 100k isn't happening, so I swapped in the American River 50 mile.

I like your choices, and will make an effort to meet you at Rucky Chucky. I love your interviews with great runners, thanks for bringing them to us! Fantastic write-ups.

Happy New Year! That's a great race line-up. I can't wait to read all about them!

I don't know if you would consider it 'distance' but there is a great ski race from Tahoe City to Truckee in March called, appropriately, The Great Race. And while normally I would say the kid sleds are a great idea, I would leave your daughter at home for this one. The finish is somewhat akin to a luge. Great for spectating.

Good to know about the socks. And I bet Ash would love riding in the snow. I wonder how safe those pack sleds are? ;)

Scott;

I too have decided to pursue my first 100 miler. Since you know me, and know my style, you'll no doubt figure out that the 100 miles will take place over the duration of 2006, perhaps even sneaking a bit into 2007. See you on the trails...

Johnny, we're going to have to find you a stroller/back country ski duathlon! ;-)

I had a similar issue with my Injinji's, but before I could say something, they changed the location of the logo to the top rim of the tsok. So grab a new pair and you should be good.

Sweet list Scott! I didn't see any "ultra" skiing events though ;). Do you know if they even have any backcountry distance ski races? Thanks for the info about the Inov-8s. I bought a pair and loved them on their trial run. It wasn't the most revelant test; a 7.5 mile out-n-back on the Sabino Canyon tram paved road pushing my 3 year-old son in the stroller up and down 700 vertical feet. But they felt great and I had a personal best stoller time for that route :) ! Although I wore my Ingini socks and the high cuff of the Flyrocs rubbed the socks hard logo through my ankle's skin.
